I was quite impressed with the range of products they carry and the no. of sales person they have.

I saw the banner on Nikon's promotion and went in to have a look at the products. A sales person by the name of Vincent came to me and ask if he may help me. Obviously I needed help badly. I explained to him that I am a newbie who is looking for somethings which I myself don't even know. I also told him that I ask around and read a lot and wanted to have something that can help me to shoot nice photo. I basically wanted a driver that can drive 200m without having to rotate my whole body. ie, I want a len hopefully to do all I wanted to do. Better still if it is a f2.8.

He recommended me Nikon D60 or D80 because it is on offer and Nikon has a good 17-200mm VR len. But I wanted the 'live view' and he said none of the camera's live view is auto except Sony alpha 350. Besides, A350 (1199) has a stabilizer build in to the body instead of relying on the stabilizer on the len. He recommended ZEISS f3.5 16-80 ($1399) and Sony f3.5 18-250 ($999).

I was told to get the Canon and now is confused by Sony. I really like this guy because he is the only one tell me something good about A350. Infact, A350 has 3 things I like.
    1. Auto focus Live View
    2. Tiltable Live View for downward view ( like Seagull )
    3. Inbuild body stabilizer

But what I don't like is the body ( like plastic ) and not much accessories. Prices for accessories are also relatively expensive. Besides, I was told by my friend the body stabilizer does not help or eliminate the need for the len's stabilizer.

In the end I didn't buy from him. But His attitue is by far one of the best salesperson I ever came across. He never look down on me for not knowing much about cmera and he is not pushy at all. His explanation is valid and clear and I really learn a lot from him.

If you want to know what I landed with, see other review ( if I ever write ).

This place is very much hidden, but I’m glad I managed to find them through Yebber.

There were 2 other customers when I reached. I sat down and was immediately served by Tim. We discussed about the type of haircut I want and he gave his suggestions and views.

Overall I like the service and the final look managed to “WOW” me. Tim gives very good head massage too! If you’re tired and needs a little boost in the head, you can pop by just for wash and blow service. It’s well worth it! I will be going back in a month or two to cover up the highlighted part and chop off more hair!

After getting cuts from female stylist all this while, its refreshing to get my hair done by a male stylist. And in fact, I find the guys more careful and he pays more attention to little details when cutting, washing and styling. Surely a plus for this!

During my 3 hours at Flhair Salon, I saw many other customers coming in with either messy hair or hair that’s way too long for their look. But they all left with great hair and better look! Being guy stylists themselves, they sure know what’s in and best suitable for the men. Many customers that came today were guys too.

They’re having a 20% discount now! (Till when I’m not sure. Can call them to check it out ya.)

Friendly staff, great service, lasting colors!

My mum has never tried pedicure before, hence I decided to bring her for a pedicure session on Mother's day. I've passed by Scratch many times and always wanted to try their service. Called them few days before mother's day and managed to get an appointment set for Mum and myself in the evening of Mother's day.

The salon is very big and spacious. Brightly lighted by the natural light coming from outside. The place is kept clean and to the minimum. And the furnitures used are from Ikea. Another thing that's close to my heart.

The lady who attended to me is very outspoken and friendly. She's the supervisor of the place. If I'm not wrong, her name is Claire. She's very detail during the pedicure process. And she'll share tips on keeping our feet nice and healthy. The entire process was enjoyable and filled with giggles and laughter. She sure knows how to make her customers happy. And the final outcome of my feet was smooth and the nail coating on my toes were perfectly flawless! It looks like a new coat even after more than 2 weeks!

As it was Mum's first time doing a pedicure after more than 40yrs. And with her daily standing and soaking of feet in water, her feet has always been hard, peeling and dry. She has got very bad cracks on her leg too. After the pedicure and a spa wrap (in white chocolate!!), her feet is as smooth as baby's feet! She loved it so much, she couldn't stop feeling and touching her own feet after the session!

We were both very satisfied with their service and has signed up for their 6-sessions of pedicure. Looking forward to going back again soon.

This is one place we frequent when we dine at Ang Mo Kio. This outlet of Ramen Ten has been around for many years, and they've been constant with their food standard and service all these while.

Everytime I go, I'll order the same dish, the same drink and almost 90% of the time, I'll be sitting at the same table too! Ha!

My favorite from the menu is the Super Spicy Ramen that's served with minced chicken and lots of chili padi! When I'm hungry, I'll add $2 to get the big bowl (extra noodles). I'm a fan of spicy food and this one gives me the kick everytime I eat it! And to cool off the spiciness, I'll drink their homemade barley (cold).

