7 Reviews for “Singapore Expo” - Arts and Entertainment
Singapore expo. It reminds me of a malaysia outskirt village where you have to travel for super long just to get there. I wonder why do they ever build it there in the first place. Because it is cheap?
However, after when there is a MRT station there, the accessibility started to get better, by a bit only. People still need to take a long time just to reach there, but it is still reachable.
the expo has some redeeming factors, not that it is totally bad. one of them is that it is super huge! you can seriously get lost in there if you do not know the place well. another one is that the carpark is quite big, and there is another huge "carpark" for you to park, which is the industrial estate. People usually go there and park their cars by the side, thus saving parking fees and time to look for a lot.
Maybe one good thing of the expo is that people may not want to go there cos it is so far away. As such, there will not be that much people squeezing with you. Overall, expo is seriously not that bad.If you like the exhibitions to be big, i can safely say that space constraints is not a factor over there.
Rating: 3/5 (If not for the distance, i will go there more often)

Definitely no where as good as Singapore Indoor Stadium...
First of all, it's in the middle of nowhere (unless you study at temasek poly). Drive? There's never any parking. Public transport? The bus takes too damn long, and the mrt can sometimes take up to 10 mins (or more) to arrive at tanah merah station, just to travel that one stop, less than 3 mins away.
Secondly, it's overcrowded with people. I suppose it would be worse if you had an exhibition hall in the city (like suntec), but if you have NINE halls side by side, it's crazy. On top of that, 2 of the biggest churches in singapore have their weekly weekend services there.
Thirdly, I can't stand it when artists hold concerts there. The place just isn't meant to be a theatre or stadium, its an exhibition hall for goodness sake. What's wrong with singapore indoor stadium, victoria, esplanade....
The only reason why you would be there is if the exhibition is just too big to put anywhere else. At the end of the day, that's all expo is, a huge air-conditioned empty piece of land, with an undersized carpark.

Actually its kinda waste of money they put the place where hardly people are nd somemore the stuffs over there is very highly expensive to me aspcially the food, once i went there and order food from the stall and when i was ready to eat the food is already cold and i'm having food poisoning from there ....
that palce is very quiet. thay should demolish it and opened it at the city area. Change the whole stting the government cut our taxes alot and they should renovates it it i bet singapore can do it.
i think the place there isn't good for people to travel even buses you have to wait quite sometime thats why i have to walk all the walk to ITE simei to take bus..

I've went there a few times before. And I can say that, unless there's a warehouse sale over there,I wouldn't consider going there at all.
I haven't been to any concert held in expo,as it is quite obvious that it isn't the best place for concerts.
As most would know,it is located at a very 'ulu' place, and takes me about more than an hour to travel there by train.Although travelling time is slightly lesser by bus,I'll have to the train to Expo after getting off the bus at Tampines MRT station. Not only that, the place is really crowded whenever there's big event going on.It's hard even to find a place to eat sometimes.
With the travelling expense and crowd,it's only worth it when there's a sale and you get to save some money shopping there.

I never really like to go concerts at the Max Pavilion for the following reasons:
1. The location. Jz damned ulu and far.
2. Transportation. The cab going out from there have surcharge, the MRT ended its run around the same time the concerts ended, and bus stops are a long way as well.
3. The seating arrangements are bad as they are on the flat ground. The tired seats are all the way back at the concert hall.
4. The sound system. Not really good for the past few concerts I had been too. A lot of interferences for the sound systems. Sometimes, music too loud and cannot heard the singer sing etc.
5. There is usually a large crowd as there are exhibitions, church servcies etc. This will lead to not enough parking lots etc.
The only reason y I go there for concerts cos the singers I like decided to go there to hold their concerts. Sigh... Give me indoor stadium anytime!

I definitely agree with Yebber Do here. I went for the Eason Chan concert there sometime ago and I decided that it was to be my first and last concert that I would be watching there. The seating arrangement sucks and the chairs are nowhere comfy. Imagine paying your money and getting those steel chairs that you see at Carrefour?
Next, the sound system ain't that superb either and the image projected on one of the big screens was actually laterally inverted!! It was simply a huge turn-off for me.
And similar to what Yebber Do, the only good thing for me was that Eason Chan gave a good performance that night, which was sort of a consolation for all the rest of the disappointments..

I went to a Alan Tam concert held at the Singapore Expo. The venue is bad. Poor parking, lousy sound system, extremely poor stage setup and seating arrangement. If you are not paying for the top $ seats, don't waste your $, pay for the cheapest, it will be the same or even better than those in-between. Anyway, if can avoid this place totally.
One thing good about this event is Alan Tam is still excellent in his singing performances.
