We decided to get a bite after our movie ended around 10.30pm and saw that this place was not crowded at all. Suspecting that either the prices are sky high or limitation on the food items, we decided just to order a simple meal to fulfil our empty stomach.

Grilled Teriyaki Chicken ($15.90) - considered quite expensive as we were served a small piece of the chicken meat. But the chicken skin was well marinated with the teriyaki sauce and tasted tender.

The salad was fresh and crunchy. Next to it was a plate consisting of 2 pieces of odd-shaped sushi which we couldnt figure out what it was.

Maron Shiratama Kakigio ($7.80) - this dessert has mixture of green tea mochi, red beans and other items. We liked it that it was not sweet.

Overall, we like their concept of serving Japanese and Western dishes like pizza, pasta, burgers and waffles. Unfortunately, service was below average as we were taken aback when one of the staff suddenly served us the bill while we were still eating. The part that annoyed us was she didnt apologise or explain why we were given the bill. She just stared at us and expected us to pay.

Unlikely to come back again as staff are not properly trained to serve the public.

After movie, went to shokudo for dinner. This is the mini dessert they serve for ordering a value meal. Don't get cheated by the look as it actually tastes quite weird mad As I ordered the value meal, i find the price is just alright but definitely not for ala carte meal. I wasn't able to snap the main course because by the time the food were served. My friends and were too hungry and we were rushing to finish up the food to fill up our empty stomach. Overall, the food taste not bad smile will probably re visit the place but not for the dessert. :D

Definitely a place to avoid all the wrong reasons.

As a member of the working community around Orchard and having lesser choices for lunch due to the closure one after another foodcourts, it was time to give Shokudo at Cine a try....

My order was not routed to the kitchen the 1st time round and I had to wait for a coll 39 minutes for a simple order.

Typical japanese music to go with the japanese themed restaurant. However they were playing the same song by ELT, "Over and Over", over and over again. After I asked the staff to change the song, he went back to the counter to check out the technical error and came back only to tell me that the song will be changed. AFTER THE CURRENT SONG ENDS!

Ordered the Ebi Tomato (Original tomato sauce) and was treated to my life's worst every pasta consumed. Even canned tomato sauce tasted better than that. The Ebi Fry didn't do the dish any justice.

THE worst meal of my life. Definitely not going back and advising EVERYONE not to try...

Okay. If you think I'm biased about the service after what I've been through, consider Shokudo(Cine) as a overpriced menu for a sub-standard japanese-style pasta restaurant.
