like how this magazine looks different from all other magazines. pictures inside are mostly sketches, with only the few occasional actual photographs displayed. it is basically a catalogue-style magazine with no lengthy articles, aunt agony columns, but just splattered with lotsa pictures of pretty things to give u that urge to bring the handbag-sized magazine out and buy those items featured.
not to mention the smitten shopping week deals, which can be rather enticing.

This is new magazine is quite good. I like that it contains many fashionable clothes, accessories like bags, shoes, jewelry, and other interesting stuff.
It's useful that they show you how to match the clothes, and furthermore, they show the price of the items and where to get them from. The clothes featured in this magazine are also more "wearable" to me. They are not too exaggerating and high-end. So it's more practical for me.
There are also lesser commercials in this magazine as compared to the rest.
However, on the down side, there are rarely any lucky draws inside (so far I have never seen any). And it's not easy to purchase this magazine because it's often out of stock.

I subscribed to them when they were having a roadshow at Orchard in 2007. I thought that it was great, they had a great concept and all. And the magazine was pretty and up-to-date. But arrival of magazine delayed for two times already! When its late, the customer would then not be able to enjoy the subscription discounts/freebies/etc! I called them up when i saw the December issue up on newsstands, and my address was right. I called them up once again yesterday, to ask for this January/February's issue. Perhaps I shall just take it that they are still a new company. The new year season should not affect them that much too. Quite dissapointed. I really hope that this won't happen ever again.

A new magazine up in the market! I think it's about the 4th issue now, or maybe a couple more. Can't remember. I heard about this magazine only from someone else. Guess they didn't really do much publicity. Nonetheless, after browsing through it, I was rather impressed. This is by far the most extensive shopping magazine, and I mean SHOPPING man. The girls will love it! It has pictures of clothes/ bags/ accessories etc. Everything a girl needs. What I really like about it also is that it doesn't contain those long and (sometimes) boring life-story articles and stuff. I mean, hey, it's a SHOPPING magazine!
However, I must say that everything in this magazine is pretty expensive. Even those special deals you get from each issue of the magazine are not exactly that worth the money. I guess it's a magazine targetted at single working women who has a higher propensity to indulge on these things and pamper themselves. I'm a student myself and I think this magazine doesn't quite suit me. The most I can do with it would be to just look. Quite sad you know..
But whatever right! It's a darn cool shopping mag and I want it! So during the Yebber fashion fusion last year, I made my order for a year-long subscription! Excited, I thought I'd be getting my next issue in my mailbox soon! As you can see, it's 30th January now. One more day to the end of the month. But I do not have my magazine yet. So what am I supposed to do with those special deals that I'm interested in using when the magazines come?
From what I heard from people at Project Smitten, they have their own delivery system. Well, from what I see now, I guess I can only say that it is not an efficient one...

I simply love this new magazine. It's COOL and it is different from other magazines as it's shows real fashion instead of commercial advertisements. Smitten totally stands out among the rest of the reptable magazines.

I'm loving every bits of this new magazine! Saw this new magazine at the newsstand and was attracted by its name - Smitten. Curious to know what's it about, I picked it up and glance through the cover and saw that this copy is their debut issue and topics looks pretty interesting.
Project Smitten is the name of the magazine. (Smitten reminds me of kitten. Small, cute, playful, fun, pretty and mischievous!)
Flipping through the pages of Smitten and I'm greeted by the faces behind Smitten. In Smitten picks, the key ladies in Smitten share they favorite picks for the month. This gives me, as a reader, feel closer to the magazine as I'm able to match the names to faces. Loving this!
Every page you flip to, you'll find the trendiest and uber stylish fashion. Best of all, they show you exactly where you can get them! Even the cute little puppies.
Another section I love is the spy section - spy now and smitten spy. You'll be able to find rare finds and hidden treasures locally, internationally and in the www in these sections.
The smitten decorate pages are also one that I simply adore! I love everything pretty, cute, quirky and cool. Decorate now shows you where you can find these cool stuff to add on to your collection. Great pages to flip through if you're considering buying unique gifts for your friends.
Smitten is one mag that I'm so going to subscribe!
Oh, did I mention about the Smitten Society card that gives you great discounts during the Smitten Shopping Week? Go grab a copy of smitten to find out!
*****Updated 6 Jan 2008*****
Was delighted to have received my first subscribed delivery from Project Smitten (Jan/Feb08) this morning at my doorstep. Since I’m at my CNY shopping mood, I quickly flipped the pages and see what they’ve in store for us. Spotted a “Hot Buy” of a bag organiser from M)phosis on page 55 of this issue and wanted to get one for myself. Went shopping at Bugis Junction and stopped by M)phosis to ask if they’ve stock for it. Looks like, I’m not the first who was there to ask about this bag.
The salesgirl asked which magazine I saw this bag in and told me that the bag I was looking for was from months ago! They no longer carry it! I asked if they’ll be bringing in more, she said it depends.
I was quite upset that this thing happened. Why does a fashion magazine publish a product that was already not on sale? I was very pleased with their content once. But after this incident, and many other which I’d heard (from their facebook group), I guess they’ve got to improve a lot more to gain back the trust from existing subscribers and attract new ones.
Dropping my 5 stars rating to 3.
