Daiso.... A place where cheap things ain't so cheap but sometimes can be cheap too....but not too cheap looking...
Blur? It means.. Some things are Cheap but some are not. Though Cheap, But these cheap things don't look too cheap :)
Made in Japan or Made in China?
I guess... Made in china but Assembled in Japan. Or Made in China and Packaged in Japanese. Whatever it is, the material and quality of the items are good and i'm sure quality control is also good and so its close to japan made items.
For $2 what can we expect.....
A stainless steel shiny cooking spatula...
Intrisically Designed Ceramic Japanese tea cups
Useful and colourful cartooned Plastic Lunch Boxes
Retro Printed Ties
Colourful and Durable Organizing Containers
Useful Bicycle Parts
Interesting and Environmentally friendly toys
Superb quality facial care products
Japanese Junk Food.. Since they are good quality.. Its not considered Junk food but SNACKS
Umbrellas and Rain Coats
And other interesting and innovative solutions for the everyday life.
I should say its not the price of the products that matters but the solutions to our everyday life... Making living smarter, easier and more enjoyable. However I'm still glad for such a low price, there are so many innovations.
When we look at these solutions, they indeed raises our living quality, though improvement don't come in giant leaps, it makes everyday waking up a joy. More importantly, these little innovations are able to spice up the creative spirit in us and who knows.. we might be inspired to create even better solutions and while selling these solutions become Rich......
Salute to the Japanese and Thankyou Daiso.. I'm going to be a millionaire soon.. Catch me inspiring myself in Daiso....
ha.. after talking about Page one, I think I should talk about Daiso too. Comparing to the stores in Japan and back to Singapore. I find some similarity. Being packed and filled with people seems the usual in the stores here as well as in Japan.
The Daiso over here is one of the smaller branch as compared to the one located in IMM Jurong East. I normally go there to get my bicycle accessories and some bits and pieces of household necessities or stationeries if I do go Vivocity. I loved the cutlery they have and the snacks and drinks which are also offered in all the outlets.
It looks the same in all outlets which I find it a bore, things are everywhere and you really need time to look into the things they have there. Quite cluttered. Thankfully the whole place is brightly lit that I can see the things in a whole different color ha.. things seems to look prettier when its bright right? :P
I have been to Daiso many times. I have bought stuff for my dog such as the collar, leash and clothing. Recently I bought scarf, socks, hat and gloves for my trip to Spain which I feel is worthy for money. I have not really explored the whole place as it is really big and offered many items for sale. Overall it is an enjoyable shopping experience for people who want to shop and yet do not want to spend too much money on a single item. It is a great place for students to shop for items and working adults as well.
Product
Comparing Daiso to the other value shops, Daiso definitely win them all. $2 might not be very cheap for certain product, but they are all from japan.Personally i would recommend the charcoal facial wash, i feel that it is too good for that price, i would anytime pay much more for it.
Shop Layout
I think it is because it from japanese management, the things are well organise, easy to navigate. But sometimes i will still seek the help from the crews as it is just too big for me still. haha!
Customer Service
Comparing to the crew of different value shop, i think daiso do have the best customer service, they are patient and helpful.
As comparing with the other outlets of daiso, i never have a problem seeking help from the crews.
Conclusion
Worth of money? Check!
Good Service? Check!
Well Organised? Check!
Love it? Check!
Every time I'm at Vivo, I MUST and will visit Daiso. And every time I go, I will surely buy something from them. Even if there's nothing to buy, I'll still grab some snacks or stationary. My friends call me a Daiso addict.
I'm amazed at how many new things are being released each time I visit Daiso. And their items on sale is ever growing! Some of the things they sell are really value for money. But there are some which are not worth the $2 too.
I usually will try to avoid going near a Daiso during weekends. The place will be pack and the display will get kinda messy too. Go on a weekday afternoon is the best.
Daiso - the everything $2 shop. Whenever i'm in any shopping center with a Daiso branch, i will always pop in, sometimes to get some stuff, sometimes just to walk around and check out all the interesting things which are sold at only $2.
The shop is messy, but i think it's fine since the price of everything is so value for money. They have really unique stuff like stationeries etc. If you're travelling, i'd recommend you to get the ziplocks from Daiso to put your clothes. Cheap and good.
The first time i've been to Vivo city i visited the store. It was quite interesting to visit a store where everything goes at $2.I bought this packet of blue pen and it has eversince been my fav pen.Everything is okay except that it can be quite messy the feeling of a sale cos things can be pretty messy.
