Eating at New York, New York has been a great experience. Well, I must say that I am one lucky individual to have not gotten through an ordeal in long wait, poor service or disappointment. It is my second top choice when I crave for Western food. They have big servings that make it favorable to share with your family or friends. The food is fantastic (well, I’m easy to please , as long as the food captures the taste I want). Dining in at this restaurant is like being in NY – hustle and bustle of the city, busy and crowded. But I like that and it does not discount the fact that NY is a hip place! I will keep coming back to NYNY as long as I lived, and as I’m in Singapore. Perhaps they can consider expanding to other countries like Manila? It’ll be a hit!
Have always wanted to go in to try the food cos the ambience look very good and the food looks good too. But because I always get off work at 6 plus, there will usually already be a queue. Thankfully, one of the days I tried to queue, it took me only 15 mins so my friends and I went in.
The ambience is really good, very vibrant place and the chit chattering around makes the whole place so lively.
The service crew was rather efficient and they were all quick to attend to customer's needs.
Food came about 10-15mins after we ordered and tasted rather good.
On the overall, I greatly enjoyed my experience there and will definitely be back there for more.
I have heard alot about this cool, hip cafe/ restaurant by many of my JC and Secondary seniors, mostly. This place is really good for classmates and alumni, the usual... (gathering, etc)....
For the price, it’s really neither good nor bad as it is expensive but really, really, really good. I especially like the ambience there. It rocks my socks. LOL. Its really nice to know that a place like this offers good desserts and ice cream and ,etc, etc in such a cool place. LOve the decor.
What I don’t really like about it is the fact that it's wayyy expensive. That’s really UGGHH, unattractive. I really hope they improve on this. That way NewyorkNewyork can attract more customers and therefore, business will take a turn for the better. YAY!
Other than that, I think this place is really gooooooodddd...
Hopefully, I get to go there more often, hahahahaha.... it’s really nice. It got me wanting more. Hahahaha.
I hope you go and try it. It’s really not that bad, ya know

NYWY at citylink always make me drool whenever i walked past and saw the display menu outside. Moreover, the ambience and the enviroment makes me 'die die' must go in and have a try.
Yesterday (1/11/08), I finally decided to pop in to celebrate my 1st year wedding anniversary with my hubby. The following was what really PISS ME OFF!!!!!
There was no crowd and plentiful of empty tables are available (very glad as business were really peak whenever i past by). I walk in (thinking that this kind of 'high class' restaurant is those 'Please wait to be seated' thing, though it didn't have that sign on display), i waited. After 5 minutes, nobody served me, i asked the waiter at the bar counter. He called his colleage over. This waitress gave me a look then turned to chat with the waiter and just walked off. I felt like an idiot.
I was famished. I made my way in and halfway, being companied by a supervisor (in black formal). While i was flipping thru' the menu, 1 waiter came with a big serving of fish n chips wanting to serve it to me. Upon realizing that he had probably gone to the wrong table, he just walked off. This happened 2 times.
I asked for my desert to be served first as I was really very hungry and thinking that desert will be much faster (normally desert takes just a few minutes). However, after 5-10 mins, a waiter told me that the desert got to wait at least 10-15 mins then i suggested the main course to be served first.
Another like 20-30mins gone. The table beside mine came in after me but they got their food first. I felt that something is definitely not right. I called a waitress over and asked her to check for me saying that if the main course had not start cooking, i want to cancel my order. She went to check. Asking me if the desert had serve yet, I said no, she said she would go check again. Next, a supervisor came and told me that the main course would be served 2 mins later. This time, i am blewing my top already. I ask if he meant that they had not even started cooking?! He just said 2 mins. I insisted to cancel my order.
Another 5 mins past, my bill came. I was charged for the desert. Angry, I followed the waiter to the cashier. Upon settling the payment, they did not even apologised for their LOUSY SERVICE. We just walked off.
Not to say I am a demanding customer, would anyone control his temper when he is damn famish?! I am a person who enjoy food and i like to visit restaurants and cafes (desert came immediately when i suggested it to be served 1st).
