John 3: 16 has the BEST services if you are looking for your camera. The staff there are real friendly, and always more than willing to answer your any doubts or enquiries.
Just asked them for a hands-on experience on a dslr or camera, and there was no slight frown, or look that says "are you really going to buy?"
Leslie is the one who attended to me, and he's very knowledgable about the products that he's selling. Real friendly too. I had some hands-on testing with the dslr, and he patiently explained to me the difference between the diff models and lens.
But, good services come with a price after all, the quotes you get from John 3:16 will not come cheaper than the other shops. In fact i think the price tag is slightly higher by $20-$30?
Not much diff, but still enough to buy another additional memory card. If you are the kind looking for service and don't mind paying a bit more, then John 3:16 is definitely the place for you, but if you don't mind poor service, so long can get a cheaper deal, den please look else-where.
Oh ya, i forgot to mention, John 3:16 lot is totally pro-canon. They support canon, so despite me telling myself they are not biased, but i cant help feeling that they will advice and tend to pyscho their customers to buying canon products.
One obvious part which i noticed was, John 3:16 is not a Nikon authorised dealer. And i wondered why.

The intimidating thing about stepping into a photo shop is when the sales staff start firing technical mumbo jumbo at you that makes you feel either very frustrated or very inadequate. It doesn't help also that at the back of your mind, you're thinking this guy's trying to rip you off.
At John 3:16 on the 4th floor of Funan Digital Mall, sales manager Samuel ever-friendly and non-intimidating demeanor makes you feel at ease. Together with his side-kick Leslie, they provide excellent service. Whether you are a newbie or a professional, the advice and info they provide are pitched at your level.
Most of all, what I like best about this place is that you are free to ask them to let you try the cameras and lenses to your heart's content. No nasty looks or sarcastic remarks even if you don't buy. Instead, you get a nice & sincere smile and a thanks for your interest.
I've bought photo equipment for many years and this is the best place so far. Of course there's a big photo shop in a nearby building but service is so-so only and tend to be impersonal.

There are some shops where you feel like you are invisible, it seems like no one notices your presence. At John 3:16, you know you exist! Getting the attention of the staff there is easy as just walking up to them with your enquiries, no matter how busy they are. They seem to be able to multi task well.
Price wise, it is not the lowest around but at least they have stock. Been to a shop nearby and was quoted a hard to resist price, but they have no stock, so it was as good as that.
Their sales staffs are also not intimidating. You can take your time to look around and decide on what suits you best. No worries if you do decide to think about it and come back again to make the purchase. They will be on hand to serve you. At least that was my experience.

If good service is what you really like, this is THE place to visit for your photography equipment needs. For the few times I've been there, Samuel and Leslie were REALLY friendly and helpful.
The staffs all seem to have great product knowledge, and they really do give you honest opinions on which product would be more suitable for your needs.
They are not perfect, of course. Their prices may be a little higher than some cheaper photography shops in Singapore, but they are still very reasonable. And being a small shop with all the staffs providing excellent service, it is inevitable that the shop can get crowded at times, and getting any service at all can be difficult.
So do drop by during non-peak hours, and you will be amazed by the service they provide. I was so surprised that Sam could already remember me by name after patronizing them only once!
Definitely a 5-star!
