I find pepper lunch very normal leh. Although the serving is quite big portion. The ingredients quite limited bah. I guess its the sauce which make it feel tasty other then that quite bland. What i meant by bland is because besides the rice, sauce, corn buds and the meat there aren't anything else, like no veg or additional ingredients. So since I have already given it a try it is not something I will look forward to. Maybe to me, $10 I can have more choices bah.

My first time there, I was rather confused over what to order and what to do when the food is ready. Luckily, a staff came to my rescue.

I like their juicy steak and hamburger set best and never fail to ask for more taugeh. Their sauce is rather nice too.

After a good meal, I will leave the place smell of bbq.

Tip: Pepper Lunch outlet which is within foodcourt is much much cheaper than those on their own. The ones in their own establishment cost about $3-$4 more than the ones I tried in foodcourt. Food selection seems pretty much the same.

From far you will be able to smell the strong pan fried smell from Pepper lunch restaurant .

Thanks to the voucher that Temasek poly gave ( open house ) My friends and i decided to go to the nearby pepper lunch at AMK and have our lunch.

In the first place, all of us were in a confused state as we don't know what to choose !

SO we spent about 15 minutes before we had our orders,as we went ahead the counter we saw a big signboard that state " a set meal of 4 for $20 " WE were thinking - if we have known it earlier we won't be wasting our time and had our stomach churning loudly!!!

But sad enough, the meal consist of one beef pepper rice , one salmon rice , two soft drink , two salad and two ice-cream ! BUT NONE of us eat BEEF so we asked them if we can change to other meat. Disappointed , the staff told us that the meal is fix and cannot not change .

In the end, we took the meal as it is still worth it compare to individual order.

The salmon is still ok , not that fresh, while for the beef pepper lunch my friends comment that it is not as nice as what she though .

However , their concept is definately is creative !

Below are some pics to share .

=Shake, stir, mix – every Pepper Lunch meal comes with easy instructions on how to unleash every tantalizing flavour.

=With its unique design patented in Japan, the iron plate is part of the successful formula of Pepper Lunch. Using a special electromagnetic cooker also patented in Japan, the iron plate will heat up to 260C in 70 seconds and remain hot (approximately 80C) for more than 20 minutes. Meat grilled at this ideal high temperature, remains tender and juicy. The plate keeps food warm for a longer time and customers can enjoy the full flavor of the dish.

=Great Steak, Your Way. This is exactly what you will find at Pepper Lunch. Using premium beef from Australia and New Zealand, Norwegian salmon, selected chicken thigh meat and finely sliced leg of lamb, Pepper Lunch delivers a sizzling meal served on our special iron hot plate. And we invite you to experience the fun of cooking your meal yourself, just the way you want it: lightly seared Shimofuri Pepper Steak in our unique butter for maximum flavour; medium done tender Hitokuchi Cut Steak drizzled with honey brown sauce; beautifully browned Hamburger Steak with the perfect fried egg.

=Last time try out the Sukiyaki Beef, to me, it was too salty... Not very good. I hope it will come out with prawns set meal. I love the beef pepper rice, hamburger steak with fried egg, Rib Eye Steak, Pepper Steak, Salmon Pepper Rice and “Goma” Black Sesame Flavor. The paste and curry rice I don't really like it. Curry rice I think is too dry while the paste after cooking for a while become sticky and too soft.

=But still, I LOVE PEPPER LUNCH. I was enjoy waiting for the new memu to launch out. q^_^p. Last time, there was lamb steak that taste really good too.

this outlet is the first time I went for any Pepper Lunch. We went there for dinner and first impression wasn't all that great.

Customers especially those as new as us would be confused of the sitting arrangement and ordering system. Perhaps instead of having staffs standing around to answer queries, they could have a notice board or something with instructions. The customers would not have the perpetual "blur" look when they first enter the restaurants.

Food. Not that great. At least it does not give the wow factor but merely some new experiences to a different way of eating. Cooking the food though is interesting, seeing the raw meat on the plate doesn't increase my appetite. Not a balanced meal as they served bean sprouts and very little of other vegetables. Cooking the food also cause a smell to be emitted while we struggle to stir the veges.

On the whole, I wouldn't visit Pepper Lunch often. Perhaps I will visit when I feel like cooking but lazy to buy ingredients

Went there for lunch with my colleagues today. I had been to other outlets but some of my colleagues had not step in Pepper lunch before, therefore they are very interested to see how the whole thing works. Haa....

While waiting at the entrance, there is a big menu to choose from, all the different combos they have and at the same time there is a TV screening they way that you should "do" to your food when they arrive to ur table. Hee.... We were given our table number and order at the cashier while the waiter put the table number on our table.

            So we ordered:
Combo Chicken and Steak with egg (Mine)
Combo Chicken and Lamd with egg
            Chicken Pepper Rice with cheese
            Curry Beef Pepper Rice

Mine came 1st so I can show what they can do with their food. All of them are quite excited of what they can do with their food. Haa.... Soon all of them arrived and they managed to cook their food before the heat dies off. Haa....

Adding the egg is quite interested as you can determine how you wanna ur egg to be like. Mine ended up scrambled egg. I like to add the Honey Brown sauce to my meat and the Garlic Soy sauce to my veges. Haa... The chicken is tender and juicy even though some of it are stuck to the hot plate, while the beef I managed to cook it to medium rare, which is also good.

One of my colleagues who had the lamb say that there is no "yang siao wei". The meat is very tender as well. Quite surprising as it seems that they did not do anything to the lamb at all. Haa....

Overall, my colleagues like the idea and their food. In fact they say they will come back to try some other dishes next time.

The service there is quite fast and good. From the cashier to the waitress who served us our food are prompt and polite.

One thing, I dun like is after the meal, tend to smell like the food. Haa... Well there is nothing they can do about this as well.

Total bill came up ot be $50, whihc is considered decent. Seem like we will be back to try other of their dishes sooner than expected.

Was quite confused with the ordering process at my first visit. First I was given a number card with my table number. Then the guy at the entrance will place a matching table number at an available table for the number of guest. Then we placed our order, collected our drinks and had to sit at the table given to us. (You cannot choose to sit at another table as it'll all be numbered.)

Food came and we had to cook our own food. Pour in the sauces and start cooking your meat on the hot stone. All the sizzling and cooking created a strong smell that filled the entire place. I personally wouldn't like sitting there for too long after my meal. Kinda stink the clothes.

Had my second visit at Pepper Lunch yesterday. My friends were there before me and were about to finish when I arrived. I queued to order my food and from my previous experience, I requested for a number card. The guy asked where I sit and I told him my table number was removed as the food already delivered. He doesn't seem to understand me as he kept asking for a table number! I repeated myself again this time slower and pointing to my table. Then finally he understood. But he seemed rather lost not knowing what to do. Later he told me to inform the cashier when placing my order. So I did. And the cashier gave me a confused look again! I'm totally lost. What's so difficult about giving me a new table number? Later he checked with the guy again and then he told her to give me a table number from her sets of numbers. Walking back to my table to join my friend, I asked myself, what's the difference from the guy at the entrance giving me a number and the cashier giving me a number? Aren't they the same?

The food was alright. Its the concept of cooking it yourself and the special sauce they have that makes it a novelty for customers. Other than that, I don't see what's so good about it, considering the smell and price and service, I'll rather not have my meal there.