Nice place with reasonable pricing and friendly service staff. Of course, I'll be going back again whenever I've got cravings for spicy ramen! :)

Cafe Domus is a hidden treasure which I simply adore! The location makes it special and unique in its own way.

Located along stretch of retro shop houses, the entrance to Cafe Domus may look simple and modern, but what's hidden within is a paradise for friends to chill and great photoshoots too!

I love the simplicity of the design and the clever use of its existing landscape to create a backyard that is so unlike the usual Singapore hangouts.

This is one place to go to chill and catch up with a group of friends.

*Anyone keen to do a photoshoot there? I want to do it!

Having tried small piece of the Unagi Pizza at Pastamania, I simply needed more. Since we were around one outlet, we decided to have our dinner there.

He ordered Aglio Olio Pasta, adding Chicken to it, and I had the Unagi Pizza.

The place was quite packed since it was a weekend. Thus we waited quite awhile for our order to come. Good thing we ordered the set that comes with soup, drinks and toast. Else I would have suffered from hunger due to the wait.

10mins later, the pasta came. Having paid extra for the chicken, it was quite a disappointment. The chicken was tasteless and it didn't go that well with the choice of sauce.

After a long wait, the pizza didn't come. He took his time to eat his pasta, but even so, the pizza didn't come after he finished his pasta! We checked with the manager on duty and he told us the pasta is coming soon. True enough, the next order that came out from the pizza counter was my Unagi Pizza.

Due to the wait, my tummy was already missing the hunger that it initially have. Looking at the pizza infront of me, I didn't quite have the appetite to finish it.

As expected, the pizza was nice and yummy when eaten hot. Taste of the sauce with the unagi and thin crust of pizza makes eating it enjoyable. (It would have been better if we didn't have to wait that long for it.)

Have been thinking of buying a treadmill for so long but have never seriously looking into one. I did visit shops and roadshow for the treadmill but the prices are out of my 'willing to pay' range. Seriously, I do not know what is the right price to pay for a 'good enough' treadmill. Of ourse, as low as possible in my mind.

I went to see an offer unit which is only $999. The cheapest in town. But I don't like it when I see it. It is so small and narrow compare to others and there is no feature at all. Not even the basic incline feature. The sales person recommend me another one of higher grade, it looks OK but it costs $2500. I cannot make up my mind at this high cost, so I gave it a miss.

Few weeks later, I happen to see this treadmill roadshow by Aibi. As usual, I went near to take a look at the offered model. The salesman came to me and started telling me the good points of the treadmill. I didn't answer him nor did I sounded interested. He kept on talking and explained the different between a few models. There were 3 models he was comparing, one at $1988, one at $2488 and another at $3680. I was quite keen on the $3680 model because I want to be sure I have no regret after buying it. I know expensive may not be good but the cheap one can never be the best. He said he had worked in this company for 8 years and know the machine well enough to give me a good recommendation. In fact, irregardless what he said, I believed he has sized me up to be the $2500 budget customer.

After quite a while, I decided to response to him by a few questions. He knew I was caught already. I kept asking him the difference between the $2488 and $3680 models, he kept telling me to take the $2488 model because it is not neccessary to spend the extra $1192 for a machine which is bigger in size and perform the same thing. He thought I would appreciate for his kind intention.

When I finally signed up for the $2488 treadmill and filled in my address, he straight away change his word and tell me I should take the $3680 model. I jokingly told him that he is a 'Sian Tau', he laughed and he even agreed to let me have the machine exchange to the $3680 within a month if I am not happy with the $2488 model.

I find this salesman 'bluff' his way through but with a sincere and friendly attitude. He knows how to tune himself to suit the customer although his answer is always neither here nor there. He can even conflict himself wih his own answer. I still buy from him even though I knew all his tricks. Because I have seen many worse salesmanship and this is consider acceptable to me.

I must say that I have no regret buying the machine, but was a little unhappy that the salesman didn't highlight some important issues. The basic function is the Start/stop button and the program function. When you press the 'stop' button, the machine stop immediately. This is dangerous after running for 10 mins at level 6 or higher. The human body will react to it and cause some giddiness if the machine suddenly stop. Next, the machine start so slow when I press on any pre-program function. I have to adjust the speed manually and this defeat the pre-program function. While I can't demand for any explanation or change to the way the machine is designed, I have to use it in 'manual' mode all the time.

Check out on the start/stop button if you need to buy one.

    48. Tea Cosy

    Love the salad and desserts.

