Ambience This little cosy cafe can be a little hard to find, which is probably why it's a well-kept secret. Aside from the usual fare of chicken rice and roast pork rice, they serve very tasty home-cooked meals at affordable prices. Because there are only a few tables, it is never really crowded and noisy, and has the feeling of a large family gathering at home.

Staff The service staff are warm and friendly and very helpful. Their intimate knowledge of the menu, coupled with their interest in catering to the tastes of their customers makes it a very warm experience indeed. When we enquired about the sotong dish, they were nice enough to point out that it might be a tad chewy for Dad and Mum (it actually wasn't).

Menu All the dishes are delish, not too sweet and not too oily. Very flavourful and tasty.

Assam Fish Head ($20) generous huge portion of fish in a tantalising tangy sauce with pineapple, ladies fingers and brinjal. Spicy but mmm so nice!

Claypot Wine Chicken ($12) despite its dark colour, the chicken was surprisingly tasty with a nice aroma

Special-made Beancurd with Lingzhi Mushroom ($10) home-made beancurd was so soft and silky. Good texture contrast to the lingzhi mushroom sauce.

Deepfried Cream Sotong ($10) deepfried pieces of sotong with a light hint (not over-powering) of cream (奶油). Wasn't as chewy as they warned and our parents enjoyed it. Still, could have cut into smaller pieces for easier handling.

Finish off with their specialty drinks: peach tea, barley or buckwheat tea. Perfect ending to a lovely meal.
