I have eaten at a lot of Ya Kun outlets but ahve to say that this is the ORGINIAL YA KUN outlet and everything was done to prefection, from the eggs to the toast to the drinks.

I will always drop by if I am around the area.

You must be thinking, why on earth must I review on Ya kUn when it is everywhere and everyone eats it almost every week?

Well, Ya kun Kaya Toast have numerous franchise and not all taste exactly the same. This actually came out in a newspaper article some time last year. A journalist went round trying the same things at the different outlets and yes, they do taste slightly different despite the same recipes.

There is afterall a skill in tea and coffee making.

Ya Kun is famous for its authentic coffee and tea that comes in thick porcelain cups, as well as its kaya toast. To ensure you enjoy the best and most original, drop by the outlet at Far East SQUARE..... that's right, not far east plaza... its a great difference.

The one at Far East Square is their first branch and cooking and preparation is handled by sturdy veterans who can shout your order from the outside of the shop to the inside of the kitchen.

Many working class people often drop by to packet takeaway tea and coffee. However, the place closes at around 5.30pm and parking maybe a little difficult though many consumers park their vehicles right along the roadside where they can keep a watchful eye for any men in white.

So the next time if you want Ya Kun Kaya Toast, go to the original branch at Far East Square. (It's near PWC building, at Raffles area)
