We pop by this outlet on the higher floor of Orchard Central for a nice BBQ dinner on a cool friday evening. Good thing we had a booking, otherwise we would have to queue and mind you the queue was not short. A choice of indoor and outdoor seating and we've decided on indoor which is proven later a rather lousy decision.
Outdoor was pretty good for BBQ as its not as oily, smoky and you won't smell like grilled chicken when you are off to your next nightsport. The view was nice and place was decorated pretty cosy, but we sat inside.
Table given to us was too small and rather tight while the BBQ Plate take up about 1/3 of the table, we are left with meagre spaces and since its a booth seat, there was no place to hide as the oil splatters while the juicy meat sizzler.
The selection of raw meat was good, veg pretty fresh and the seasoning of the meat was quite yummy. I tried some of their potato salad and found it a little stale with the cream going a little sour. Mushrooms was almost always out of stock and we had to make do with other things which kind of got on my nerve.
I also tried a couple of their ready cooked selections and the chicken wings is overated... its only averagely yummy and the other stuffs like kim chi pancakes and fish cakes are average.
I must say, this is a convenient location with good ambience (if you seat outside) and to eat Korean BBQ on a windy evening is pretty nice.
Service is only acceptable as we booked for a group of 6 and only 5 came yet we got cramped into a 4 person booth seat and everybody was unhappy with the space and not allowed to change. We are just disappointed but will return with smaller groups and outdoor seats...
Oh yar dining indoor is generally oily and dodgy. The seats were oily, floor oily and rather stuffy and we couldn't get out.... *frustration*

Loving Cedele to the max because of the healthy ingredient used, lovely bakes and great cake selections. If you are looking for a healthy meal, this is one of the most interesting place with a great selection on the menu and hearty breads, cakes and muffins at a very reasonable price for the high quality ingredients used.
Cakes: I love this the most especially the chocolate banana with oat cake. Its a heavy cake yet i know it is made with the best ingredients and is the kindest of all the chocolate banana cakes from elsewhere... It is creamy yet chocolate is thick and of the right sweetness. Cake is spongy and moist while banana add on to the aromatic flavor. The combination is heavenly. Be sure to try the carrot and walnut cake too.
Breads: My favourite, the orange swirl is a WOW-LER.... I mean i couldn't stop wow-ing... its heavy and is available in a loaf yet they could slice it for me. It moist and spongy with loads of healthy orange jam inside with a slight whiff of cinnamon, this combination is exceptionally good and i just couldn't stop munching on it. Its good to consume within the day because when kept till the next day, the bread grew a little hard, which also means almost no preservatives were used i guess...
Beverages: Have you checked out the beverage section? Besides the healthy, organic selection of teas and freshly brewed coffee, they serve also hearty fruit juices and with a choice of including CHIA seeds.. while... i mean CHIA SEEDS are like super Omega Perkers... good stuffs
Last I would love to mention the soup, they have a selection of about 2-4 to choose from and my favourite, the clam chowder which is chunky and love to add loads of pepper to it.
The review is getting too long and well the mains on the menu is also fabulous... I better leave some words for other outlets... I'm CEDELE's Biggest Fan :)

