My BF and I booked a 4D3N package tour to Kota Kinabalu with Planet Travel in May.
My review is that the staff there are rather inexperienced and is lacking alot of basic information regarding the countries they offer.

    1) The lady we approached refer us to tours in West Malaysia when we told her we were looking for EAST Malaysia packages.
    2) We had to call them up to check if we can already pay for the balance, instead of the other way
    3) We were left stranded at the KK airport with no shuttle service or person in charge to meet us as promised, when we called them up, they told us to
take a taxi to the hotel ourselves and claim the cabfare when we get back

Lucky the trip itself was pleasant enough to make up for all these bad experiences. For a little more, you can definitely go to a better agent with more years into business and gives better service and assurance.

I first visited this place back when it first started in about late 2007? I was blown away by the yummy food, esp their Red Curry Prawns and Tom Yum Soup which was really tasty and full of flavour. I went back there in mid 2008 and was not disappointed again.. They have quite a variety of items on their menu to choose from and prices are OK. Service was also good and prompt, perhaps due to the fact that there isnt much crowd at that time.

I went back yesterday as I was craving for the prawns again. Was surprised to see that they're offering an Ala Carte Dinner Buffet at $15.90 , so decided to try it out. Menu Variety was considered ok, we ordered 5-6 dishes to try and ordered drinks - Chinese Tea & Cranberry Juice. Here comes the bad experience, first the waitress served us the wrong Tea, she gave us Thai Ice Tea instead of CHINESE tea and assumed we were the one who mis-pronouced the drink. And then the first 2 dishes - Tom Yum Soup and Fried Tofu with sweet chili sauce took 10minutes to arrive, and the next dish, Phad Thai took a whole 15 more mins to arrive. All these time while the dishes of other tables keep coming out and being served. We checked with the "boss" on the status of their food and was shocked to hear "oh, it's like that, it's buffet so u have to wait..." and when we checked if we can add in some more orders, he told us better dont, later you can't finish and you'll waste the food..." We were speechless..

We couldnt bear to order any other food, in fear that we're not sure when will the next dish arrives.
Total bill came up to about $40 and we have to pay 10% service charge where clearly, we didn't seem to have receive any service at all. It's a pity as the food were clearly not bad, just that the service needs a whole lot more improvement.

Looks like I do not need to travel all the way there to try the food. :)

I am surprised to see a review on Jaime's Chocolates here.. As mentioned, it is indeed a rare gem hidden in TPY... I chanced upon it when I went for a movie.. The chocolates were displayed in such a nice manner that you're tempted to want to try and buy them all. She also has alot of diff shapes of chocs (mahjong tile, gold bar, mouse, duck, bears, etc)

I bought individual pralines for my colleagues during Vday last year, and for $3.40, it comes in a nice little box with a ribbon.. It looks so pretty that some of my colleagues still keep the box!

The chocs are incredibly smooth and good. I especially like their Double Deck Milk/Dark Choc Bar..It's a wonderful mix of milk and dark choc.. It's rather exp at $8 per bar but definitely worth every cent. It's certainly diff from the normal chocs u get fr supermarkets, but much cheaper and comparable to the higher end chocs.. The shop owner, I assumed she's Jaime is also a friendly and smiley lady, so buying fr her is always a nice experience.

I went to Mt Pleasant in April when I sent my BF's pet Guinea Pig for cremation. It was a Saturday afternoon and the place was packed with people. There was a "closed for registration" sign at the counter, and having no directions on where to go to, we just stood at the counter, waiting to be attend to. There was about 2, 3 staff behind the counter but it took like 5-8 mins before one attended to us. We told her we needed to cremate our pet and she handed us a form.

The whole process took some time, as she went back and fro doing her things. I felt they were not sympathetic and doesnt really have very good customer service.

In contrary, when we collected the ashes from the 'referral clinic' the other day, the lady was much more polite and courteous. They must have put the wrong service staff at the wrong place!

Dr Grace Heng is also a Rabbit-Savvy vet recommended by House Rabbit Society Singapore. There are not many vets in Singapore who knows about rabbits and Dr Heng is one such great doc for bunnies! Every time I visit her, I see a few other rabbit-owners who were there.

Her charges are also quite reasonable and slots are not difficult to get as long you give 1-3 days notice. If you have to walk-in, good to be the first in line, they'll definitely see you before the first appointment. I tried a few times and I m grateful that I don’t have to wait for a long time. The staff there are courteous and takes time to explain the medication to you.

It's great to find a good vet especially when the pet isn't as popular as dogs or cats. I had a lot of trouble finding a vet for my lovebirds!
