    1. Cheeky Chocolates

I first chanced upon this place when my BF drove past Thomson. I was enticed by its cute name and had always wanted to try it. When they opened another branch at iluma, bugis, I went to try it.

I had visited the place a couple of times and had tried :

    1) The Cheeky Choc Crepe
    2) Shrooms are Good Crepe
    3) Vanilla Crepe
    4) All Day Breakfast - Eggy Set
    5) Cheeky Frozen Hot Chocolate beverage

My verdict : Only visit for their choc-related items. Although their crepes are not bad, it's nothing to WOW about. Their Eggy breakfast set (scrambled and sunny sideup with toast, baked beans n bacon ) was a letdown as the portion was pretty small and not the kind of hearty breakfast I was expecting.

I was surprised to see such a bad review of CHIC, coz personally this is my current favourite magazine. I love it that they feature pocket-friendly fashion and blogshops which is very appealing to people like me who are stuck in a "not a girl, not yet a woman" age. Other established magazines are full of adverts and such expensive clothes that most Singaporean average woman cannot really afford. And at $2.80 a copy, it offers me the kind of information and articles I am interested to read.

They recently set up this "Flea" database where people can put up sale posts for their preloveds, I wrote in to feedback on a certain issue and they were quick enough to get back to me and accepted my suggestion. So I was very impressed.

I guess there won't be a magazine where it can appeal to everyone. One man's meat can be poison to the other.

I was very glad to see Domino's back. I first chanced upon their outlet in Bukit Timah and was all excited to try their pizza. The chance came last Sunday, I called their delivery hotline at about 7.25pm and I ordered their Value Meal 1 for $29.80 which consisted of :

1 Regular Pizza (The Big BBQ)
        1 Jumbo Wings (4 Pcs)
        1 Garlic Cheese Onion Rings
        1 BreadStix with BBQ Sauce

I was told by the operator that my pizza will be delivered to me within 30 minutes, which means they should reach me at latest 7.55pm. However, my pizza took almost 1 hour to reach me, it only came at about 8.20pm. Furthermore, the delivery guy has forgotten to bring the receipt and we had to tell him how much was our order.

Honestly, I was very disappointed in that as they had strived hard to promote their company to be the fastest pizza delivery and yet they couldnt deliver. I remembered the first time I tried Domino's was back about 10 years ago, and I still remembered clearly that the pizza was also late and my relative had requested them to give us a refund.

But it was lucky that the good food made up of the late delivery, Domino's pizza was as good as what I can remembered. Their crust are light and fluffy and ingredients are fresh. However, their onion ring and breadstik can be better without so much oil. Overall, the food was great and I will still consider them when I have my next pizza crave.

My colleague highly recommended this place for our department dinner last week. All of us were not disappointed. Tien Siang originated from Taiwan and the owner of the outlet here is also a true blue Taiwanese so there is no doubt about the authenticity of the food here.

For the appetizer, we were served this Lotus Root in Salted egg yolk. This was PURE LOVE for me as I simply love anything fried with salted egg yolk. The lotus root was sliced so thin and fried till so crispy then you simply cannot stop at one or 2 pieces. There is also this Salad with Smoked Duck. The veggies were so freshly green and you can hear the crisp in every bite. The duck was also very nicely done and just tender enough.

For our steamboat, we opted for the Ma La Soup and the non-spicy chicken soup. Both soup were a bit too saltish for my more “senior” colleagues but youngsters like me and my other colleagues thought it was OK. They have quite a variety of interesting items like one that is Mushrooms wrapped in Tofu, Fishball with mozerella cheese, just to name a few.

We had the set meal meant for 8pax for the group of 9 of us and we simply cannot finish all the food. Total bill came up to about $400 (we ordered a $88 red wine and other ala carte items) The place is a hidden gem in Robertson Walk and a great place for friends gathering over a nice yummy steamboat session.

               BBQ Chicken Pizza   Rite Pizza
Rite Pizza is my new love. I first tried it at my colleague's place and has been a fan ever since.
Their pizzas are as good as P.H, I especially love that their pan pizza's crust are not as thick as PH so you won't feel overwhelmed to have to finish the whole piece.

I especially love their BBQ Chicken pizza which is loaded with ingredients, and it's juicy and flavourful. Their chicken wings are also fantastic and not to be missed. Their prices are also reasonable but do take their combo set, it's very worth it !
