Of all the takoyaki outlets in Singapore, I pronounce this the best!
The website states the price as $2 for 3 balls, however, due to recent price changes, is currently at $2.20.
I always request mine without the black sauce although thats what some say is the unique point of eating these little flour balls which originated from Japan.
There are 3 flavours, namely the octopus( the popular choice), the prawn and the bacon and cheese one. The crowd favourite seem to be the octopus ball, and I could see why so.
The ball is a lightly crisp mass, delightfully soft and warm( warning: do not munch on it immediately, it would be piping hot!) and creamy. Unlike other brands, the octopus filling is generous and if you are lucky( which is 80%), you would get the tentacle part which is the tastiest. It came in a wholesome chunk that is highly addictive when paired with the flour ball.
The prawn ball is also decent, and the prawn filling is just as tender and delicious. I have yet to ty the bacon and cheese one, but it comes without the mayo and sauce though you can make a request for it.
The bonito flakes that tops it is light and fluffy and usually I would ask for more without paying extra( they are the most willing to give you). Definately a great way to grab a quick, affordable snack on the way!
