I tried the mini collection , and I don't think the tininess justfies the price. Furthermore, I find the chocolate used extremely bitter. Located in a prime location in the heart of Orchard Road, right next to the Isetan supermarket, I was expecting better. Sad to say, I don't find it have any unique offerings.

However it seems to be extremely popular so expects to queue.

The price is comparable to Breadtalk, Four Leaves and etc, but I do think you can find equally if not better pastry at these bakeries.

I like the tuna bun here. Its good. And at one point of time you could collect some stamps and then redeem bowls or plates or something like that.... the bread here is better than Oishii. Its softer. And doesn't have a weird smell. I like Sun Moulin Bread and I have been eating it for years! Yummy...
      They sometimes sell mochi!!~ ^.^

their mini bun collection is quite nice. i'll try their bigger buns next time!

        cinnamon donut
my friend raves over this, but i find this actually below average. anw my fave donut will alw be from jco. might change cos i havent tried krispy kreme yet :p

        mini floss bun
puts the breadtalk one to shame, honestly! the sun moulin bun is softer and has more bite. somehow i find breadtalk's one very..airy. this is much more satisfying (:

        plain croissant
[second pic] my sis and other yebbers say its very good. so i guess it is..

cream cheese donut with choc drizzled on top
[first pic] even after i dropped it on the floor (by accident, of course!) it still tasted super nice. haha which is really saying sth..abt how much i wanted to eat it and how good it was. soft donut with milky (but not overwhelmingly so) cheese inside..oishii!

Walked past this bakery shop while on the way home. Was hungry so went in to grab something to eat.

There was quite a variety to choose from. Their mini category immediately caught my attention. They looked cute and appetizing.

I bought a few from the mini category which cost around $0.60 each, and a dorayaki which cost $1.40.

I think they tasted quite nice. But a little costly for the size.

Anyway they still look good and I think will be nice to buy for a mini party at home or something.

Sun Moulin is located just beside the Isetan Japanese Supermarket at Lido. My food partner and i went there after our lunch at Tetsu. I believe those who frequent the supermarket will need no introduction to this delightful bakery.

There are quite a wide range of breads, pastries, and cakes around, with prices ranging from 1 to 2 bucks, quite similar to your more commonly found Breadtalk and Four Leaves.

I was so full from the lunch at Tetsu, but my food partner is amazing, she brought quite a few home!

She has tried almost all the bread and pastries at Sun Moulin, so below are some of the ones which she highly recommended.

              Soft An-pan ($2)
The soft An-pan is actually more familiar to most of us as the red bean paste bun. But at Sun Moulin, they use Hawaiian Bread dough. Soft and fluffy!

              Belgian Waffle ($1.30)
The Belgian Waffle caught my attention first because i’m a sucker for good waffles. And at $1.30 its definitely worth a try, even though the waffle might be a little small in size. It will be excellent if you managed to get them hot off the pan.

              Zebra Mini Croissant
There are a few selections of Croissant here, with $0.65 for one, $1.80 for 3, and $2.70 for 5. Naturally the more you get the cheaper it is.

              Petit Sesame Croissant
Crispy layer of dough, with black and white sesame.

              Mini croissant
Mini-size croissant, try the original taste!

              Mini Choc Croissant
Your mini croissant now comes in chocolate flavour!

              Double Taste Bun ($2)
Enjoy 2 kind of home-made taste, chocolate and custard cream inside.

My food partner got the double taste bun for me, and boy the bread is really good! Peeling off part of the bread, fills my nose with aroma of the warm chocolate and custard cream.

The bread is super soft, and its delicious even eaten on its own!

Total bill for 5 items were $9.10. I only tried one of the bread, and i’m already thinking of going back to Sun Moulin for more! My plan is to go there on an empty stomach, then order a lot of different bread to have them for lunch!

Sun Moulin’s bread are definitely better than your typical bakeries (you-know-what), and the prices are also in about the same range with the most expensive bread at 2 bucks.

Sun Moulin (Shaw House) - Food and Beverages

Sun Moulin's Mini bun is real nice.

I was using the MRT underpass (on my way to wheelock), when i suddenly stopped by a very strong smell. A very nice smell indeed and it seems like its coming from a bakery.

True enough, the smell get extremely strong when i reached the Sun Moulin bakery located at the basement of isetan. It is basically a japanese bakery where all the bread are specially flavoured and nicely designed.

Guess, that is the real reason why many people are actually flocking over to grab their buns. Their most popular item have to be their mini creation. This is so as every customer is sure to have one or two from their mini creation.

The mini creation are sold in one, threes or five. Each tag a different cost. Of course, the most you buy, the more saving you will get. However, i am not sure if they only offer the promotion during that period of time (evening).

Its really not a bad idea to buy their mini creation during evening time as that is the time where they keep coming out with fresh supply of bun, cakes, pastry and mochi. I also went to pick up a few pieces of nice looking buns.

Of all, i prefer the chocolate bun the most. What gives my thumb up is definitely the bun texture. Its super soft and the entire bun feels light (which means you will not feel full with this), its also gives me an impression that i am eating the puffs (as they have similar texture). I fall in love with it just by tasting the first mouth.

The bun looks nice just coated with chocolate and chopped almonds. A very nice surprise that they gave me is that they actually fill the small bun with chocolate too.

Personally i feel that the amount of chocolate in the bun is just right, so one will not feel sick of eating too much chocolate. Their chocolate is also specially created so that it is not too thick and sticky.

Grab some if you are around the area. They have quite a few different type of buns. If you do not like chocolate, they have floss, cheese, coffee, apple, etc. Sure to have one flavour that will fit your taste. :)
