Ate at this particular soup restaurant for dinner on a weekday.
There is a queue even on a weekday. However, it was quite fast and we only stand there for around 10 mins.
Service was alright. Some waitresses were quite friendly. There is also set menus which I ate. A dinner set for 2 is around 43 . You can also change the dish in the set to another similar or lesser priced item in the same food category (can also top up for more expensive 1).
Food wise, I would recommend their samsui chicken. It is quite good, especially when eaten with the crushed ginger. Veg wise, not particularly amazing. Soup wise, it is quite good. Should try the more traditional soup. The fish slices are not as amazing. Though fresh, there aren't much taste to it. The sauces mask its taste too much.
Ate at this restaurant this afternoon. Considering today is new year eve, the buffer per pax is quite cheap! Lunch is $15.90 regardless of weekday, weekend or public holidays. Dinner is $17.90 The hotpot is 2 compartment type and you can choose from 3 type of soup base - sukiyaki, shabu shabu and kimchi. Personally, I think that the sukiyaki is the best. Shabu shabu is a bit plain. Haven tried kimchi yet.
In terms of meat, there are 3 types - pork, chicken and beef. You will need to order from the waiter and waitresses and they will deliver to you in square trays. Each tray contain around 8 - 10 slices of meat. Personally, I ate 11 trays with my girlfriend. The meat is quite alright, especially the pork. What type of beef, I'm not really sure. Not an expert in this field.
Other than the meat, there is a middle section where you can take the other ingredients - veg, tofu, udon, eggs, etc. Nothing special there, just like all other buffets. The condiments section is worth a visit. Goes well with the meat.
Service wise was quite prompt. Nothing special as it is a buffet. Thing to note is that you can only stay for 80 mins for lunch, 100 mins for dinner (if i not wrong). Got 'reminded' nicely when my 80 min is up. LOL.
Ambience wise, was alright since it is at marina square. Not much oil, smoke and heat.
In conclusion, a nice cheap place to 'down' lots of meat for japanese hotpot.
Took the flyer sometime ago. For $29.50 per person, I would think it is a bit overpriced. Luckily, then i went on some student promotion which is a steal. Thus, you can keep a lookout for student promos on the website.
I went on a weekday and there was no queue at all. All were quite speedy and the service was alright. Remember to take the audio device before boarding. It was quite informative. At the same time, the pamphlet given was quite well designed. It is circular and is like a compass, showing you the different landmarks as you take the ride.
The ride was quite nice. Allowing you quite unique views of Singapore. Then, the IR was not totally up yet, so not much to comment on it. If i remember correctly, on the way down, there is still a miniature display of the IR. Keep a look out for it.
Food wise, there are quite a variety at the Flyer. Popeye's seems the most affordable to me.
This branch is famous for half priced waffle on Tuesday~ Should you come on Tuesday, especially in the evening, prepared to wait for quite some time. Would recommend to come in the afternoon or so. Note, only the waffle is half priced, not inclusive of the toppings and all
Food wise, the waffle is as per those big fluffy waffle and they tasted quite ok. Would recommend those with ice cream as toppings. The icecream tasted very different from normal icecream due to a strong milky taste which is quite pleasant.
Service wise, you will need to order your food at the counter yourself though they will deliver it to your table.
Price wise, it is not particularly cheap for a waffle with topping and could cost close to $8 - $10 for 1.
I always pop by this outlet when i'm in Hougang mall. Bought a camera from there recently during a sale.
During sales, the goods here are really cheap. The price of the camera I bought here is akin to that at SLS which is quite competitive. Other than that, I like the option of purchasing extra warranty from HN (Before this camera, I have 2 spoilt ones).
Service wise, the sales assistants are quite friendly and not very pushy. I bought during the sale and some of the assistants seemed to be only around during the sale though they have sufficient product knowledge.
Computer and cameras wise, there are quite a lot. The other home electrical goods don’t seem to be as much. This outlet is not those super big 1.