I had been meaning to try Les Amis for the longest time and the wife and I finally got down to it one sunny Saturday afternoon. Les Amis has been around for 20 years and is regarded as one of the pioneers of independent French fine dining in Singapore. It has also consistently appeared in various rankings as one of the top restaurants in Asia and the world (ie. 14th in Asia's 50 Best Restaurants by San Pellegrino in 2013 and 2014). Expectations were high, naturally.
I like the high ceiling and chandelier but couldn't quite wrap my head around the two levels of seating (the 3 private rooms are on the mezzanine floor whilst the normal seating is on the ground floor. Maybe it's just me but I didn't get a very good vibe upon stepping in; The place just seemed a tad too stuffy for my liking.
Complimentary Bread - A decent enough basket of bread to quell any growling pangs before the meal proper. This proved to be very useful later on.
White Asparagus In "Blanc Mange", Oscietra Caviar - The white asparagus came in the form of a blancmange (flavoured dessert made from glutinous or starchy ingredients and milk), which came across as creamy and smooth with a distinctive asparagus taste amidst a mousse like texture. Topped with caviar for that salty slant and aesthetically surrounded by a ring of sour cream to cut through the fishiness of the caviar. Nice but too much of sour cream and blancmange together can be a tad nauseating. A very decent start nonetheless!
Warm Lobster Encased Within Baby Spinach Accompanied By Classic Fish Bone Sauce - I couldn't quite make out the significance of the baby spinach leaf as the taste didn't quite feature but the warm lobster encased within was very good; crunchy with flavours accentuated by the creamy yet not too rich fish bone sauce. And finished off with salty fish roe. I liked this dish but found it tiny and a tad overly fishy.
Angel Hair Pasta With Lobster, Crispy Sakura Ebi And A Touch Of Parmesan - First impressions, "god it's tiny!". Al dente angel hair pasta topped with small, crunchy lobster pieces, crisp sakura ebi that provided a nice crunch and chilli flakes for that mild fire; All simmered in a broth that had a beautiful crustacean flavour to it. Only gripes I had were that it was a tad too salty (and believe me, I have quite a high salt tolerance level) and that it tasted rather pedestrian, like a more refined version of 虾面 (prawn noodles).
Hot Souffle Of Reine-Claude With A Refreshing Yoghurt Sorbert - The Reine-Claude (greengage) souffle was a tad soggy but relatively light. Served with a mildly sour yet sweet yoghurt sorbert. Pretty nice way to end off the meal.
Petit Fours - Lemon madeleines and vanilla canelés. Not great, especially the canelés, which came across as bitter and hard on the outside. The lemon madeleines fared slightly better, sporting crisp edges and a mild lemony taste.

Have you gone to the VivoCity golden village? nothing much has changed through the years but the ticketing level seemed to shrink in size. The cinemas remained comfy, air-conditioning (less chilly) felt just right and the seats are still clean though the facilities should have aged quite a bit. Was there for a movie but with the various new theatres coming up, Golden Village Vivocity, once being the most sought after cinema venues have not lost its appeal with me. The popcorns are not as yummy as the ones at Shaw and well, Digital and Sound is not as techy as that of Cathay's new venues but it still brings back the old memories.Love the idea of a second level popcorn counters where you can easily purchase snacks and drinks while halfway through the movie. Well its been like 5 years since we last reviewed on this location and I must say... its still a very good location for movies and afterwards you can grab some good food at the menu restaurants downstairs and perhaps a little shop (and i can hear the boys exclaim "OMG!!!")

Mostly singing pop and rock hits with a lovely sound system. Prices were pretty reasonable and love the oyster deal where you can get $5 oysters with every beer ordered...
Service was pretty good, quick and efficient while it does get crowded later in the evening, so be sure to grab a seat before 7:30pm and preferably one that is not too near the band it could be noisy.. well, who chit chat when the band plays... oh i forgot... my band of girls do.... Hm.... no wonder we always end up with a sore throat everytime we go partying...i always thought it was the chicken wings.....

