I went to Next for a haircut two weeks back. Students who flash their student card will get a 20% discount off the original price of the haircut. The prices range from 30 plus to 100 plus depending on the seniority of the hairstylist. I tried their senior stylist and her skills was not bad. She gave me a lot of useful tips and recommended a good hairstyle for me. On top of that, this salon has one of the longest hair wash/ massage that i've tried. They make you feel comfortable and even provide drinks like orange juice. Very good experience.
Was there for my haircut on Saturday and HFB is pretty impressed with the salon. Located above Body Shop, NEXT is ritzy and glamorously furnish in everything black, including the black leather sofa chair that they will ushered you to for your haircut. Unlike those stiff chairs that usual salon provides, HFB was able to sit comfortably while being attended to.
Soon enough it's time for one's hair wash before the cut and HFB think its the longest he ever had for a wash head massage (25mins to be exact). Although HFB have to admit it's not the best he had tried (KRplus offers better head message amidst a shorter one), it was still enjoyable nonetheless.
Jack, was my hair stylist that day (dolled in his professional yet trendy black outfit of course) - and I am surprised that he is pretty skillful for someone his age. I leave NEXT a happy man satisfied with both my $37.45 haircut and wash/massage. You can be rest assured that I will be making my appointment with them for my NEXT haircut (lame!).
The best hair wash that I have ever had. My friends affectionately labels the wash, orgasmic *squirts
And orgasmic it has always been.
There's this petite girl in particular, that gives hell of a wash. One look at her, you'll think that the wash she give will be more of a tickleintheoldbushofahair. However, it seems like she transforms into supergirl and gives a powerful yet soothing massage during the wash. They give a fairly long wash and massage, but it never feels enough.
After the massage you will be sitting in one of the most comfortable chairs for the cut. With the nu-lounge music they play, and gentle handling of the stylist, you can't help it but drift in and out of sleep.
The entire place feels very professional, makes you feel good going there for a cut. Not very expensive, considering you can pay 30 bucks for a cut in some normal hair salon, that gives an ordinary wash, blow and cut.
Next charges around 45 bucks for a cut from the senior stylist, worth every penny. You'll feel pampered and exclusive when you're there.
Located in where else but Holland Village, Next is a hair salon where you head to when you want pampering. It helps too if you have cash to spend. Located just above the Body Shop, it is swanky and posh to say the least. You can choose from quite a few people to tend to your tresses, the more experienced, the more cash you have to part with. However, even the cheapest come at a price of 30 odd dollars for a cut and wash, but to me, 30 odd dollars there is sufficient to get you a decent haircut already. Not bad at all.
You are immdiately ushered to a seat unlike that of typical salons--their seats are a rich bronze in colour with plenty of space and arm rests at the sides just like a one-sitter sofa. You get to pick a drink from a menu and they serve it in lavish glasses. There is even a huge couch behind for your friend who is waiting for you to get your hair done. It's so big your legs cant even reach the floor if you sit all the way in.
No one's in a rush in this salon. It is not your 10 minute cut and go. A wash and trim can take about one and a half hours, so do make time for it. The stylists are professional, often standing back to take a look at their "work of art", steadily constructing up the perfesct hairdo for you. & the hair wash was good. They massaged your scalp fairly long, making you so comfortable you could fall asleep. However, sometimes you get a little impatient as they can take too long to get just your fringe done. But hey, maybe all they want is the best for their customers...
