Lunar, Asian Fusion Bar, not Canto Bar. That was the image screaming at me when I entered. The deco was mainly influenced by the 60s Shanghai Nightlife, but with a touch of western with their random chandeliers, artistically nude paintings of women in different races and poses, sofas that popped out of Austin Powers.
They feature a few live bands every night, and their house band, The Lunar Band, sings so well they beat any local band hands down. Especially when the singer is so short, it feels like a compact power house.
On the Opening Night, they had this other band called Blackstone, the singer should be a China Chinese too but when she covered Shakira's whenever wherever, it sounded like those tracks played during the performer's resting time. Shockingly, there's no Chinese accent.
Prices of their poison are slightly higher than places like Timbre and Brewerkz, however the place might give you some CNY decoration ideas.
Sometimes, promos such as one-for-one, FOC house pours will make your time there more worthwhile.
