One thing that stands out at New York New York, is the long~ queues that you see outside the branches at CityLink or Ang Mo Kio Hub. Kind of makes you wonder, "what's so attractive about New York New York?", doesn't it?

Personally, I like New York New York for it's ambience and the cushioned seats, where I can chill and just have comfortable and nice talks with my friends while dining there. :)

However, with regards to their food, it was quite okay in my opinion. I had their pastas on the 2 occasions that I went, and they were okay. Nothing very special or extremely good that I'll recommend. Oh, but do note that the portions are in quite large.. x)

Hmm. The only thing that kind of stops me dining at New York New York, is their service.

Most of the staff are young and seemed new to their jobs. I can understand their stand when things get hectic and busy. However, they do provide less than acceptable service even when it wasn't the peak period!

I was at their branch at AMK Hub, and was frustrated when I wanted to get attention for some service. The 2 waitresses were just standing near the counters talking, and after trying for some time, they were still oblivious to our needs. It was disappointing that they were not vigilant, especially after making mistakes with our orders earlier. =/

Maybe New York New York should build up a more friendly and efficient service in the future..

Oh..you can get free cotton-candy there too! :)

Soft toys, stationery, photo-frames, cups/glasses etc.. These may sound common, but the variety of these items found in More Than Words are diversified and quite attractive.

More Than Words is the answer to your dilemma of getting gifts for your friends & your loved ones! :)

Walking into More Than Words always make me awed by the great range of items, big and small, in the shop. It makes me feel like a kid in her magic wonderland. =P Although some of the items are really common, but some other gift items are also found to be interestingly designed. Ah and there are many items with popular Disney and comic characters found there too.

Also, More Than Words has a wide range of prices for the gifts sold, which caters to the various age groups. Students can therefore easily fork out some cash to buy a suitable present for their friends or siblings there, while young adults may also find certain gifts there appropriate for those young at heart. =)

Oh, and if I do not remember wrongly, More Than Words has some of their stuffed toys readily wrapped and placed on the shelves. This makes it really convenient for those who are searching for a gift at the very last minute.. :)

Hmm..personally, I have not met with any incidents that gave me bad impressions of our bus drivers.

Instead, I have met with quite a few that are polite, courteous and were really serving the passengers to the best they could.

Two of the drivers I met, greeted every single passenger that went onboard the bus, with a smile. I was taken aback in fact, not used to a greeting aboard the bus, yet..it was heartwarming to have someone greet and smile at you when you are getting to work or school everyday, repeating the dull cycle and fighting the morning rush to get to your destination. A real chore, to be honest. Yet..the greet and smile certainly made the start of my day, a little better. :)

The other driver even took it to another level by announcing the destination of every next stop! Really, though I wondered if anyone was listening hard enough, it was really a heartwarming and interesting gesture that..I really appreciated. It's really not easy to be doing that, and..these little gestures really made my day. :)

Another encounter with a A-star driver, was just a few weeks back, where the weather outside was pouring cats and dogs. This particular driver was really thoughtful and made sure all his passengers got on and off the bus dry. Even when passengers at the bus stop were holding umbrellas and started walking the bus, which was behind, he made it a point to assure them, and motioned for them to wait at the stop, as he would move forward for them to board after the bus in front had left.

Also, more than once did I hear bus drivers patiently explaining enquiries about the directions/routes and bus numbers to passengers alike, and some even made the effort to inform these passengers when they have reached their destination.

Little gestures can mean so much. :)

I went exploring Arab Street, Haji Lane and other connecting lanes the other day, and in a beautiful lane,we spotted Blue Oasis.

Tucked in the heart of Kampung Glam, Blue Oasis is sitting in the midst of the amazing and interesting shops, waiting to be discovered, to serve those who are tired and in need of a comfortable zone for resting.

Ambience is really cosy and just puts your mind at ease, as you lay back and relax in the warm ambience. Looking out, you will be able to see the trees and shophouses opposite, through the traditional windows of Blue Oasis. Beautiful. And quiet. =)

A really wonderful place for you to put your heart at ease, to rest and really to just stop and take a break, look at the things around you. Furthermore, Blue Oasis offers Internet access, merchandise for sale and rental of the space where yoga lessons or private functions may be held.

Ah..beside enjoying the peace and ambience, the food is good too. :) Though..the portions were not huge, but I had their chicken chop and it was delicious. Mocha Freeze was also thick and really a delight, especially when the weather was blazing hot. Prices were really reasonable, and the service was excellent. :)

It's just a 5-minute walk from Bugis MRT station, and few people would know about it I guess. So..do check it out if you want a relaxing place for a meal, admist the rich cultural heritage environment!

A really nice place to chill and stay away from the hustle and bustle of the usual restaurants in the city. :)

I agree with genesis's review above that Manhanttan Fish Market has really good fish and chips! Unlike fish and chips at some other places, which are dry or too oily for liking, the fish served in MFM is really tasty and delicious. It melts in the mouth and oozes with delightable taste of the freshness.

I went there once and..i really like the cosy ambience..but yeah, would prefer it to be quieter to enjoy small talks with my friends. Yet overall, it was still okay, and the service was quite good. =)

Visit MFM if u love fish and seafood~ :)
