This is a very traditional kueh store that sells many peranakan style desserts like kueh lapis, chocolate walnut cake etc.

Just a very simple store but you can see many familiar names, the names that reminds you of the older days.

i think the boss was there and he was wearing a batik shirt with the rest of the workers wearing apron.

he was very confident of his own products while trying to show me the list of six stars hotels the brand is catering to.

tried their kueh lapis, id say its quite nice, but slightly expensive, about the same price as bengawan solo.

but on funny scene was that the worker who was serving me was a china lady. and when i name her all the cakes n kuehs i wanted in their names, she dont seem to know what am i talking about and i had to resort to lots of body languages instead. i just think shes gonna have quite a hard time working there haha

Went for Kim Gary at JB and it was my first time yesterday having it in Singapore.

There were some really friendly and polite servers but also some rather rude ones.

For example, after we finished our food, and we still had friends coming, we told one of the server who was beside us but shows no intention to clear the table, to clear the table for us. and guess what he did, he just took away one small bowl with 3 other hot plates and bread baskets on the table.

the portion is very good but its definitely more expensive than JB. secondly, i was rather disappointed as the one i went in malaysia, the food was good. but for the one at tampines 1, its a mutual agreement that it was a disappointment. for example, its cream sauce is basically taste like campbell soup. and their tomato meat sauce, is exactly the same as ketchup with some cubes of tomato. totally different from what I expected nor does it look like how it looks in the menu

im not too sure if this review will cause any issues as it is pretty sensitive. but i think i ought to let the people out there be aware of this inccident just in case they encounter what i encountered.

i came across this brand when it set up its push cart in parkway parade. its owned by a lady who read up alot on sea salts and decided to make it a business. i was quite interested in this salt detoxifying thing she was explaining to me saying itll improve the health of my skin but it'll require me to buy a few kg of salt. buying a few kg of salt sounded abit stupid to me so i gave up the idea.

when i finally change my mind n decided to give it a try, i couldnt find the brand anymore. it was then i realised my friend's friend is carrying the lady's brand. so i approached the middleman and bought quite a big amount of salt coz its cheaper.

happily i went home and carried out what was instructed. i was very excited i detox myself once every 2 days and every bath will used up about 1-1.5kg of salt. i started noticing some rashes on me and thought it was the toxin. without thinking much about it i continue with my detox plan more diligently as what i heard from the lady it'll cure rashes too.

my rashes got real bad, and even extended to my face and i did not dare to let anyone see my face i locked myself up in my room for a week.

on the scheduled day for detox, i was just repeating the same actions, scooping up with salt and weighing them. to my surprise, after i used 2/3 of the salt, i saw a dead lizard in the salt. black n dried. i was horrified! i immediately threw the bucket of salt away and called the 'middleman'. i demanded for a compensation after clarifying with the doctor that my rashes could be due to the contamination of salt from the lizard. i was so frustrated i spent so much time searching and paying so much money and not only did i not detox myself but got my whole body and face with terrible rashes. some of them even had pus in it.

the 'middleman' seemed lost as i told her i threw away the bucket which everyone will when they see such a thing. and i am very sure it didnt come from my house as i have pest control coming to my house every week as i have a small garden staying in a landed property and we are very particular about hygiene. my family will never tolerate even a house fly in the house. the middleman told me she has to speak to the supplier, who was the lady i met at parkway and she said that the lady was very sure there were no lizard and ask me for proof. all i had left was the first few scoops of salts i got out while preparing for the bath. i offered to give them the salt for test of contamination but refused to pay any further for any test, im sure the lizard caused my rashes.

i sensed that the middleman was very lost and she seemed sincere and apologetic. so i settled the case with her promising not to take any legal action against the brand and hand over the salt to her with a compensation of $400.

i am not mad at the middleman. i sensed her sincerity in solving the problem. and that she is only the middle man who got the sealed salt from the supplier and passed it to me, with salt still sealed.

but i am mad with the supplier. because i did have some talks with the middleman after the inccident and that the middleman told me she just started the business and she was discouraged that this thing took place. and that the supplier refused to entertain the middleman's self proclaimed politely suggesting to her that the lizard may have slipped in while she was packing many other stuff. i do not rule out this possibility, people do mistakes. and ill forget abt the whole thing if the supplier even bother to apologise to me. not only she did not, from what the middleman told me, the supplier did not even care about whether the case is real. the message i got seems like the supplier did not care about the aftersale service as long as the goods left her and she received the money. she has totally no interest to find out anything about it. she just kept saying her own supplier back in israel is sooooo reputable and she can show us the cert. but does the cert certifies that their distributors will not make mistakes and let other things fell into the product? i think she is just avoiding the question. i think such trade man are pretty nasty and really terrible. the salt is supposedly good in preventing rashes but on the contradictory, it caused me 'poisonous rashes'.

i symphathize with the middleman though. she is just a young girl who just stepped into the society afterall. and yes she compensated me with her limited capital while the supplier may be happily counting her money and laughing at idiots like me who believed her.

i hope my case will be an isolated one and no one will have this misfortune like mine. another lesson learned, just take a photo no matter how gross the object is as a proof. i think i did them a favour by helping her throw away the bucket. if not, she could be out of business now if i persue the case which i intended to. i take this case solved for the sake of the middleman. but if any of my friend or family ever have such problem with the supplier again, i will not hesitate to tell my experience to the law.

To prove that Im not lying, I have uploaded the photos of my rashes, sorry they seem blur coz i took it with my handphone. but if you can see, all the white dots had pus inside. Photo of the bucket when I first received it. and photo of my last sample to salt which can be tested (but now in their hands)

if people think the close up rashes are too close to determine its on my limbs, i have other photos, if you wanna see haha