The above experience made me decided not to EVER STEPPED INTO NYNY AGAIN!!! THEY SHOULD REALLY GO REFLECT ON THEIR BAD SERVICE!!!!
ate at nyny @ citylink once, and i was delighted by the quality of the food i was served. together with my fren we ordered quite no. of dishes, and all was pretty up to standard. i think this really explains the perpetual long queues seen outside the restaurant, esp on weekends.
something worth mentioning is that you find pretty funky food items here not found elsewhere. basically they mix and match certain ingredients and while you could be apprehensive at first when reading the menu (like i was), you may be surprised at how well the combo can actually taste.
prices are not all that cheap, but reasonable for the quality of food, ambience, and service that you receive. worth a visit, if u dont mind the queue!
I had walked past this place so many times and yet I had not had a thought of walking in for a meal. There are a few reasons, first being there always seem to be a long queue outside the restaurant. Secondly, the place serves the kind of food that does not appeal to me. Thirdly, I was always in rush when I was walking past this place. So finally one fine day, we decided to give this place a try, well there was no queue and I thought that it was all good timing. I sort of regretted my choice when I stood there waiting to be shown to a table.
The place did not seem crowded, in fact can see a few empty tables, but we have to wait at the counter. It seems like the waiters and waitresses, even the managers (well they are the ones wearing more formal), are all very busy and everywhere except the counter where we are waiting. Not even one saw us standing at the counter, making me like an idiot. After about 5 mins of waiting, I told my partner that I will count to five, if till then, no one comes up to us, we will go another place for dinner. Lucky enough (don’t know for them or us), we were ushered to a table that is pretty much near to the edge of the corridor where tons and tons of people walked past, felt like animals on display.
The decoration of the place is pretty much trying to be hip and getting the attention of the teenagers, so that they can come in, eat and spend money. There is a pool table to play and even a candy floss station where you can get free candy floss. There are tables like a capsule where a big group can be seated together. The rest of the tables are like those normal kind.
Well after the bad start, my mood was not very good to start off with. Being seated at that location, it was difficult to get the attention of the waiters. It was really frustrating but finally managed to get one and come and take our orders. So what we ordered?
Root beer float @ $7.60: This came in the A&W style. Big mug of nice cold root beer with a big scoop of ice cream in it. Nothing special but it still taste great. Nice. I do find it a bit expensive for it though. Sigh.
London style fish and chip @ $9.90: This came with a big piece of fish, chips and tartar sauce. That it! No coleslaw or salad or whatever. This is really a ripped off! The fish is a bit flaky, not really fresh, maybe frozen. The batter is a bit too thick. Nothing to wow about. I wonder what do they mean by the London part. I understand in London they served it with vinegar but I dun see them doing that. Hmm….. This is really disappointing.
American Coleslaw @ $4.90: I don’t know it is me or the coleslaw but I do find the taste of the coleslaw a bit weird. Maybe too much mayo or too much vinegar but it does not taste like any normal coleslaw. I got to say this is one of the worst coleslaw that I ever eaten. It was so bad that I did not even finished the whole coleslaw. It is that bad. There is no way I am going to order that again.
Rotisserie Chix Whole @ $14.90: After eating or tasting all the above mentioned food, I did not have high expectation for this dish. However, I was wrong. The dish turned out to be great. The chicken was moist and tender, not dry at all. The size of the chicken is also quite huge, for small eaters, they can just order this and share. The sauce that came with the chicken is perfect for it. This dish is above average. Try this and you will not regret especially after a string of disappointments. This is the one that deserves 4 stars.
After this, we decided to give the desserts a miss and asked for the bill. Again, it took us sometime to get the attention of the waiters for the bill. The bill came to us pretty fast but we paid for it and waited for it to return. We waited and waited with the water at least topped up twice. We asked for the waiter to check on the bill but it seems that it never came back. I wonder why? In the end, I got a bit pissed off and signaled to the manager and ask him to check the bill which after a wait of 10 mins, the waiter finally brought it back to us. I really wonder what happen at that time. I have therefore decided after this experience, there is NO CHANCE that I will ever return to this place for any meal ever again!

This is my second time at new york new york. I remembered from my previous trip that the servings were quite huge at reasonable prices.
This time, I ordered the meadow lane sandwich. $7.90
The vegetables were roasted until tender. Mushrooms were fresh. personally, i liked it.
My friends ordered the mushroom pizza and the fish filet linguine. they said it was alright. nothing spectacular.
The thing i love about nyny is the ambiance. so i don't really mind going there once in a while just to hang out.
