We chanced upon this quaint little alcove tucked on the fourth floor of Iluma. Seemed to be a dessert shop, but there were some good entrees on promotion, so we stepped in for a better look.
We had the mushroom pasta and spicy tuna crepe (both $9.25 ) which came with an appetizer of salad, garlic bread or soup.
The mushroom soup was yummy and thick, with a nice aroma of fresh mushrooms, but unfortunately it was not hot. The garlic bread was nicely toasted with melted cheese on top, which was yummy!
The mushroom pasta was done al dente and springy to the bite, with creamy white sauce and just a hint of black pepper. The spicy tuna crepe was an unusual dish. At first glance, a plain rectangular crepe, but when you cut into it, a aromatic spicy tuna filling is revealed, with a hint of cheese. A small salad balances off the crepe meal.
For an additional $0.90 , you can have a beverage or soft drink with your meal.
For sweets, we could not resist the tiramisu which was creamy and yet light, but sadly lacking in the liquor (heh heh). Still, it was a good portion for $6.07
The staff are warm and friendly and the manager was a very helpful guy who helped with our selections. Definitely must come back to try the other desserts!

Booked this hotel as part of a package and must admit I did not do a whole lot of research. Turned out to be quite a dingy little hotel in a quiet neighbourhood.
Plus points: There is a 7-11 opposite if you are hungry or thirsty. Convenient location: KTM Komuter (10 mins), LTR (5 mins) Monorail (8 mins). The Mall is located 8 mins walk away.
Minus points: While room is large, it's not very well maintained and carpet seems dirty. Bar fridge was rusty, bathroom small and not very clean. Not much of a hotel facade or lobby, so please meet your business contacts elsewhere .
Surprising for me to say this, but it was value for money, cos I only paid about SGD50 per night, with breakfast. So not that many complaints!
Thick Toast with Bananas & Strawberries, and Thick Toast with Peaches & Bananas
Both are unique products, featuring toasted thick toast, cut into bite-size pieces, and sprinkled with banana slices and strawberry slices or peach slices, then drizzled with syrup. The crunchy toast gives a good contrasting texture with the fruit pieces and even the choice of fruits - bananas (soft texture) against peaches and strawberries (firmer texture) - is a good blend. Depending on the outlet and fruit season, you may also have a little sour strawberries which is another good contrast with the banana slices.
Ala carte price for each dish is $2.50, or you can order a set which comes with an iced beverage (eg Iced Lemon Tea, Iced Milo) for $3.50.
We have heard so much about this hotel, so we decided to give it a try ourselves. We booked a Deluxe sea-facing room which was very spacious and well-appointed. The room was very clean and the amenities very new. Best of all was the balcony alcove which gave wonderful sunrise views over the sea.
There are two pools, one on the first floor opposite the cafe, and one on the rooftop. The rooftop pool is the better one, with an infinity edge, so you feel like the pool flows over the side of the hotel. There is a large ledge on the side, which allows sunbathers a vantage point to tan, and a jacuzzi for those who just want to relax. Whether you are tanning, swimming or sitting in the jacuzzi, there is a thrill each time an aircraft landing at Changi Airport roars past the pool at close range.
There is a Salt Water Cafe which serves a buffet (from $36-40pp) and an adjoining Vau Lounge which serves drinks. The Japanese restaurant was always vacant when we walked past. There are lots of dining options at Changi Village anyway, which is a five minute walk away.
