as you walk past AMK , you will never fail to notice their banner and signboard of Sumo house Jap restaurant.
Even though they said , their jap food is the cheapest but i feel that there is not completely right....
Although,their have cheapest Katsudon which is only $2.90...but there is only one price at $2.90..while the rest is$2.90 and above......
they said they provided free flow of green tea but do take note that is HOT green tea .
i ordered the $2.90 while my friend ordered another one at $5.90 and a cold drink which cost around $1.20.
both come with two slices of orange, one small vege and one miso soup.
the chicken is mostly chicken skin as few were meat.....no wonder it causes $2.90...
i guessed my friend's one was better.........
anyway...as for me ...i will not return to the shop again as there are many other nice food in AMK compare to sumo house.

I went to this branch twice as it offers one of the cheapest Japanese cuisine. I prefer udons and will order the Katsudon. However, it's too salty for my taste and to my disappointment.
It's a good thing that there is free flow of green tea. The portions are just right for me and they have promotions now and then.
The tables are just right for my elbows but if I were to make any huge motions with my arms, the customer next to me will be hit in the face.
That said, the air-conditioning needs to be worked on too.

In summary: Value for money!
With the cheapest meal - Katsudon at only $2.90, it's the most reasonably priced Japanese restaurant in Singapore!
I used to go to the TPY branch but it closed down a few years back and I'm sooo glad I found it while lost in AMK yesterday!
The standard of the food is good and the price, cheap. I ordered a Tempura Bento Set and it's only $5.90 (excluding GST) and the portion was quite big for a girl. The rice was real Japanese rice (albeit not that high quality but still good enough) and the tempura consisted of 2 prawns, 1 sweet potato, 1 brinjal, 1 lady finger and 1 capsicium. In the bento set, there's also salad, oranges and pickles. It would have normally cost more than $10 at other Jap restaurants but only half the price here!
The green tea is free flow with any order. GST is charged but no service charge!
The only thing is the place may be a bit difficult to locate if you're not from AMK so do check the street directory before going!
