Passed by this place one day sometime back while doing some shopping at Suntec City. As it was near meal time and seeing that there wasn't a queue, my gf and I decided to give it a try.
The restaurant itself was quite spacious and the seats were quite comfy. We were given seats near the entrance and we then proceeded to take a look at the menu.
As the name implies, their main specialities are the seafood and steak. Here, diners can enjoy the best of both worlds with their fantastic Surf & Turf Combos- featuring nine scrumptious combinations of steaks, chicken, salmon, prawns, and crayfish. We were quite impressed by the number of combinations made available to the patrons indeed.
Premium tenderloin steaks are prepared in a choice of 3 different styles – the classic New York, Fillet Mignon wrapped with bacon or Carpetbagger stuffed with oysters. All are served with grilled corn, steamed vegetables and your choice of baked potato or fries. The sirloin steaks are equally impressive, have it in “Bordeaux” red wine style or “Bourbon” marinated.
As for the seafood , there is the garlic or grilled Jumbo Prawns, which you can try. As for the soups, besides traditional Clam Chowder, another house specialty is the Oyster Chowder – a delicious, creamy broth cooked with fresh oysters. Other highly recommended starters include Prawn Quesadillas and the original Surf ‘n’ Turf Salad.
As my gf and I are not really fans of prawns or oysters, we didn't order the Jumbo prawns or oyster chowder. So we decided to order a classic New York tenderloin steak, as well as the Clam Chowder and a half seafood platter for starters.
I must say that the steak was quite succulent and very tender. The chowder soup was nice and thick and not diluted like some places, whereby they used Campbell's soup and the clams were quite chewy too. As for the seafood platter, the quanity was just nice for two ppl and the variety was quite good too (Sorry I can't rememebr thou what the exact spread was).
However, one thing that was slightly disappointing was the service there. You had to call a couple of times before the waiter would come over to check out ur requests.
As for the pricing, I guess it was reasonable enough. So do give it a try if you happen to be in Suntec and can't decide what to eat.

We ordered a number of dishes including the famous Samsui Ginger Chicken where the chicken comes fully deboned, placed around a huge round platter with a bowl of the ginger dip in the middle. A stack of nicely trimmed lettuce leaves accompanies it. You simply pick, dip, wrap and eat. The taste is simply awesome I must say. You must really try this dish if you are dining at Soup Restaurant.
We also ordered the Ribs in a Beggar's Bowl, which was a bit too sweet for us, though the meat itself was juicy and nice.
On top of that we ordered a soup of the day, which was 老黄瓜炖排骨。 The soup was served piping hot and extremely delicious, makes me wonder if it had been boiled for hours ( or just MSG at work??). But in any case, the soup was definitely shiok and the quantity was more than enough to let every one have at least 3 servings, which made it quite worthwhile. Lastly, we had sambal potato leaves that went down very well with just white rice.
And the service of the staff were pretty good too, being there promptly when you needed them, thou partly it was also near to cloing time and there weren't many customers already. LOL.
All in all, I would say that the food there was nice and the prices being reasonable. For a couple, I guess if you had ordered a couple of dishes and a soup, it would likely set you back by approximately $40 bucks or so, depending on ur orders. Would definitely go back and try the other specialities like the Black Olive Rice & Braised Doufu.

Had noticed that they had now combined the once famous roti prata seats with that of the steamboat buffet. So I guess the roti prata outlet is now defunct. Likely due to the new Food Republic opening just at the other end of the same location at the Convention Centre.
Over there, each person has their own mini steamboat instead of the conventional one big pot of soup for everyone. They have 3 soup bases, namely tom yam, spicy herbs and chicken with herbs to choose from. And normally, I go for the tom yam and chicken with herbs.
Anyway, I think that the food variety there is just so so. Nthg very fantastic, except that perhaps they offer chicken rice, rojak and some fried vegetables and deserts and ice-cream, which you may not get at those normal 重庆火锅 stalls. Other than that, everything else would be the same and also this place does not come with unlimited free drinks. They only offer plain iced water. So you have to pay for the can drinks and such, which will add on to your bill.
I had tried once their taiwanese porridge buffet and the varityof food was quite similar to that of the steamboat buffet,except that all the food were already cooked.haha..
Overall, I would say that the food is okie but the pricing is a bit high thou. The pricing for the steamboat is set at $25.80 for adults. Cant really remember the prices for kids as I nvr had brot kids there to eat.haha. You can also call up to chk out the prices.