Though the previous dining style is much preferred due to the variety of dishes we can choose from, this style of a bistro is a good change as now we have more service and attention. Well attention was not easy to grab as this location is mostly crowded even on weekday eves, however getting a seat is not difficult as the restaurant is spacious with a good layout with little wasted space.
The menu was a little sad looking as compared for the reputation Marche has built through the years with my favorite Rosti nowhere to be found however, the Pork Knuckles and many infamous dishes were maintained. So we look through the huge one page menu and decided upon a few yummy dishes.
1) We had lemonade for drinks as home-made lemonade seemed like a good opener for all the oily food we are to consume next. Lemonade was of a good citrus mix and was proven to be a good choice.
2) Bacon with Figs in a honey mustard sauce was yummy but in a small portion. We practically popped them into our mouths in one go and it disappeared. This dish was addictive as the savory bacon skwered with the sweetish red dates was a heavenly combination, not forgetting the a good dose of the honey mustard sauce.. oh well, it was a generous bowl of more honey than mustard combi... as from this point onwards, everything goes into this dip.
3) The pizza was rather regular... sauce and hand-rolled base has no "WoW" effect, while the toppings were just not exciting. Its comfort food for us and well the portion was good... they managed to slice it into 10 pieces of squarish looking sizes that are easy to handle.
4) Roast Pork was yummy... came in a bed of mash and some greens drizzled with balsamic vinegar. The crispy skin crackles underneath my teeth and the soft meat tempted me not to stop. It was pretty good i must say.
Well dessert looks interesting and pancakes I will not fail to try them out the next time round... Love the ambiance and well price was pretty average for the environment and the location. Portion was okay for mains but tiny for appetizer... Would love a better selection of beer and wines.
We were on the lookout for pancake places in Singapore when we chanced upon Little Pancakes, a little shop on the ground level of an apartment along Upper Thomson Road. To be honest, it was the cute pancake pictures that attracted us.
The interior isn't big, with capacity maxing out at about 10 pax or so but it has this cosy cafeish vibe to it; Dark walls, wooden furniture and cute little signs like the one above. Ordering and payment is done at the counter and your food will be served to you.
Big Fan Of All Day Breakfast - What a mouthful! The name of the dish, that is. And it came with ten mini pancakes (side of syrup), scrambled eggs, a couple of mini sausages, potato salad and greens. The pancakes were soft with a little fluffiness and mildly sweet. Being snack sized, there was no issue of the flour being undercooked in the middle but I would have liked the accompanying syrup to be a tad thicker (tasted very similar to the hotcake syrup from McD). As for the scrambled eggs, it also tasted similar to what the golden arches serve albeit a little more moist while the sausages were well, your off the rack sausages. If that's insufficient, the creamy potato salad will fill you up real fast! Pretty decent.
Chick & Cheesy - This was essentially two layers of cheese sandwiched between two mini pancakes and topped off with mini sausage. Pretty decent and something that might appeal to your inner child. The only difference between this and the All Day Breakfast is the cheese, which comes in lieu of the scrambled eggs. Personal preference really but do note that this is slightly cheaper.
Brunch for 3pax with drinks cost just over $41, which is relatively reasonable given that there is no service charge or GST. Food quality is decent (pancakes are above average) and miles better than Batter Fluffy Flaps in my humble opinion. Worth a stop if you are in the area but I wouldn't make a trip specially to eat here.
A shop full of pretty things ranging from handmade leather pouches to pretty printed and carefully embroidered table cloths. The shop houses many pretty things, specially crafted by artist that produces in small lots as such many items are unique and you may not find them anywhere else.
Love the decorations on the shop, the eye catching vintage bike in white and blue parked outside the shop with a wooden bench to seat and read is enticing for curious cats like me. The sweet panoramic voice singing in French as i entered the shop seemed to quite fit the theme of the interior decorations of this pretty and characteristic shop. While I looked upon these beautifully displayed items categorized from artist to artist I felt I have been brought back to the small book shop at a backstreet in Florence. Many things caught my eye...
1) Leather bounded Note books / Diaries - I love note books and to scribble, as they felt more real than my mobile phone. Here you can find a good selection of notebooks, be in real or faux leather and I've found some in fabric as well as tape binded... Really interesting
2) Cat Bow Ties - Found these pretty pet collar which i assume is for cats that came in bow ties and little tiny ties in printed fabric.
3) A selection of CD compilations in French - These selections sounded great, at least the one that is playing on the background sounded soothing and I feel immediately artistic - fied...
4) Post Cards - Found many interesting postcards with interesting pictures and slogans... Though i do not collect them yet I wish I have started to do so.
5) Air Plants - Yes i found living things... beautiful little air purifiers landscaped to look like a real jungle :)