Together with few Yebbers, we joined a foodie eat out at Tea Cosy. We had a selection of mains from the planned menu just for the gathering.

For the set, there was the homemade mushroom soup, infamous decadent salad, choice of main (laksa pasta, grilled lime chicken and pan fried foie gras). Paid $25.90 for pasta or chicken. Those who took the foie gras paid $32.90 .

It took them quite awhile to get the soup served. The mushroom soup was alright. Nothing special about it. Then after another long wait, the salad came.

It's quite sad to see the portion smaller than usual. Isn't it supposed to be a special promotional set? Promotional in terms of pricing and not the serving size right? If paying lesser for sets means getting lesser in serving, than what's the point of getting the promotion? Or at least it should be made aware to the customers that the salad served will be of sampling size or something? That aside, everyone at my table had to agree that the salad live up to its standard. The mayo on it was very tasty. Vegetables was fresh and the entire combination (with the saddening few tiny pieces of foie gras) was good. This will be the only thing that'll tempt me to go back for more.

The chicken was alright. Grilled to slightly charred on the outside and the sauce was alright only. Vegetables on the side could have been crunchier.

The desserts were not bad and I'll recommend girls who want a place to hang out over mini tea party to check Tea Cosy out. It's quite an experience with all the unique antique furnitures.

Overall my first experience at Tea Cosy was average. At times I feel upset too. This I shall not talk about it since it was a miscommunication between the mid-shift waitress they hired just for that night and us. In fact, the management should have given a better briefing before the night. Or perhaps get a more experience waitress the next time.

The only think I remember now is the smelly table. :(

It was quite a bad experience when I was there for dinner. When we walked into the sitting/dining area behind the serving/ordering counter, the place was quite messed up with tables and chairs misaligned and many tables uncleared. We sat ourselves at the "cleaniest" table we can find and looked at the menu. The food was quite cheap and there were quite a lot of variety. Then we spotted a piece of A6 paper with scribbling of some promo set available. $7.90 for main course with drink. (Can't remember if there's soup thou.)

We ordered the Grilled Sirloin Steak and Seafood Aglio Oli both at promotional price of $7.90. Added Fried Calamari for starter.

While waiting for the order, a lady came to clean our tables and after she wiped the table, there was a strong stinge of smell left behind by the cloth she used! It was as thou the cloth has been left unwashed for few days! Smell worst then toilet can? What disgusted me more was that the same pair of hands that handled the smelly table cloth was serving the food and folding paper napkins loh! I had to apply medicated oil on my nose to cover the smell. And when our food was served, all my appetite was gone. Good thing the food was still presentable the least.

When my steak came, I then realised that we didn't get to choose the done-ness of it. It was cooked, almost to complete well done. So it was too tough to chew. Didn't really enjoy it. Boyfriend's pasta was a tad better. At least the seafood was presentable and of a good size. There was more of a black pepper taste instead of how aglio olio pasta should taste like.

Our starter was then served after the main courses. (Hmm...) We should have expected what was served since it was only $2.50 for the Fried Calamari. It was pathetic and the calamari was overcooked. Again too tough to chew.

Guess I was just unlucky to get this kind of experience at Spagetti Too since the 2 ladies before me enjoyed themselves at the same location. Chef was different perhaps. And the lady serving was different too?

Mini delights to warm one's heart.

After staying away from sweet and oily donuts for awhile, I decided that its time to try something new. Saw this store at IMM few times I was there and finally decides to try it.

I used to be a fan for egg tarts before the craze for donuts. And this little store serves sweet little tarts with quite a number of different fillings. The original one looks like the usual Portuguese's egg tarts but of a different shape. I bought two flavors, the Melting Chocolate (shown in photo) and the Strawberry one.

The tart is soft yet the texture is well maintained. It's not too buttery nor eggy. Taste is just right. Topped with chocolate chips and inside filled with melted chocolate. The piece I got, the chocolate was only visible when I bite off almost half of the tart. But once there, every bite into the tart is greeted with just the right amount of melted chocolate and egg. Great delight when ate while its still warm.

The strawberry filling one is a tad too sweet for my liking. Perhaps the next time I will give the savory choices a try. They've the Mushroom Chicken and Pepper Chicken tarts too. Pretty unique since most egg tarts sold in the market are usually sweet ones.

The only sad part is their pricing. Each tart goes at $1.20. And you'll only save $1.20 if you buy 12 pieces. Not that encouraging for customers to want to buy more at a go. 12 pieces is a tad too many, unless you're buying for a party or to share with friends at gatherings ya?