4. Choose if you wanna to toast ur bread. (Toast it! Melted chesse taste nicer. Hee....)
5. Choose what veges you wanna. They are very generous with their vege. So much so that in the end, you will not see the meat but only vege in the sandwich. I like! Hee....
6. Dressing. Again a few dressing to choose from. Even they match certain dressing to certain sandwich. My fav is always Sweet onion sauce for all sandwiches.
7. Choose if you wanna to upgrade a meal, means to complete your subway sandwich with a drink and either cookies / chips. Go for the cookies. My fav will be white chocolate mac nut cookie!
8. Lastly, enjoy ur sandwich!
For service wise most of the sandwich artists (Yes they are called sandwich artist! Nice right!) are very friendly also. They are also fast with their hands as well

I love to glue my eyes on beautiful gowns from the bridal studio's window displays, letting my mind wonder how nice if I would be to be the mannequin. However, I guess the guy would feel a pinch of stress, how much does the package cost? That will be the first question that came to their mind.
I was shopping along Bugis when we saw a bridal roadshow event. A stupid move to walk-in out of curiousity, cause us to walk-out with $1,500 poorer.
With no homework done on any Bridal Studio, we signed up with Feline Bridal, as we were attracted to their pretty gowns, photography skill and reasonable price package, and the salesperson made us feel so comfortable chatting with them. They seem to have promise us the sky.
However, things did not turn out as promised for our throw-in ROM package. Then when I was at the verge of forfieting my deposit, I decided to gave Feline Bridal another one last chance. So we went ahead with my MTM gown and photoshoot discussion. To our surprise, their service had much improved. I hope it will continue to provide better services and meet up to client's expectation.
Over the past few mths, I have been surfing online for beautiful ideals for my photoshoot and looking around for photographer for my wedding day.
I found lovely pictures that I loved very much by Kelvin Koh.
I think he is superb! He is fantastic! He is such a amazing photographer who captures not only memories and emotions, he brings pictures to life.
Of cos it does comes with a price. Wedding day package from $2800 onwards. It's towards the pricy side.
A normal photographer recommended by Bridal Shop is around at $600 to $900.
I think I am dead. After looking at his pics, I have set a kind of dream standard for my photoshoot and wedding day pictures. No No No WAY! I have to lower down my expectation if not I am afraid my disappointment will get greater.
Well, nonetheless I still love to admire those beautiful pictures!
I'm pretty sure everyone knows Killiney Kopitiam. They have a few outlets around Singapore and most people would have been to one or the other.
Anyway this particular one in Siglap is always busy. They are never empty and I wonder why.
Coffee at Killiney's ain't different from the 70 cents one you find at your regular coffeeshop. not to mention it's more expensive here. In fact, it's more diluted if they're really busy. It's a little wierd since they supposedly make each cup as they are ordered.
They also have local foodfare like Mee siam and Nasi Lemak. Taste-wise is pretty average. Nothing special, thus it doesn't quite justify that $1 or $2 more....
I like the toast though, but again it's nothing extraordinary.
Nonetheless this small outlet is always bustling. Only try if you really have no other place to go for breakfast.

The 1st dish was promptly served within 10-15 minutes and the delivery of the remaining dishes also were quite swift. I was quite amazed as given the crowd there then, I would have expected the service to be a bit slow.
Coming to the food, the taste was quite good. The prawns were fresh and the cereal was nice as well. The claypot tofu was smooth and the gravy thick and yummy. The deep fried Soon Hock was fresh and nt very oily. As for the duck, it was presented in two styles : Bejing Style,which was wrapping the crispy skin with the egg wrap and slices of the meat stir fried.
Though Jumbo is famous for its crabs, I did not order that as my family members ain't really fans of crabs. But still, i must say that the food was really good though the price may be slightly high. ( the bill was slightly over $200)
So if you do not mind the price and like to try this restaurant out, I would recommend you go on a weekday or make a reservation prior to going on a weekend.
Had always liked to eat at this samll eatery near Bugis Junction. For me, I would always choose the set C of the nasi lemak meal, which comes with rice, one chicjen wing, otah and egg (either omlette or those fried eggs). ANd normally without fail, I would always order an extra chicken wing to go along cos the chicken wings are really so nice!!! SEDAP!!!!
Especially if they are freshly fried, the taste is just so shiok!!! And the best thing is that the wings ain't that oily, which is good.
In addition, sometimes I would like to order one serving of the popiah. I like eating theirs cos' the skin will not break when you use your chopsticks to pick it up, and that will kee the ingredients in place. I have eaten popiah from pther places, whereby the skin breaks easily and ingredients just fall out.
Once in a while, I would also takeaway the popiah for my parents when I happened to pop by. So do go eat their popiah an dorder that extra chicken wing!!! You will not regret!!!

The decor of the restaurant was quite unique and abit on the 复古 style. The buffet spread consisted of 52 items including Mini Buddha Jump Over The Wall aka 迷你佛跳墙(Limited to one serving per person), which was indeed nice and very tasty.
There was also the Live Prawns (Limited to 100g per person) (which was quite little in my opinion) with a choice of being cooked in 3 different ways, namely poached, deep fry with almond flakes and fry with marmite sauce. We opted for the first two styles and the dishes were quite nice.
Also available was Salmon Sashimi, Grilled Teriyaki Salmon Fish Head, Beijing Roasted Duck, Sliced Pork Trotter with Jelly Fish, Crispy Soft Shell Crab with Salted Pepper, Sautéed Scallops with Celery in X.O Sauce and many many more..
As for desserts, there were the usual Chilled Sago Cream with Honey Dew,Herbal Jelly Served with Honey, Red Bean Pan Cake, Ice Cream Puff and a couple more.
Of course, we didn't order all 52 items. But those That I have mentioned above we have tried all of them and all were really tasty. The desserts were not too sweet which was good for people who cannot take sweet stuff.
