have always been a fan of gelato, and haato has gotta be one of my few favourites in singapore. really natural and fresh tasting, my best pick is the soursop flavour. rarely found elsewhere (nth decent at least), this one is a real gem. it's a pity it's not a regular flavour though. they kinda stopped selling it after a while that i got hooked. then it came back again, but im not sure if it's for good. shall check it out again soon, and u should too!
Ahh i love astons! I think this is by far the most worth it western food i've had in singapore. i mean, this is eating restaurant-standard food at a coffee-shop price, wad more can i ask for rite?
I've tried a couple of their dishes so far, and all of them have never disappointed. I like how their meats turn out charred enough for that extra flavour, but still remain juicy inside. I'm gna plan a trip back soon, and I high recommend that you try this out too!
I have to agree this nasi lemak is overrated. true, i think it will have its own fair share of supporters with their chicken wings, but i think with the amount that you're paying for that plate of nasi lemak, you can well get more value-for-money substitutes elsewhere.
I heard there's even midnight surcharge for this nasi lemak? don't quote me on this, but i really think their prices are wayyy tooo much.
I kinda like the meat ball soup stall opposite them though, haha!
Don chicken pies are quite tasty, with the portions big enough for a meal, and the fillings generously served. Personally I feel it can be a tad boring to eat such a huge pie for a meal though, so it might be a good idea to share with friends for tea or sth. Also, having tried their pies several times, I have come to realise they can be slightly inconsistent with their flavouring. My recent tries proved that they seemed to have added too much salt and I have yet to return again since.
As it's name suggest this place sells cakes and puffs. Have tried a couple of flavours of their cakes before and all have been rather tasty. The texture is smooth, and the chocolate rich.
This outlet at ICON village has also recently introduced some new dishes. At an introductory price of $2 for their Mee Siam, and $3 for their Beef Bolognaise Spaghetti (add $0.20 for takeaway), I must say it's really quite a steal. My mom tried the mee siam while I tried the latter. We were both satisfied with what we've got. With their decent portion and generous serving of gravy, I think it should be one of those to keep in mind when you want a quick but filling lunch/dinner.
