Not a fan of this cinema outlet at all!

Dislike the irritating protruding headrests that stiffen my neck. Not to mention it is always SO crowded on weekends. Some of my friends love the extra leg-room though, so I think it's really quite personal.

I would trade some leg-room for better neck comfort anytime, so you can be sure I wouldn't be one of those vying for tickets with you for that weekend evening show at GV Vivo!

      62. Night Safari
         06 Jul 2008 at 2:47 am
The tram ride was prolly the only highlight of my trip to the Night Safari recently.

It was an approx 40min affair, which took us on a guided tour to the different parts of the safari. Our guide was a lady with really nice voice, and she provided interesting insights on the animals that we went past.

It's matter of luck at the Night Safari though, cos some nights the animals might just decide to hide away from view and you wouldn't be able to find them in the dark. I was pretty lucky on my visit, as I managed to see most of the animals without having to go through too many of those "empty enclosures" moments.

I like the really open concept there, (at some point in time some animals were SO close to us we cld just reach outta the tram and touch them! of cos we didnt, cos' we're obeying visitors :), but the animal show was a tad disappointing for me.

My advice: end your trip with the tram ride, at least it makes you leave with a more satisfied feeling.

        63. Le Petit Provence

The smaller branch of the much raved about (by me, at least =P) Provence @ Holland V, it is really petite in size.

Without the huge variety offered at Holland V, this outlet allows you to tell at one glance what their popular items are. I thought they must be really hot-selling, to be able to survive on selling so little variety! Anyways, my good ol' favourites available at the larger outlet can also be found here, and I've also found their cakes here, which I didn't see the last I checked out hol v. Their tea cakes (comes in the chocolate flavour too) are pretty yummy (to my taste buds).

Not the cheapest bread (and cakes) you'll find around, but I think their taste do justify the few extra cents when you feel like eating more atas bread every now and then. :)

I simply LOVE the bread at Provence! Never once a huge fan of bread, I fell for them when I tasted how Provence can make such a simple fare taste so simple (duh -.-), yet so yummy!

Nothing fanciful, most of the Provence breads are of the typical "natural" flavours, such as chocolate, butter, jams etc, without the flowery toppings that a lot of other bakeries now like to use. I also felt that by displaying the extra information of whether each product contains egg etc, it shows how thoughtful they are towards their vegetarian and diet-conscious customers.

Certainly a bakery I will never just visit once and not go back again! (It'd be my loss if I do!!)

            65. Timbre
               06 Jul 2008 at 2:24 am
Timbre sells really delicious thin-crust pizza that makes me salivate at the mere thought of it! Coupled with beer and great music from local bands, it is the perfect hang-out on a relaxed friday day with your friends.

The place can get pretty crowded on weekends though, and since most are there to chill and enjoy the music, you really shouldn't be banking on waiting for the customers to leave so you can get a place. Try to reach there early, or an alternative is to visit their other branch at The Arts House, by the Singapore River.

I like the idea of supporting local bands too, so if you're like-minded or if you simply enjoy good music, Timbre can be the next place to visit for that next weekend chill-out of yours!
