the stuff in art friend seems to be really expensive but i guess we do not have much choices if we want to find a place large enough to get all the materials for art.

they do have a wide variety of materials though, for polymer clay, candle making stuff, pretty scrap book materials, some beads.

i realise that they do organise lessons for polymer clay making to teach the basics like making a carrot, which is quite good but they should also organise classes for more complicated ones like blending clay or texturing cos its harder to learn by just reading the books or surfing the net =)

they should even organise other art lessons(candle making) which will benefit us and them cos we get to learn to make good things and they get to sell!

Art Friend is a good place to go to when looking for materials for art works or projects. I like this place because they have a wide variety, and it actually gives me more inspiration on the spot when I see the many things they have there.

However, although this is the biggest branch, it is also the most crowded one. The crowd is due to the fact that many people shop there, however it is also due to the poor organization of the shelves in the store. It has quite a big shop space, but the shelves are arranged in such a way that there is not much walking space to accommodate to the crowd they meet each day.

I feel that the shop is under-staffed too. Either that, or they are really unfriendly. Each time you ask for help from one of those working there, they seem to be always on the move looking for something or moving things. As a result, they give you'd feel like you've got a very half-hearted answer from them, which actually is quite annoying. Not only that, there is always a very long queue at the counter. With such good business, I feel that they should open more counters, or the queue would actually be blocking the way of many others. Also, it could be quite a turn off to have to queue so long.

Art Friend is one of the most well-stocked places where you can get your art supplies. It boasts a large variety of every single thing you would need for your art piece. They even have art supplies targeted for artists on every level from the kid artist to the professional ones. If they don't have it, they could order it in, if you're willing to wait.

However, the staff isn't very friendly. They will not offer help and are usually found at the counter (if they can be found at all). But you could ask the customers there for help. Plenty of art students there who could give advice.

The pricing of their items vary. Some of the things are much more expensive but they also have bargain items.

I would usually head there if I know that the things I wish to find are quite hard to source for.
