I L-O-V-E waraku loads! Ambience, service and food.

On the latest visit with my mom and brother, we ordered:

    - Tonkatsu Set meal (comes with vegetable salad, potato salad, 1 huge piece of tonkatsu, bowl of rice and miso udon) - Curry Udon Set meal (comes with a bowl of beef curry udon, bowl of oyaku-don [egg and chicken rice bowl], and the same salads if i remember correctly) - Creamy Ikura Udon (my brother always orders their creamy udon) - Potato Cheese Mochi (we never leave the restaurant without eating this) - Tofu Salad (the salad dressing was very unique - tasted like tuna. oishi!)

I think that the set meal is too much for one person unless you're a very huge eater. I felt so full after my udon and potato salad, I had to stuff the rest of the food into my stomach. Luckily my brother was with us, so i threw half my tonkatsu to him. My mom gave him her oyaku-don as well. LOL.

The potato cheese mochi is a MUST-TRY! Super addictive. Semi-cripsy on the outside, soft in inside with melted cheese oozing out with every bite. ooh-la-la~ It's best to eat it hot though. So, eat it first before you start on your other dishes.

I love their curry as well and their udon is always bouncy - the way I like it. So far, I have not eaten anything that I'm not satisfied with.

    Two thumbs up :D

Oh if I had read your review earlier I'd have ordered the Potato Cheese Mochi last night! And the humongous size of that 'Regular' curry udon bowl is a little embarrassing for me.

My first time to try the Japanese food over there. Good thing when we reached there was that we did not have to queue up to be seated as there were many people there dining at that time. But one thing me and my friends were still very curious was that why did their staff told my friend that we couldn't reserve seats as the restaurant is being booked that night. Precisely, there is no such thing. But anyway, I think the environment is great. We managed to get seats near the Clarke Quay river. The service is good as staff will keep coming to our place to see whether we have any needs. As for food wise, I think it is only satisfactory. Food there isn't as fantastic as I thought.

Saw this outlet a couple of times but it was always packed. So decided to go there early one fine day to try it out, since I have always been a fan of Japanese food.

Together with my gf, we ordered quite a few dishes which included katsu don, fried vegetables, chicken kaarage, yakitori toban yaki and two glasses of chu-hi lime.

I must say that the food was indeed delicious and that the presentation of the food was quite pleasing to the eye as well ( though some of the bowls were really a bit too huge for just a few pieces of chicken.)

Overall, I would say that the food really is worth the money, but one thing to note is that the waiting time can be really long and also the space between two adjacent tables can be a little bit tight. Otherwise, I would strongly recommend Waraku to all Japanese food lovers
