have been going to toa payoh safra for at least 10 years and the place really needs an overhaul. it was scheduled for demolition and reconstruction of a new clubhouse in 2007 but it was halted halfway, citing rising construction costs. after that, there was no news about the reconstruction, but suddenly, the buildings were given a new coat of paint etc.

compared to yishun or mount faber, toa payoh clubhouse pales considerably. the pool is minute and irregular in size, gym is big but old, the one and only tennis court used to be worse but the fence was replaced and court resurfaced.
