Stepping back in time. This was quoted in last week Sunday Times.
When you walk past this narrow shop at the end corner, you will smell the traditional aromatic coffee. This Hainanese coffee shop has been around for almost 70 years. Yes, no change in the decor. 1960s ceiling fan, retro mosaic green color wall tiles and seven ( only seven ) marble-topped tables which are available for dine-in.
Not only is this place good for its traditionally roasted coffee powder, it is also famous for freshly baked and oven-hot buns. Their custard puffs and cream horns are highly recommended but be prepared to wait as the workers only serve those in queue. No advance orders will be entertained.
Most of the people who turned up dont mind sharing tables as the people waiting for seats are more than the people who are sitting down enjoying their cuppa and puffs.
Service is below expectation as most of the workers have worked here for many years and therefore, the only duty is to serve coffee and pastries. No customer rapport or quality attention are available here.
Due to the over-crowding especially during breakfast, most customers just drop by to buy boxes of their pastries and head towards other nearby coffee shops to enjoy them peacefully.
