I take cabs fairly frequently, so I have my fair share of good and bad cabbies. The good ones are talkative, and helpful. Some go so far as to waive fares if you are critically ill and vulnerable. Bad ones take longer routes, drive slowly, are rude, and there was one who even threatened to throw me out during a peak hour, when I argued with him over wrong directions.
My main gripe about the taxis in S'pore (not just Comfort) is its rising fares and complex pricing structure: peak hours charges, midnight surcharges, fuel charges(recently scrapped), etc. A plus point is that all taxis here are safe to ride, unlike in some countries where passengers are abducted or robbed by drivers. There are also no bogus cabbies who charge inflated fares.

There are many different Taxis now in Singapore, but most of the time I see comfort taxi.
From my experience of taking comfort taxi most of the cabby are usually quiet they just ask you where you want to go and they will just drive you to your destination in silence.
But different cabbies have different personality there will always be friendly and rude cabby depends on your luck.
But you cant blame the cabby for being rude, I have a uncle who work as a Taxi Driver for comfort he work long hours and its natural for him to be tired leading him to a bad temper and being rude..
Now in some Comfort Taxi there is a small touch screen TV which allows passenger to see the tourists area in Singapore the good places to go to, and what movies is showing now in cinemas around Singapore.

Comfort taxis. Quite a service they have. I seldom take taxis, but most of the taxis i took is comfort cabs. it is not a surprise though, since comfort cabs are having most of the market share.
The service of comfort cabs are quite good, apart from some cabbies being rude to the passengers. There was once i took a comfort cab. The cabby is quite polite, and he talked to me about his life as a taxi driver while driving. Although it might be quite dangerous to multi task while on the road, having that 20 extra years of experience and driving at a smooth pace is not to be reckoned with.
All in all, comfort taxis are quite comfy after all. Just hope that u are lucky and not get a errant or rude one! black sheeps are all but few around, but they are still available out there.
