Chanced upon Xin Wang at Marina Square and went in just cos my friends and I needed a drink from all the shopping. The atmosphere was really like that of those Hong Kong cafes, very lively, alot of people chatting and the restaurant is a way lot cleaner then those cafes in Hong Kong.

We ordered milk tea, ice peach tea, lime juice and and the HK Ying Yong. the presentation of the drinks in tall glasses and traditional metal tins were rather refeshing ideas.

We ordered as well the thick toast with condensed milk and peanut butter as well as some tim sum.

All in all, I feel that the restaurant has achieved it in terms of atmosphere, food and service.

    Will definitely go back again!

Went there for dinner today. Well, its not really a restaurant to recommend but if you like home cooked style of meals and don't really mind paying 2X the price compared to cooking at home then this is the place. In fact when I come to this place, there are a few standard items that can be ordered which I think are good and valued for money.

      1. Iced Lychee Tea (this definitely is a must for me)
      2. Iced Ying Yong
      3. Po Luo Bao
      4. Fried rice with pork floss (I tried today and will order it as a standard)
      5. Curry chicken with bread

The rest, just try once in a while when you got sick of the standards. But the menu is quite comprehensive, there are so many things in the menu its quite difficult deciding if you haven't been there before. However I will rather choose "Wang Kok " than "Xin Wang" for food though I prefer the tea at Xin Wang.

Its a good location for group outings though, the atmosphere is quite "Re4 Nao4" though the staffs there should learn more on service courtesy

I have been there only once. The place is comfortable but I dun like their service. Don't know why I feel that the staff there are not attentive at all. The food wise, I personally find that its so-so only compared to those I had in Hongkong. I have tried their Yuan Yang (mixed of coffee and tea). Maybe I am not use to having a mixture of both. Ended up I had runs. The price wise still reasonable. The taste are quite normal. Hmmm, I would pay the same amount for better food. :p

WAS being persuaded by my friend to go to Hong kong cafe for a meal .

Ok , so my friend and i went there for dinner, the price wise is reasonable. And the portion is quite big :D ! that's a good thing !

SO what surprised is how they served their drink in metal mug ! haha. It's kind of unglam to be served in the cafe as you see the environment is so comfortable ... However, it goes well since the restaurant call HONG KONG CAFE ! HAHA

For the service !!! ICHIBAN ! their staffs is friendly and really respone well to our requirements . Thumb up !

Well overall, the food is nice , service is nice, and atmosphere is nice ! Especially they played my favourite songs from S.H.E !!! WOW !!!

I DEFINATELY WILL BE BACK :D ( WAIT FOR ME )

am nv a huge fan of hongkong cafes. i find their food kinda dry (all the baked stuffs), and i prefer my food with gravy. usually go there only for dessert and to chat with frens. i suggest meals to be taken elsewhere, and hk cafes be reserved only for their beverages and dessert.

dessert portions can be quite big, so it's good for sharing with friends. but do check with the waitress if unsure, cos the pictures on the menu can be really deceiving!

              Dear Diary,

Today I brought my dad and mum out to TOWN for shopping.. Though they are not so IN... I've decided to show them the Hang Out Place for the Youngsters.. as what they always call us..

After the much shocking experience with jap fashion, everywhere piercings and pacifiers, I thought i should bring them back to earth for a while and there we are.. the most decent looking, normal chinese cafe... the XW Cafe...

Serving HongKong styled cuisines, My dad and mum heaved a sigh of relieve and then they got another shock.... My dad's Ice Kopi came in a metal mug... He can't help but have to hum the jian yu feng yun song... (Famous Movie starring Chow Yuan Fatt in jail).

My mum then ordered her favourite PorK Chop and its really true.... Hong Kong style PORK CHOP really nice.... Dad Ordered the nominal HorFun, perhaps coz he wants to have some fun... But boy.. its yummy. It came with 5 huge prawns all fresh and so crunchy.... The prawn juice pratically squirts out when i chew on it....Of Course.. I make sure i look gracious and very high class when i wipe the juice from my mouth.. heehee! I ordered this french toast thingee and it appeared as a cube of bread... But boy.. the maple syrup and the cold storage butter goes so well with the pipping hot french toast... As u slice the toast, the maple syrup drools down the side.. Can you imagine that....... Sooo Soooo Tantalizing....

When i finally manage to slice a nice piece and savour it in my mouth.. stars laterally appeared.. I'm not sure if its the yummy sensation or the low blood pressure.. but gosh I REALLY SEE STARs.... Since then I've decided that I'll BE BACK........

The price is reasonable and its a wonderful place to hang out with young or the NOT SO YOUNG Pals... Includes mum n dad.... NOT TO BE MISSED.....

It's the first hong kong cafe that i visited in Singapore. Overall verdit, not tat satisfying.

Didn't really try the noodles etc. at marina square. Only had kaya toast, poluo bun and black sesame paste. They all not really fantastic but the kaya toast is alright for it's price. Quantity for the kaya toast shocked me, too much for the price. (I've high expectation for kaya toast) I like the fact that there's pineapple in the poluo bun but i dislike the taste of the butter, it affected the overall taste of the bun. Black Sesame Paste, yet another disappointment it tasted TOO instant. Seriously, the food loft in marina square serve a better paste then them.

the environment is nice and service staff are ok too. not excellent service but ok on average. the dessert seems nice though n big in portion. would try if i pass by again, but wont go down specially for it.
