I totally vote for Shaw Century Square over TM GV. Their seats are really one of the most spacious and comfortable I ve seen in Singapore.

Moreover, most ppl go for GV TM so less crowds, short queues for tickets and best of all, parking in Century Sq is much cheaper than TM.

The only negative thing about Century Sq Shaw is the air conditioning. As like most places in Singapore, it is set way too cold for comfort. It's really a mad mad situation here in Singapore. Why we need to suffer the torture of cold winter in a tropical paradise like Singapore?

Pretty much the best cineplex in the east. Much more spacious than Golden Village at Tampines Mall.

Slightly less choice in movies, but they do have the popular ones, so why not... Seats are quite old, but rather soft and lots of space. But one or two times I went there, there was quite some litter left behind from the previous movie... It's ok most of the time though.

Less seats available than at Tampines Mall, but they're so much less people so it doesn't really matter.

Overall, a good cinema to go to.

eversince i go century sq shaw cinema many many years ago, i nv visit other cinemas elsewhere. I'm serious, and averagely i watch movie every week or every 2 weeks.

As wat others have mentioned, i also dun understand why ppl go TM GV instead? Maybe they got more discounts or coupons or gimmick? And ppl ignorance about the century sq shaw?

Well, to me comfort of the chair (broad, tall and well-cushioned), good leg room and good viewing angle is of utmost important. And not forgeting, short queues when buying tickets and less crowded less noise in the theatre.

Oh btw, even if u sit their front row u still can watch comfortably unlike other cinemas which squeeze every inch out of the floor area!

          yes.

i definitely prefer Century Square over TM. !

i seriously have no idea why everyone prefers TM.

Century square is less crowded. ANd i love the seats. they're so big and comfy!

of course, GV has more shows at times, and, their NACHO CHEESE is still the best.

but more often than not, i always coax the ppl i'm with to go to SHAW. coz, at the end of the day, comfort is better than luxury :)

I can agree with that too. Sometimes i find it strange why people chose to go to Tampines Mall GV rather then Century Square's Shaw. It seems that Shaw is a substitute most of the time if there are no space at Tampines Mall.

The seats in Century Square are great! Most importantly, it is arranged in a way that the front people would not block those at the back easily if they are tall, unless other cinemas because of the couches seats. Better for shorter people like me... haha!!

So unless there's no movies offered by Shaw at Century Square, so find some time to try to cinema out.

Century square cineplex is not too bad..The back rest is actually higher so those that prefer it that way. Many people goes to GV at TM so it leaves more seats available in century.
I enjoy watching movie in the morning cos i pay the same price and is actually having the cinema all to myself.

In the past, I never really bothered about the smell or the quality of the seats in cinemas. But after reading what people have to say, I subconsciously begin to notice these things. Lately, I've been to 2 cinemas and it did give me some grounds for comparison. I realized that actually the cinema at Century Square is not bad a place after all!

                I like the place because firstly, they don't have any weird smells around. Instead, they had this slightly sweet smell lingering in the air! I don't know what was that, but it's better than something stinky right. (;

Secondly, this place may not be brand new but their seats are a fair distance apart so it gives some reasonable leg space. Only that I think if people were to be through, there'll be a slight problem, unlike GV Marina. It has big leg space!

Thirdly, I like the seats! I think it's one of the more comfortable ones I've been to (other than Suntec City, where I sat on the couches! Haha). The seats curve in a certain angle, somehow it suits your back shape better. It makes it comfortable for seating for a long time and doesn't give backaches (for me at least =x), as compared to when I was at GV Marina Square. But I think a comfortable seat is more important than anything else!

Well, it's not too bad a place I guess. It's not that packed most of the time I think, as more people seem to go to tampines mall just beside. I think I'll probably go there more, now that I find a more comfortable place (:
