Had dined at thai express with my family to celebrate my dad’s birthday:D
This is not the first time we dined there and we have got their membership card.
There is the birthday month specials, where we are entitled to 15% off and a complimentary platter which was a generous serving. That was one of the reasons we chose to dine at Thai express;D

I ordered the egg noodle with fish in tom yam soup, and I felt it was nice(:
It was not too spicy, and the flavour is rich. Love how the egg noodles tastes like...soft and smooth.(:

Overall, the food was delicious, just the service part was not very satisfactory.
But for the nice food…we would continue to dine at thai express:D

I went there on monday and didn't have a good experience where i used to get. I requested for non-garishing on my food, as I couldn't take raw food. The server noted on the order chip, but still garish is severed.

Upon the delivery of my food, I requested that the garish is to be removed, as per my order. Well, only the garish that I have specifically ask was removed unprofessionally.

I continue to have my food till I realized that the coconut milk served has turned sour. I told the waitress about the sour coconut milk. She just informed me that she will inform the kitchen and she did nothing else.

The Family decided to go Thai this Sunday, so we dropped by Thai Express at PS. Surprisingly, considering the queues at the other outlets, Thai Express was quite quiet (the crowds came after we were seated).

We were welcomed and seated by the manager/supervisor(?) Mr Matt Nor who is a delightfully friendly person. He took the time to see that we were seated comfortably and offered us water (3 chilled, one hot, as we like it). I enjoyed being addressed by my name, which gives the whole experience a certain homeliness and familiarity. Of course we are very familiar with Thai Express, having dined at the chain for many years but the whole atmosphere of sanook is not always as evident as it was at this outlet. Thanks Matt!

For starters (but which only arrived after we had eaten our mains?!?)

Prawn Toast ($6.90). Nice and crispy, very flavourful, just the way mum used to make it. Nice chilli dipping sauce.

Olive Rice with Chicken ($9.90). Slight, not over-powering taste of olives which gave it a good aromatic sensation.

Basil Beef Rice ($10.90). The strips of beef was really nice and tender with a hint of basil. Very flavourful.

Black Pepper Softshell Crab Rice ($10.90). Mum likes softshell crab, so she enjoyed this dish very much. The black pepper sauce was a little salty though.

I swear by my fave Thai Seafood Laksa in Jade Green Gravy ($9.90) which has nice big pieces of tender fresh fish, cuttlefish and prawns, together with eggplant and potatoes. Also provides some soup for the rest of the family who were having rice dishes.

We ended off the meal with a serve of Steamed Tapioca with Coconut Cream ($5.90) which hit the spot and ended the meal on a high note.

Will definitely be back to this outlet!

          Nice Mee Sua~

Dont go to Thai Express often but when I do, I have the Mee Sua Kaeng Chued Gai ($9.90) which is 'Thai longevity noodles in double-boiled chicken broth".

There's something about chicken broth and noodles which is very comforting to me, especially when I am terribly hungry and cant eat anything tomyam-ish because of gastric. The noodles are more like the Malaysian 'dou qian' made of bean flour which makes them not soggy even after they've been cooked and soaked in the broth for some time. The broth is tasty but light; and the bowl is topped with mushrooms, some greens, and chicken pieces. My only grouse is that the chicken was not marinated and needed chilli to lift it up.

Yam Mamuang ($6.50) - Mango Salad. Adequately small portion for a starter and I liked the fact that the dressing is not too tart as compared to other places. A bit too heavy on the small onions for me though.

Service was abit haphazard, with staff rushing to and fro, some over eager while others were nonchalantly blur. Expect queues on Fridays and Saturdays too. It more a eat -and-go place so no ambience to speak of.

            YAY ate thai express today.
I have cravings for thai express sometimes.

I tried Thai Green Curry at Sticky Rice at AMK hub one day and tried it just now at Thai express. Sad to say but it's better at AMK hub.

But it's still relatively good, but the chicken meat was so dry it tasted like the chicken was thirsty when it got slaughtered.

But the others still taste as good, one of the better Thai Express branches so far.. :)

service was kinda good too although they ask stupid questions sometimes...but it was out of courtesy so it's ok :)

Who doesn't know Thai Express? This chain expanded really fast and it's now all over the place. I even have one just a stone's throw from my place.

Popped by the one at PS just recently with a friend. We were nicely greeted and shown to a seat quickly. It was a Sunday afternoon and PS was brimming with people but Thai Express was only a quarter filled. Well it helped that there were many eateries around the area I guess.

We quickly decided on our food and the server asked if we'd like warm or iced water. I like that she didn't just assume that everyone wants iced water.

              Food ordered:
              Kaeng Khiew Mangsawirat ($8.90)
Green Vegetable Curry served with Rice
I'm used to green curry that is much milder and has more flavour but this one was much spicier. There was a lot of vegetables though and it was pretty filling despite what people might think.

              Poo Phat Pung Kari ($9.90)
Curried Soft Shell Crab with Eggs and Onions, served with Rice
This one's curry was less spicy, more mild. Complete opposite. But the curry masked any oilyness soft shell crabs usually have so it was a pretty good dish really.

              Fresh Prawn Wraps ($5.90)
Fried to a crisp, the wrap was very tasty. The prawns were not as fresh as one would expect but still acceptable I guess.

Acceptable food with pretty good service at an acceptable price I guess I will be there again.
