Borrowing the tagline of a famous fastfood has-been in the Philippines, Seah Street Deli is the place to be, especially when you want to satiate your gastronomic desire for Western delight (no pun intended). Coming from a nation that is heavily Americanized and inhabited by extreme food lovers, there is perpetual craving for burger and fries – the official comfort food. I am very lucky to have followed most of my local friends’ recommendation.

I have lunched in for a few times already at Seah Street Deli in Raffles Hotel. I usually have the same dishes – Seah Street Deli Burger, Caesar salad and chocolate decadence cake. The result is still the same – happy and contented. Seah Street Deli Burger are not oily; they are tasty! Caesar salad is always fresh. My favorite sweet ender, the uberly yummylicious Chocolate Decadance. It’s perfect for a chocolate cake (yet a slice)!

I will be back in Seah Street Deli soon… to explore other dishes and have the same feeling of having gone to nirvana. Heavenly.

I am a big fan of Fried Hokkien Mee. In fact, there are quite a number of food courts i have been through that serves very good Fried Hokkien Mee, however having one at Thye Hong's in Wisma Food Republic is the most unique experience I had..

My first queue at this stall, I was among the first 5 in the line, and from there I am able see how this hat-wearing chef meticulously add in and mixed up the ingredients and spices to be served for I think 10 plus person in that huge frying pan. He was like doing this thing for a "show" because a number of curious by passers in this stall stop to watch how he stir fries the noodles like playing fencing. From time to time, he also try the cooking noodles.. calculating from his taste buds if the stuffs he put in are in sync. In approx 12-15 minutes its done and ready to be serve in a dry leaf plate.

Though the taste is comparable to those i have taken from other food court, the food preparation and the presentation is the selling point here i should say. You wont be able to appreciate more this simple Fried Hokkien Mee if you did not see how it is being prepared by this master chef.

      Cheers to hat-wearing chef!

Lucky Plaza is a place for Filipinos like me to hang out, but then was surprised of seeing such a queue in an Indonesian Restaurant in this mall. This curiousness made me went thru this resto and get to taste their famous ayam penyet. And behold... it is really tasty..to the bones! The chilli really bites in the mouth so i took 2 Ice Botol as refreshment. What can i say...its worth the queue!

With the many times I eaten here, i have tried a couple of times taking my meal in bare hands, which i adapt from others eating here. It really made the eating experience more enjoyable.

By word of mouth, I was able to tell my Filipino friends about this fine restaurant and they had the same good eating experience i had. Though its an indonesian resto, it surely captures pinoy's (slang for Filipino) taste.

While ayam penyet is the best seller, must try are their pecel lele, ikaw bawal, beef ball soup, and gado-gado.

1st time I've eaten to this place (alone), i fell in love with the Mushroom Cheese Prata. Combined with Ice Milo, makes it more enjoyable. From then on, I always bring a company along so I got someone to share the joy in eating to this lovely place. My wife and sister are now also a big fan of their prata, taking mushroom cheese prata and and murtabak respectively as their hitlist. Whenever we go in group of 4 and more, we always order their Curry Chicken and mee goreng as side meal. I also like the festive atmosphere of this place, coz it a lil bit crowded especially weekend nights.. not surprised! =)