If you are reminiscing your last trip to taipei, then you should head on down to Eat at Taipei in which i was also very surprised to find some really yummy but uncommon selections on their menu. Adding to that is the very interesting location of this cafe with plenty of seats, right next to the ice-skating rink in JCube.
It was a lazy saturday and we've decided upon watching happy skaters wheezing pass us while we dine at EAT AT TAIPEI. The entry was confusing as nobody was at the counter to lead us, (looking understaffed), the cafe wasn't even half filled with people however the staff was busy walking up and down and we sat on a table overlooking the skating ring. Well, they have bar seats where you are right next to the rink however judging by my teenie weenie skirt and indecent exposure is not recommended, as such we stuck to our spacious square table.
The selection on the menu was pretty interesting with a good selection of street food and staples made famous by the night markets in Taiwan. We were ecstatic and though we loved fried stinky tofu and oyster vermicelli we decided on the Braised Pork Rice and Da chang Bao Xiao chang (Grilled taiwanese sausage with rice).
1) Braised Minced Pork Rice ($10.50), was a little too little and was too salty. Not too yummy with no wow factor. Just averagely good.
2) Grilled Taiwanese Sausage ($8.90), was overpriced and the oyster sauce added was inappropriate and salty, though the look was good but was not even 20% close to what was served in taiwan, lets not talk about the famous yummy Da Chang Bao Xiao Chang.
3) Fresh Soy Milk ($3.50) was not fresh as a matter of fact it tasted like instant soy milk, what a let down.
4) Wet Tissues ($0.60) in which we didn't use. We were not aware that they charge for wet tissues and well there were no dry tissues available too.
5) NO WATER SERVED.... yes, they don't serve plain water, not even from the tap... good grief.....
Will not return, however we give them the benefit of the doubt that the other stuffs on the menu might be good. Dessert selection was not good too but nice deco and good effort. Staff was pretty efficient and did what they should do.
Cashier was a counter not within the sitting area, so its pretty not obvious... Silly me actually walked entrance to entrance twice to make payment....
Welcome to the new Korean / Japanese Street-wear Street. I was very surprised to find this level at the JCube Shopping mall to have transformed into a marketplace with many small shops selling hip and up to date fashion, accessories and some interesting things that we seldom could find elsewhere.
Blinking sign boards and even a social wall that allows hip youngsters to take pictures and get uploaded. I mean this is way cooler then squeezing into the photobooth having paid $4 if not more and ending up with a picture tinier than a posting stamp with a shocked facial expression. Love the new transformation and the opportunities for seasoned vendor, entrepreneurs and leisure small business owners to own a stall to sell their items for a period of time.
I checked the place out months apart and find the stalls turnover to be quite stable. There are still empty spaces or I should say more spaces are being overhauled to add on to the marketplace. Well I must say the facilities, amenities and space given for each shop is good and it does get pretty crowded on weekends with mostly teenagers and students hanging out. Love the good variety of finds while I window shop through the spacious walkways. I spotted korean fashionable ladies clothings at a good price of $10 - $20 and some jap streetwear looking accessories like scarfs and cuffs with another shop that sells all korean famous movie stars apparels and memorabilias.
There are a few snack shop, not forgetting the ever so popular Bubble Tea Chain GongCha has also a space here, a cafe that sells ice cream and waffles, one more that provides ice-kacang (taiwan style snow ice) as well as sandwiches and knick knacks to munch on when you shop. I tried a savoury pancake which sadly was not well made however I think it will serve well as a walk around snack for teenagers especially the ham and cheese (pizza like) flavours.
The place is clean, aircon cool and theres some sitting and resting benches for those who wants a short break. The place is well-equipped for big crowds and very convenient as its a stone throw away from the Jurong East MRT Station. Its a pity that there weren't any sign boards that could popularize J.Avenue as with the current many malls opening up at Jurong East, one could be very distracted and confused when it come to this place. Just be sure to head towards Jurong East's oldest Mall, the one nearest to the library and pop up to level 2. Otherwise look for a west side resident like me to bring you around. #sgwestrocks

