5 Reviews for “Settler’s Cafe (Central Outlet)” - Food and Beverages
Went once with 5 friends of mine, and it was a hoot! Although we only managed to play about 2 or 3 games, it was a pretty darn fun experience!
There're not many places in Singapore that allow you to have as much childish fun as board game cafes. :D
'Who's the Boss?' was the most memorable of all the games. Do try it if you drop by!
Anyway, not all is fine and dandy with Settler's... if you notice, it's a board game cafe. The "board games" part is totally fine and fun, but the "cafe" part.... kinda non-existent, if you ask me.
Unless you count half-cooked spaghetti as food, that is. They can do way way way better in the food department. Heck, my 8 year old cousin can probably do better than them, haha.
So my advice? Just go there with a full tummy and play to your heart's content!

i celebrated my birthday at this place last year.
it's a really good place for friends to gather together and you'll never be bored especially with the whole rack of games you can choose from.
the staff there are really friendly and helpful, and when we couldn't decide on which game to play first he took the initiative to recommend us a game which is suitable for our group. he also explained to us patiently how the games go about. most of the games that we tried, are games that we never seen or heard before, and they were of awesome fun!
if you get hungry throughout the games they also have a whole list of tasty snacks and beverages you can order from.
its really a place worth checking out!

Been there with a group of friends to celebrate my BFF birthday. though there were only 8 of us, we made it sound like there was 15 of us. super noisy, but the staff there didnt mind.
they are really friendly and recommended us a few new games. they were kind enough to teach us the basis of how the game is played even though there were alot of people coming in into the cafe. they were patient with some of us who didnt understand it.
we spilled a couple of drinks a few times throughout the whole night but they graciously helped us to clear up. was rather embarassing but they didnt not reprimand us.
the snacks there are very nice, especially the chicken. and they drinks are really refreshing. do drop by. only a 5 mins walk from clarke quay mrt!

I had been to this outlet about some years ago with my cousins. At that time it had just started out so there weren't many people there but the array of games they had really left a very deep impression on me. Before that I didn't even think we could have so much fun and spend so much time with just boardgames as entertainment. Furthermore, as I set a record for 1 of the games that day, I received a free mocha. haha added plus. :)
2 days ago, I went there again. This time with a group of friends. When we reached there, we were assigned 2 tables on the upper level maybe because our group was too big? (10 people). But in the end we merged into 1 table so we could have better bonding. haha. As it was a public holiday, we could not enjoy priveleges like ladies night etc. so we ordered a deluxe package (for 6) and standard package (for 4). The packages included 2 hours gaming time and drinks for all with a party platter and a side dish of our choice. (we chose chicken wings) and then we started playing.
The games as usual included unique card games and board games good for bonding and interaction. No worries if you don't know the games cos the staff there are friendly and they'll explain the games to you.
I would recommend this place for large groups of friends cos you would be able to try the games suited for more people, and of course it'll be a more happening and louder affair. haha. However, unless you order the main courses, it'll be best to grab a bite before you go there. If not you might be left hungry after sharing the platter within the big group :p An alternative is having supper together after the gaming session, like what we did. heh.
On the whole, I think it's quite a good place to chill out with friends, but it's almost always fully booked so remember to reserve seats first!

Have been to this outlet twice & I love the staff there. They're so friendly & provide really good service.
I remembered my group of friends & I were the last to leave the last time I went. We went crazy with all the forfeits & the staff were laughing at us from behind the counter. We even get them to join in the fun & they did!
They've got quite yummy finger food too. E.g. Chicken wings, their party platter is good too.
However, it can get really crowded. So, do call & reserve a place before going down. :)
