Originally located in Taipei, Taiwan, Ice Monster has branched out to countries like Singapore, Japan, China and even U.S.A.

It serves mainly snow ice desserts and other fruity treats as well.

Yayhayy~~Finally went into this shop to try their desserts. To my surprise, their desserts did not disappoint me. I read that this shop is from Taiwan. I'd tried a few shaved ice desserts elsewhere but they disappointed me alot. Compared to what I'd eaten in Taipei some years ago, those shaved ice desserts I tried in Singapore really sucked- quantity too little, used artificial syrup, no fruits at all, not worth the price totally.

But hey! So glad to go into this shop~~They have real fruits on the desserts! And not just a few pieces! Tried 2 of their desserts only. Wish I could try more. But nevermind, I will return soon!

Ice Blended Fresh Mango Sherbet- $4.50 Damn nice!! Sherbet made of fresh mango! Fresh mango toppings! And the iceblended ice itself is made of mango!

Super Fresh Strawberry with Sherbet and Milk Shaved Ice- $6.50 Sherbet made of strawberry! Fresh strawberries as toppings! Milk shaved ice...But I find it not milky enough. These lost a little to the ones I had eaten in Taipei, but still nice! =)

And also, the atmosphere is quite peaceful because of it's location I guess.

The service is not bad. Staff are attentive.

***Update: Tried Fresh durian and fresh mango and mango sherbet with milk today~~!!! Tasted heavenly!!! So shiok!!! I ordered large size for $8.50.

Hmm.. ya.. it's abit expensive. Why not try the one at Dhoby Ghaut exchange? shop name is Eskimo. Hmm.. it is very milky and definitely more affordable. Furthermore, it is a taiwanese product!

Hmm... Id say that the choices offered in Icemonster are not as much as I expected it to be given the popularity in the media it seems to have.

I especially enjoyed the local taiwanese ones whenever i travel there. So having the impression of what I had in taiwan, id say that the ones offered at ice monster are not quite i expected.

the ice served by ice monster seems not to be as fine and i think ice monster concentrate more on fruits desserts whereas I was hoping to have more stuff like yam, red bean or even chocolate :)

maybe its just that what i expected is different from wat is served there.

Oh man, where do I start? One word to describe Ice Monster = SHIOK.

Upon entering the shop, you will see lots of newspaper cuttings on the wall. But what captured our attention was the colourful pictures above the counter.

3 of us shared a jumbo mixed fruit snow ice ($8) . Contains kiwis, mangoes, strawberries and mango sorbet. The fruits were amazingly fresh. The mangoes were the sweetest of all. It's quite difficult to find sweet strawberries so we didn't complain about that.

As it was sweltering hot that day, the huge bowl of snow ice really refreshed us.

They have lots of other varieties as well - visit their website. You will be craving for it after looking (because I am).

Ice monster has opened another branch at plaza singapura. I heard they are selling crepes as well. Gotta try it soon!
