       D&C (Design & Comfort)
Located at Central, 6 Eu Tong Sen Street, Singapore 059817, this D&G shoe shop is on the 2nd level. As my mother and I approached the shop to look at the shoes, there was already a Caucasian family, most probably tourists, in the shop trying on the shoes. Anyway, my mother and I thought that the designs and price were really affordable and hence decided to step into the shop to look around some more. None of the shop staffs came over and greet us, let alone make eye contact at all. One of the shop staffs, a girl in a green sweater, gave us the "Can't you see we're busy with the tourists?" look while the rest of her colleagues were cooing and fussing over the caucasian family. My mother happened to receive a phone call from my brother asking which shop unit where we in, and the girl in the green sweater actually start to give us an accusing stare, like as if we were going to cause a commotion at the shop front and steal a pair of shoes when they are not alert. I confirmed with my mother a couple more times if any of the staffs came over and greeted her at all and my mother firmly insisted that no one came over and ask if we need help or what kind of shoes are we looking for. One shop staff was serving the caucasian family while the rest of them simply stood around the caucasian family, oblivious to the fact that we are also customers wiating to be served. Lousy service, especially with shop staffs who served only tourists, caucasian tourists to be exact while ignoring Singaporean customers. The ony time there was any other reaction was when the shop staff in the green sweater shouted a friendly greeting to the shop owner next door, and still no greetings to us at all! It's not like we were nasty or rude when they came over and greeted us, they simply ignore us from the moment we stepped into the shop until we stepped out and my mother angrily commented: "狗眼看人底. 二十几岁就这样的服务态度!" The best part? Those sales girls definitely looked younger than me...

         Starbucks Vivo 2nd level
Basically, I have no complaints about Starbucks. Their staffs are always friendly, compared to the lousy services I got elsewhere. To them, they treat their customers like proper customers and also good friends. So, going to Starbucks is always a definite pleasure from me as I always get a smile from them, regardless of gender, race, religion. My only grouse? If you check out the link of Starucks I've posted above, the site says that the Starbucks store (on the 2nd level) is supposed to be opened for business at 0730hrs every day, no matter rain or shine, normal days or pulic holidays. But lately, for the past few weeks (close to a month), their store is only opened for business after 0830hrs. Either the manager/store-in-charge cannot wake up on time or that their pay does not enable them to buy watches for themselves. Sometimes when I work in the morning shift and I crave for a cuppa, only to realise that their shop is still not opened despite reaching there at 0845hrs....

So, if you plan to grab a cuppa in the morning, please think twice. It is best to go to Starbucks Vivo (2nd level) only after 0930hrs when they are really "opened" for business. Alternatively, you might be better off if you go to Pacific Coffee instead as they are always opened at 0730 or 0800 sharp.

P/S: This photo was snapped at 0855 when they are "opened" for business. I was already hanging around there from 0830 onwards and they weren't opened yet...

For starters, I never bought a single item from this shop. Want to know the reason why? The staff(s) are really bo-chap and whenever I have some movie enquiries, they give me half hearted answers and expect me to be satisfied with whatever they say. Recently, I went over to see if they are still selling Bleach VCD Season 1, mind you I don't mind if they have the ODEX version or whether it was released by any other companies whatsoever. Anyway, they don't have it and whatever they have, it's for rental only. So I enquired at the cashier counter if they sell Anime VCDs instead of renting it out and they simply replied "No!". They didn't even recommend me to try their other branches or whatsoever and simply proceed to serve another customer.

Then prior to this incident, about last year, I heard that they might be bringing in the Special Edition of FFVII: Advent Children and enquired once again if they have stocks for it. Once again, the answer was just simply "No!" and they didn't even bother to explain why they don't have stocks. Is it because they were sold out fast or stocks haven't arrived yet, I am not sure. And right after telling me "No!", the girl who answered my enquiry simply went back to doing her work while I was standing in front of the cashier counter looking like an idiot for a full 5 minutes while still anticipating that maye she was checking to see if stocks were available. Basically, whatever I needed or wanted to buy, they don't have to stocks for it and they simply don't bother to find out more from me at all.

It is a rather disappointing experience again and again with their bo-chap-ness. Now, I simply went in to see if stocks for any movies that I wanted (new titles) are in before I make my way to TS Group that is currently located on the 3rd level which is right beside Streets Café Restaurant.

             BreadTalk HarbourFront
Normally, I always go to BreadTalk VivoCity but on this particular day, I was running late and seeing that there was no queue at BreadTalk Harourfront, I decided to go there instead. I thought it would be a change from the regular sad and grouchy faces I always encountered at the VivoCity branch. But alas, this branch actually disappoints me as well. You see, the cashier never smiled at me nor return my greetings and when payment was over, she simply grabbed the receipt and shoved it into my bag of bread like as if she's shoving rubbish into a rubbish bag. It's really disheartening to see such behaviour and guess what? A week later while passing by BreadkTalk Harbourfront, I saw the same cashier serving 2 male customers (the only customers at that time) and she was smiling so sweetly at them....

Seriously, I'm considering going somewhere else for delicious bread, cheaper prices and better service...

Salmon Kabuto Miso   Spicy Salmon Carpaccio   Kajiki Sashimi   Anago Sushi   Salmon being prepared on the cutting board
Well, my 5 cents worth of review. I totally agree with Jeslyn Tee (by any chance if the manager's a guy, that means we're on the same "boat" lor..), the manager really spoils the experience but the staffs there really make up for it.

Anyway, my family and I decided to went there for a late breakfast and we were lucky that it was a staff who served us. The manager report for work only 1 hour later and throughout our meal, the staff were so nice and polite that everything went well. And the worst part, the manager worked with a very pissed off face like as if the customers were not supposed to be there in the first place. I happened to take some photos for my blog (http://sexybluemame.blogspot.com/2008/03/ichiban-sushi.html) and throughout it all, the manager started to give me dirty looks as much as possible. But still, I'll go back there again for my once-in-a-while sushi dining fix, not only for the sushi, but also for the wonderful service from the staff too. Let's just hope the manager is not on duty when I go back there..
