Imagine dining more than 100m above Orchard Road and going round and round. We thought that we would suffer from indigestion after this merry go round but that did not happen. The revolving concept was pleasant and not dizzifying.

Service is excellent here with the staffs very accomodating to our requests. We came up at about 6:30 when the sun was still shining and stayed till after 9pm, when the city lights provided a nice backdrop to our dining experience.

Reservations were made 1 week in advance and meals were also ordered then. So when we were shown to our tables, there was nothing else for us to do but to enjoy the ambience and scenery.

We order 2 main courses and dessert and the ambience coupled with the warm atmosphere just makes the meal taste better. I must say that the staffs here went to great lengths to make sure that we had an excellent experience. The details that they paid attention to was something that we did not expect. Surely a place to plan your next special event. This meal costs us $120 but it was well worth it. And did I forget to say that there were also singers going round to the tables to sing a song for you. Be kind and choose a song that does not require much vocal exercise.

Main course is about $40-$70 per person. Food is fabulous but you must order the right selection. Keeping in mind that this is French, so expect French serving portions :)

Service is excellent here. The staffs are attentive and take their time to explain the various selections they have here. Most guests were seen to spend a little longer time with the drinks menu. Why? Because there is available over 280 wines and more than 200 cocktails and mocktails to choose from and you cannot order everything in one night! So take your time, they won't mind it. We tried the te vodka-based Zack's Killer ($14) and the Daiquiri Ice ($14).

The food selection is also interesting. Mostly finger food and heavy finger food. We tried the Rochester's Famous Sinful Pork Crackles ($15) which truly lives up to the 'sinful' part of its name. Imagine eating layers and layers of roasted pork coupled with their special sweet sauce. It is not something that you would proudly tell your doctor if you do have to go for a regular cholesterol test!!!

If you want a proper dinner, you have to make your bookings in advance and let them know so they can prepare a special set dinner for you! And it really is special!

The funny thing about this place is that although we were dining outdoors, there seems to be no sign of mosquitos. Apparently they have installed some state of the art equipment that repels the mosquitos. Either this or the mosquitos have tasted too much tequilas and are sound asleep...:)

Definitely a place to relax after a hectic day at work. The nice tropical surroundings make this place a must visit for the "adventure" seeker. If you drive, you might want to go early as there is limited car park space here.

    33. The Prata Place

Ever tried to drive 1/2 an hour just for a prata. If you have eaten prata at the Prata Place, most likely you will know what I am talking about. Unless you are staying in Springleaf avenue, you will most likely take 1/2 an hour either from the Eastern or Western part of Singapore to get to the Prata Place.

The prata is simply delicious; thin and crispy and at the right size. Tried the mutton Murtabak, garlic prata (nice) and the bomb prata. Opps... did I say bomb. Hope it is not a restricted word. Anyway, the bomb (again) prata is a mixture of sugar and milk, giving it quite a unique taste. Not for the faint hearted.

The murtabak must be one of the crispyfying ones I have ever tried. Most murtabaks are soft and soggy. This one is flat and well filled with mutton. I ordered the small ($4) which is good for 2 persons. The have medium, large and extra large murtabak ($10) good for a family to soak themselves in murtabak. Might need 2 persons to carry the XL ones.

One more thing, the person taking the order is one of the friendliest I have seen. Normally when people are busy, their muscles seem to forget how to smile. This waiter is different. He smiles like no tomorrow and even has time to play with kids and babies, much to the amusement of the parents. Anyway, his friendly disposition makes it easy to place re-orders or to ask for more curry.

This is the best fried chicken in the universe...really out of this world!!! Situated in a little corner at City Plaza, little would any one know that this place exist. City plaza is known for clothes and ladies apparels, not fried chicken. But after getting a taste of Arnold's fried chicken, you will not want to eat fried chicken from any other fast food outlets any more.

Simply put, the chicken is cooked only when you place the order. It is fresh, not frozen or pre-heated. So expect to wait a little longer when you place your order. But when it arrives, you will have the time of your life with the juicy and tender meat and the crispy "real" chicken skin. Not like the other chicken skin that makes you feel like you are eating fried flour.

The 1/2 spring chicken is $4.90

This is enough for one person. The fried buns are also freshly fried so they are piping hot when they reach the table.

Seating and service is average. But the fried chicken makes up for it all. Do come early about 6:30pm. Arrive after 7pm and you will have to queue. Yes, you will be given a queue number and will have to wait. But you can place your order first so that once you get your table, food is served soon after.

They also have fish and chips but the place is not called Arnold's fried chicken for nothing. Stick with the Fried chicken....simply the best. Is there an option to put 10 stars?

Popeye was great some time back (until...). Recent visits have been disappointing. Pieces seems to have shrunk in size and the biscuits too have lost their original taste. Hope they will improve.

The perfect place to chill out without the crowd up on the "highest" peak in Singapore....actually not so high. But the couch view by the window is good. The floor to ceiling glass window allows you to get a good view of the cable car paths as well as Sentosa and the Singapore Harbour. So just sit back, relax and enjoy the views.

Serve standard drinks and cocktails. One plus point is that this place is frequented by both local and foreign celebrities, so you might just catch a glimpse of them or hear the staffs talking about it...that's if you are in to celebrities. Otherwise the glass atmosphere and cozy surroundings might just be what you can enjoy here.

You might like to make a reservation if you are going in larger groups. Have seen many larger groups of about 5-6 people coming in and going out because of not being able to find a place here.

Parking in Mount Faber can be a problem if you come later in the night. But then you can always use the valet service at $5 if you like. Saves you all the walking and trouble.
