$72 for a pair of movie ticket in a luxurious seat for 2 hours... do you think worth it??it all depends on the movie and the person next to you...
just watch Sherlocks Holmes in GV Gold Class @ Vivocity with someone special..
we feel very high class and the environment damn luxurious also the service staff serve u differently.. feeling like you are their super super VIP...but...
for me, it's worth it only during special occasion like Valentine's Day, Birthday, Anniversary or etc...
once a while is ok... if everytime go movie also Gold Class, must well save the money for travel....

Recommended for medium working class people like me... to go once a month or 2month with a very good movie..

If cinemas were airplanes, this would be the first class seats of the flight. Huge, comfortable, chairs that reminds me of the recliner I have in my living room (except that my TV screen is about 20 times smaller). You can press the control buttons to adjust the seat to whatever angle you like (okay, now it's starting to sound like a hospital bed or dentist chair), and the rows are so spaced out that there's no way you'll be blocked by the person in front. I think there were 20-something seats in the entire theater.

And there's no need to queue up outside for snacks and drinks. Press the button and you'll be served your orders. Quite an impressive menu too. Forget about putting the food in your lap, there's a proper table for you.

But at the end of the day, the cinema is about the movie, just as an airplane is about getting from one place to another. So as long as the quality of the movie is not compromised (heads blocking, crappy speakers, grainy screens), I think that I would still go back to my "economy class" of cinemas, and leave behind this $30 price tag for people with more money to throw around than I do.

After the success of the Gold Class concept in the Great World City outlet, Golden Village decides to roll out this service at Vivocity, the largest mall in Singapore.

This is a place for you to pamper yourself, especially after a long day or week of work. In this stressed filled society, people needs to take time off and put themselves off in a relaxing environment.

The pricing tends to be cheaper on the weekdays at $25 and $30 over the weekends. Do book your ticket in advance for weekend shows because the tickets tend to sell out fast for these sessions.

The red sofa seats are big, spacious and comfortable. They even provide you with blankets to ensure that you are kept warm if you are feeling cold. The seats can be adjusted with a press of the button on the side of the arms.

The one thing you cannot miss out is the food. The food here makes up the complete Gold Class experience. You can order the ala carte items or the set meals. Whatever the case, I do strongly recommend the Golden Wings. It is something not to be missed. You can even order wines to go along with your food.

Service level is not compromised in such a dark environment with the touch of the service button on the table. The staffs are able to locate you and attend to you promptly, even discreetly clearing your empty plates after each course to avoid disruption to your movie going experience.

I would strongly recommend this place if you are catching a blockbuster or long movie to make your trip a worthwhile one, rather than a movie that last 70 minutes. And please try out the food if you do come here because it is really that good.

First night of Chinese New Year 2008, I decided to give hubby and myself a little treat. I manage to book 2 gold class tickets at SGD30.00 each for "CJ7" and right after that movie, "Kungfu Dunk" SGD10.00 each ticket in the normal rooms.

We sat around in this lounge while waiting for the show to start. Since we have yet to have dinner, hubby decide to order some food. Which we love yet regret later. Read on to find out why. :)

My heart almost skipped a beat when we were in the theater. The armchairs are like so huge!!! I sat down and pulled the blanket provided, which is placed at the side of the armchair. While I spread out the blanket, hubby started playing with the buttons... located at the side of the armchair. (What other buttons were you thinking??)

I know by now you think we both are such mountain turtles. But no ones else was there yet, so we were like in our own world kind of thing. :P

The buttons allow you to adjust the seat according to how you like. You can even lie down to watch the movie if you like. No worries, even if you're lying down, you wouldn't be blocked by anyone!!! The armchair was like a bed to me. so big, so comfortable. :)

Now, to talk about the food...
Hubby and I love the food! but.. We either ordered too much or their portions are too huge! :p We couldn't finish our food loh.

Right after the movie, we went straight to the normal room to catch "Kongfu Dunk". Suddenly the seats all looks so small. lols. But seriously, for the amount of comfort, SGD30.00 per ticket is really worth it! :)

Decided to watch Golden Compass on a weekday in Gold Class to pamper ourselves for once. Haa....

Surprised to see that it is almost fully booked on a weekday afternoon. Hmm... Seem like a lot of ppl really dun mind spending money for comfort. Haa...

Once in, we are greeted by very polite servers. There is a lounge for us to relax while waiting for our movie to start. The menu is very impressive as well where we can order set meals to snacks to even beer or while while watching the movies. Haa...

Once we are urshered to our seats, we are greeted by big plush red sofa chairs, with a blanket on the sides. The seats are very comfortable and with a push on the side button, the seat will slowly move into a flat bed position. So you can adjust to whatever position that you are comfortable with.

There is a small table in between the seats where you can place your snacks or food. There is a button on the table where you can press for service.

As there is only like 24 seats in the cinema, the space is really big and no way the person in front can block you. The screen is a wide large screen that fills the length of the room.

Paying $25 per ticket ($30 for weekends), is consider a luxruy to me. However if the movie is 2.5 hrs or even longer, I think the money is worth spending. At times, they will have special promotion for with food tied in with the movie and I think that is much more worth it.

What a way to pamper a movie lover like myself. Hee.....
