Our favourite NTUC outlet cos it's so conveniently located, spacious, well laid out and not as crowded as other outlets.
Ample basement carpark (with travellators to the supermarket), free shuttle from Toa Payoh, Novena, Lavender MRT stations, connected directly to Farrer Park (NEL) station.
The entrance is wide and welcoming. Fruits and vegetables are arranged near the entrance on tilted racks which display their freshness. Chilled products are easily found on three walls of the market, and refrigerated products located next to the registers.
Dry grocery items are stocked on large wide shelves at the back of the store, while specials are all grouped together in one section to locate easily.
Plenty of registers, so the queues are really not too bad. And there are dedicated Green and Express counters too.
Jean Yip Bishan is my all-time fave salon. The staff there are particularly friendly and welcoming and the location is best for when you are waiting to catch a movie at GV upstairs. Just pop by for a wash or trim.
The receptionist June is very friendly and helpful. She went out of her way to assist me to look up my package, even though I made it clear that I was not there for a haircut. (in contrast the receptionist at Plaza Singapura was condescending, unhelpful and rude).
I was so happy with the service that I eventually did cut my hair and bought some product from them. My sister who was with me was happy with their introduction of their services and is keen to sign up a package.
Quite a big difference from other salons/outlets who only give you good service when you wave money in front of them ...
This quaint little cafe is the only decent place to get a light meal at SAFRA Mount Faber (unless you can afford the Chinese restaurant upstairs, or prefer something light at Yakun).
Situated right next to the swimming pool, it's the perfect place to satisfy your hunger pangs after that energetic swim or lazy dip in the pool. However, on weekends, it's usually booked for childrens partys or filled with parents accompanying their children for swimming classes.
Otherwise, its the perfect to enjoy a quiet meal and take in the peaceful surroundings of Mount Faber from the large windows. (or check out the hunks and babes at the pool)
The cafe serves a mix of Asian and Western cuisine at rather affordable prices (10% for SAFRA members). The weekday set from $9.90 includes soup, main course, beverage and dessert of the day.
Choices: Chicken Baked Rice or Spaghetti Bolognaise (Mon), Potter’s Half Spring Chicken or Baked Fish (Tue), Teriyaki Chicken or Fish & Chips (Wed), BBQ Chicken Drumleg or Lamb Stew & Rice (Thu), Honey Baked Chicken or Vegetarian Spaghetti (Fri)
Bistro Delifrance's weekday set lunch is really good value! You get a choice of two daily specials ($7.90/11.90) which comes with starter of the day, coffee/tea and a dessert of the day. It's actually quite a full meal and quite satisfying!
$7.90 choices: Grillled Chicken with Mushroom Sauce (Mon) Beef Spaghetti Aglio Olio (Tue) Chicken Ham Spaghetti (Wed) Creamy Mushroom Spaghetti with Chipolata (Thu) Fish Milanese (Fri)
$11.90 choices: Bangers & Mash or Beef Meatballs Spaghetti (Mon) Chicken & Steak with Garlic Brown Sauce or Fish & Chips (Tue) Beef, Lamb & Sausage Mixed Grill or Seared Fish with Lemon Pepper Sauce (Wed) Seafood Spaghetti Aglio Olio or Chicken Steak with Mushroom Sauce (Thu) Grilled Sirloin with Black Pepper Sauce or Baked Fish Fillet with Meuniere Sauce (Fri)
Set meal is available from 11.30am onwards, Mondays to Fridays at Bistro Delifrance outlets:
The Suntec POSB is one of those evening branches in the city area, which provides convenient basic banking services to busy executives like myself which otherwise would not be able to do banking after work. It is also located in a very convenient, visible and accessible area of Suntec City Mall which makes it easy to drop by after dinner or shopping in the area.
But my grouse with the branch is that too few tellers are staffing it in the evening for it to be an effective branch. The queue in there stretched up to about twenty-five people waiting to be served and there were about two to three tellers struggling to move the queue along. In fact, the poor tellers were automatically apologising to each customer they served for the long wait (which by the way, is EXCELLENT customer service/damage control).
The management of the bank must realise that due to the location of this evening branch, there are also a lot of foreign workers, foreign students and tourists who show up to the bank to get assistance with their bank accounts. Like all of us, they work/study during the day so they can only come at night.
Unlike basic deposit/withdrawal services, account services can take up to twenty minutes to sort out. This holds us the rest of the queue and can be very frustrating.
Hope the service improves at this branch, because we really need its services!
