in the store, i was browsing and asked for a price of a tank top from a lady. she told me one for $13, two for $20. i took one.
with some balance, i took a shorts which also states 2 for $20, assuming 1 piece is also around $13. i exchanged them with my original items at the cashier, paid the balance and left.
it was about 5 minutes later i looked at the receipt, and it says 1 pair of shorts for $19.90. and i remembered two for $20. thinking that its so foolish of me that i could have just paid 10cents more and get another pair of shorts, i went back to the store and asked if i can get an additional pair of shorts.
i was then told that they only allow one exchange.
alright, i admit it was my fault i did not check properly initially and i cant blame them. but id really appreciate it if the cashier who attended to my exchange told me i could just top up 10cents for another pair of shorts.
lesson learnt, please check properly next time.

most of my furniture comes from ikea. from the real ones to small items like table lamps etc n some of their products are real cheap especially during sale. but neither can i deny that their quality especially for bigger furniture are just not comparable to those from normal furniture shops. it may just last you half the time of usual furniture before they wear and tear. can you imagine a kid jumped once on my bed and i had to change the wooden plank beneath it?
however, id say the quality of the smaller products are not too bad and furthermore, they are cheap! (not all, but there are still bargains to grab)
one of the reason they gave us for the self service system is to provide us with cheaper pricings. but sometimes it gets so frustrating when you cant find the items yourself or when you just to make simple enquiry and no one is around. i know there are many complains about its services but i guess its just one of the thing we have to bear with for such low pricings.
another bad point id say is the lack of uniqueness. have you seen many of your items appearing on the setting of many TV programmes?
but nevertheless, i think in all ikea did quite a good job in their overall system. it allows people to show their creativity with their products and provide lots of services from tailoring to full refund within 7 days.
with regards to its yet to be improved services, i guess theres just no perfect deals and we just have to find out the good points and be appreciative of it :)

the owner is very friendly, prompt in replying to emails and patient to my never ending questions.
her items are unique and quite creative. you can even custom make accessories with your own design and jeanine can make it out for you accordingly. i have some custom made myself at reasonable prices.
when items are delivered to you, they are packaged with sweet little notes and very customized id say.
to be frank, i think some of the materials used can be improved and certains items i think are abit overpriced. but i think it all depends on whats the expectation of the person while looking at the pictures of her items.
nevertheless, i do admire jeanine for her creativity and sometimes its good to just let her design an item for you when you give her a specific theme. becoz it seems like some of my ideas didnt work out well, but hey im not a designer you know haha

even though i did not encounter any long queues like my friends have warned me, it took quite a while for the food to arrive. if my memory didnt fail me, a normal botak burger with just one beef patty starts from about $6 or $7.
additional toppings like extra cheese, bacon, mushrooms etc will be additional of $1 to $3. for my dinner of a normal burger with greedy toppings added, it easily cost up to $12 or $13.
id say their burger is quite satisfying given that the portion is quite big and pretty tasty. the beef was just presented in the way i imagined it to be, tender and juicy. id easily choose this over carls junior. but you know, having spent $12 on a dinner in a kopi tiam just makes me feel 'overspent'. n i think with the same price i could have gotten the same thing in a decent restaurant.
im still a supporter of botak jones but it seems to me like its only me who fancy their burgers but the people im with will always order fish n chips.
their fries are okay, slightly overrated and its no longer free top up (okay, i know thats like decades ago) but i personally like the cheese potato, and i think its a better choice as a side dish when compared to their fries.
in all, i like it! in fact, i am still craving for it now as im writing this. but its not worth me purposely making a trip down to any branches just to have it. its more of a 'oh i passed by, why not?'

Indeed pretty hard to find the location for my first trip and i think its a bit of a hassle to travel all the way there just for ice creams. But it was being highly recommended by some of my friends and they insisted on dropping by udders, so i thought id just give it a try.
With a relatively small store area, the shop was quite packed when i visited it and it definitely seemed to gain the liking of many customers. However, with the large group of people i was with, its quite hard to fit us in.
The wide variety of interesting flavours offered, id recommend it for ice cream lovers who would like to try out new stuff.
However for me personally, id think the effort made to try out their ice cream made me contented with the other brands like ben & jerrys etc which are more available everywhere.