Well attention was not easy to grab as this location is mostly crowded even on weekday eves, however getting a seat is not difficult as the restaurant is spacious with a good layout with little wasted space.
The menu was a little sad looking as compared for the reputation Marche has built through the years with my favorite Rosti nowhere to be found however, the Pork Knuckles and many infamous dishes were maintained. So we look through the huge one page menu and decided upon a few yummy dishes.
1) We had lemonade for drinks as home-made lemonade seemed like a good opener for all the oily food we are to consume next. Lemonade was of a good citrus mix and was proven to be a good choice.
2) Bacon with Figs in a honey mustard sauce was yummy but in a small portion. We practically popped them into our mouths in one go and it disappeared. This dish was addictive as the savory bacon skwered with the sweetish red dates was a heavenly combination, not forgetting the a good dose of the honey mustard sauce.. oh well, it was a generous bowl of more honey than mustard combi... as from this point onwards, everything goes into this dip.
3) The pizza was rather regular... sauce and hand-rolled base has no "WoW" effect, while the toppings were just not exciting. Its comfort food for us and well the portion was good... they managed to slice it into 10 pieces of squarish looking sizes that are easy to handle.
4) Roast Pork was yummy... came in a bed of mash and some greens drizzled with balsamic vinegar. The crispy skin crackles underneath my teeth and the soft meat tempted me not to stop. It was pretty good i must say.
Well dessert looks interesting and pancakes I will not fail to try them out the next time round... Love the ambiance and well price was pretty average for the environment and the location. Portion was okay for mains but tiny for appetizer... Would love a better selection of beer and wines.

We were on the lookout for pancake places in Singapore when we chanced upon Little Pancakes, a little shop on the ground level of an apartment along Upper Thomson Road. To be honest, it was the cute pancake pictures that attracted us.
The interior isn't big, with capacity maxing out at about 10 pax or so but it has this cosy cafeish vibe to it; Dark walls, wooden furniture and cute little signs like the one above. Ordering and payment is done at the counter and your food will be served to you.
Big Fan Of All Day Breakfast - What a mouthful! The name of the dish, that is. And it came with ten mini pancakes (side of syrup), scrambled eggs, a couple of mini sausages, potato salad and greens. The pancakes were soft with a little fluffiness and mildly sweet. Being snack sized, there was no issue of the flour being undercooked in the middle but I would have liked the accompanying syrup to be a tad thicker (tasted very similar to the hotcake syrup from McD). As for the scrambled eggs, it also tasted similar to what the golden arches serve albeit a little more moist while the sausages were well, your off the rack sausages. If that's insufficient, the creamy potato salad will fill you up real fast! Pretty decent.
Chick & Cheesy - This was essentially two layers of cheese sandwiched between two mini pancakes and topped off with mini sausage. Pretty decent and something that might appeal to your inner child. The only difference between this and the All Day Breakfast is the cheese, which comes in lieu of the scrambled eggs. Personal preference really but do note that this is slightly cheaper.
Brunch for 3pax with drinks cost just over $41, which is relatively reasonable given that there is no service charge or GST. Food quality is decent (pancakes are above average) and miles better than Batter Fluffy Flaps in my humble opinion. Worth a stop if you are in the area but I wouldn't make a trip specially to eat here.

A shop full of pretty things ranging from handmade leather pouches to pretty printed and carefully embroidered table cloths. The shop houses many pretty things, specially crafted by artist that produces in small lots as such many items are unique and you may not find them anywhere else.
Love the decorations on the shop, the eye catching vintage bike in white and blue parked outside the shop with a wooden bench to seat and read is enticing for curious cats like me. The sweet panoramic voice singing in French as i entered the shop seemed to quite fit the theme of the interior decorations of this pretty and characteristic shop. While I looked upon these beautifully displayed items categorized from artist to artist I felt I have been brought back to the small book shop at a backstreet in Florence. Many things caught my eye...
1) Leather bounded Note books / Diaries - I love note books and to scribble, as they felt more real than my mobile phone. Here you can find a good selection of notebooks, be in real or faux leather and I've found some in fabric as well as tape binded... Really interesting
2) Cat Bow Ties - Found these pretty pet collar which i assume is for cats that came in bow ties and little tiny ties in printed fabric.
3) A selection of CD compilations in French - These selections sounded great, at least the one that is playing on the background sounded soothing and I feel immediately artistic - fied...
4) Post Cards - Found many interesting postcards with interesting pictures and slogans... Though i do not collect them yet I wish I have started to do so.
5) Air Plants - Yes i found living things... beautiful little air purifiers landscaped to look like a real jungle :)
I will be back to explore more.... but photography is prohibited in the shop as such i've provided some pics of the outside so you could easily recognise it... Love the place

