Their grand opening was on 23rd November, and being a sucker for good dining deals, I went with my family to check them out.

A special price of $15 nett was ongoing the whole day and we went for dinner there. The only catch is a one and a half hour dining limit and they track this by viewing your receipt which is to be pasted on the table.

First thing I saw was half shell scallops sitting prettily on the ice bed. Sashimi were aplenty but I did not take them as I don't like their taste in the first place. Sushi were also aplenty and the next corner is what I love about the place.

A wide range of fried stuff lined the next table. I spied fried prawn rolls and potato wedges and hurriedly grabbed them. They tasted as good as they looked, well heated and crisp.

Further down is the soups. There was wild truffle and cream of chicken soup, which tasted rather ordinary.

There are sticks of tofu down the road, where you could dipped them in holes filled with steaming water. It is not oily at all and rather healthy, so it is easier to stomach in bigger quantities.

There is also a prominent coffee bar, where you could order latte and other sorts of coffee without additional charge. Their lemonade was pretty nice too.

The more expensive and delicious stuff were ala carte and only two clips were supplied to a table at a time and returned to you after your order have arrived. The king prawn were delicious and the lamb chop perfectly fine.

I went to the Singapore Discovery centre on the 23rd of November, which happens to be the day which they are hosting the 3DX festival.

First things first, the inner gallery. Interactive panels that feature a wide range of topics dot the whole gallery, with most even include a mini-game to engage hands-on activity. The sonar infomation panel depicts different types of sounds dectected by sonar waves and the types of sonar, and the mini-game completes the whole experience.

The crisis simulation theatre also features a realistic depiction of a bomb explosion at Raffles Place MRT station and the loud explosion, the "flaming" screen, the surround sound system which surrounds the theatre with frenzied screams made some of the viewers jump.

The 3DX theatre is lined with plush red seats and tickets for the 3D shows have to be reserved in advance right after the purchase of admission tickets. I watched the Sea Monsters and Mummies show and found them to be very engaging and found myself being teleported to a different age in that instant.

Overall, the "discovery" experience was very well generated with numerous updated exhibits and a great theatre.

seating   seating 2   iced water :)   garlic bread   salad
This place is tucked in a maze of restaurants selling a mindboggling range of food.

I went during the evening. The air was cool and everything so I thought, wow, what a nice place to chill out. Literally.

The chef salad was medicre, it came as a recommendation but did not stand out well enough for the others I've tried. The chicken chunks in it was lightly marinated and tasted quite juicy, which improves the taste of this otherwise average salad a notch.

Iced water was served without request- and nicely adorned with a slice of zesty lemon.

The garlic bread came out warm and fragrant, a butter- and -cheese paradise. Moist in the centre and crisp at the edges, this one stood out from the previous ones I tasted.

The best swimming complex in Singapore!

The snake slide is visible even when you are outside the swimming complex. The slide is towering. I havent really dared to try the tallest slide yet, only the lowest one. That is enough to make me shiver.

Water gushes down the slide and forces you to go on with it. Once you make up your mind to slide down the dark tunnel there is no looking back. The water and the smooth curve of the slide propels you downwards until a sudden circle of light appears in front of you and...you are dunked butt first into the water.

The wave pool is also another highlight. Waves come at regular intervals and you can rent tubes to float in when the waves come. Alternatively, you can do without the tubes and brave the waves! Definately fun and always filled with laughter.

I hardly visit Harvey Norman, except, of course, with the introduction of the Photo Centre.

It is always located outside any Harvey Norman store and clearly visible to any passer-by, designed to cater to anybody with the urge to develop photos and want it instantly.

Although they are touted to develop instantly, the person told me to wait five minutes. Thats fine, I said. However, the photos actually are developed after 10mins. So its not really instant. But close enough.

The promotions vary everytime, with promotions even changing several times a month. The current one is the free personalised 2009 calender with 50 4R prints, which is quite worth it. However, if you just want regular $R prints, they usually have promtions where 4R prints are priced at only 19cents.
