Photos of Shin Kushiya (Far East Square) - Restaurants

Set in the heart of the business district, Shin Kushiya caters to the working class as it opens another outlet.

I went on a Friday night for dinner at around 8 pm. Maybe it was a time for drinking and not a time for dinner, the place looks empty.

My 3 friends just had a main rice/noodle item each, while I had a side dish and 2 meat items (since I had some snacks earlier, I am not going for the carbos) and a drink. I was a bit of shocked when the total price came up to $93. But when I recall, the drink and the meat items are approx $10 each and the main rice/noodle (not very big serving) also come to approx $15-$18 each.

I do like the food, a smoked duck and a beef yakitori, but I guess this is not a place for a Friday night friends gathering, for this kind of price.

Shin Kushiya (Far East Square) - Restaurants

My colleague actually intoduced me to this place specialising in charcoal-grilled food. Interior decor of the restaurant was impeccable, with chrysanthemun wallpapers and wooden panels reflecting the modern & laid back concept of the place. Food we ordered tasted as good as it looked. Must-try are the food items on their Spring Menu, especially the beetroot salmon sashimi and spicy prawn spag. The sashimi was uniquely made and tasted very fresh. Though the place is noisy with other customerswhen crowded, the pleasant staff gave me a wonderful dining experience. Definitely worth it to visit Shin Kushiya again!