If you are reminiscing your last trip to taipei, then you should head on down to Eat at Taipei in which i was also very surprised to find some really yummy but uncommon selections on their menu. Adding to that is the very interesting location of this cafe with plenty of seats, right next to the ice-skating rink in JCube.
It was a lazy saturday and we've decided upon watching happy skaters wheezing pass us while we dine at EAT AT TAIPEI. The entry was confusing as nobody was at the counter to lead us, (looking understaffed), the cafe wasn't even half filled with people however the staff was busy walking up and down and we sat on a table overlooking the skating ring. Well, they have bar seats where you are right next to the rink however judging by my teenie weenie skirt and indecent exposure is not recommended, as such we stuck to our spacious square table.
The selection on the menu was pretty interesting with a good selection of street food and staples made famous by the night markets in Taiwan. We were ecstatic and though we loved fried stinky tofu and oyster vermicelli we decided on the Braised Pork Rice and Da chang Bao Xiao chang (Grilled taiwanese sausage with rice).
1) Braised Minced Pork Rice ($10.50), was a little too little and was too salty. Not too yummy with no wow factor. Just averagely good.
2) Grilled Taiwanese Sausage ($8.90), was overpriced and the oyster sauce added was inappropriate and salty, though the look was good but was not even 20% close to what was served in taiwan, lets not talk about the famous yummy Da Chang Bao Xiao Chang.
3) Fresh Soy Milk ($3.50) was not fresh as a matter of fact it tasted like instant soy milk, what a let down.
4) Wet Tissues ($0.60) in which we didn't use. We were not aware that they charge for wet tissues and well there were no dry tissues available too.
5) NO WATER SERVED.... yes, they don't serve plain water, not even from the tap... good grief.....
Will not return, however we give them the benefit of the doubt that the other stuffs on the menu might be good. Dessert selection was not good too but nice deco and good effort. Staff was pretty efficient and did what they should do.
Cashier was a counter not within the sitting area, so its pretty not obvious... Silly me actually walked entrance to entrance twice to make payment....

Welcome to the new Korean / Japanese Street-wear Street. I was very surprised to find this level at the JCube Shopping mall to have transformed into a marketplace with many small shops selling hip and up to date fashion, accessories and some interesting things that we seldom could find elsewhere.
Blinking sign boards and even a social wall that allows hip youngsters to take pictures and get uploaded. I mean this is way cooler then squeezing into the photobooth having paid $4 if not more and ending up with a picture tinier than a posting stamp with a shocked facial expression. Love the new transformation and the opportunities for seasoned vendor, entrepreneurs and leisure small business owners to own a stall to sell their items for a period of time.
I checked the place out months apart and find the stalls turnover to be quite stable. There are still empty spaces or I should say more spaces are being overhauled to add on to the marketplace. Well I must say the facilities, amenities and space given for each shop is good and it does get pretty crowded on weekends with mostly teenagers and students hanging out. Love the good variety of finds while I window shop through the spacious walkways. I spotted korean fashionable ladies clothings at a good price of $10 - $20 and some jap streetwear looking accessories like scarfs and cuffs with another shop that sells all korean famous movie stars apparels and memorabilias.
There are a few snack shop, not forgetting the ever so popular Bubble Tea Chain GongCha has also a space here, a cafe that sells ice cream and waffles, one more that provides ice-kacang (taiwan style snow ice) as well as sandwiches and knick knacks to munch on when you shop. I tried a savoury pancake which sadly was not well made however I think it will serve well as a walk around snack for teenagers especially the ham and cheese (pizza like) flavours.
The place is clean, aircon cool and theres some sitting and resting benches for those who wants a short break. The place is well-equipped for big crowds and very convenient as its a stone throw away from the Jurong East MRT Station. Its a pity that there weren't any sign boards that could popularize J.Avenue as with the current many malls opening up at Jurong East, one could be very distracted and confused when it come to this place. Just be sure to head towards Jurong East's oldest Mall, the one nearest to the library and pop up to level 2. Otherwise look for a west side resident like me to bring you around. #sgwestrocks
