I went to this place even before I joined the ping.sg event here. Unlike when I was in ping.sg event, I was dining in the lower floor. Couldn't remember anymore what I ordered, but I remember the tea was so nice! Well, it's a tea restaurant anyway.. My boyfriend (that time was a new boyfriend =P) ordered the rosebud tea. My other friends ordered many exotic tea. Haha. One of them ordered the wild berries tea. After that she added honey into that and she was really really amazed by the honey. After that, every sip she took, she would add the honey! It's that good.. Haha..
Can't remember what I had for ping.sg event either. I think it was cajun dory. Even though I don't remember the name I do remember that it was very very nice! And what I like the most... Is the dessert! The dessert that came to my place was apple crumble with some vanilla ice cream. Oh goodness it was so good! I think i was the one who ate the most =P sorry my friends at the table... =P
i want to visit this restaurant again! Will drag my boyfriend... =P

I don't really like this branch of kolo mee. You see, I'm a big fan of kolo mee for its tasty noodles! But this branch simply doesn't cut it. Location is not nice and noisy since it's on the roadside. Furthermore it's kinda dusty from the road, too. They serve the same menu and I ordered the same thing as usual (recommended kolo mee - with char siew, wanton, and prawn), but it didn't taste as nice! Gotta put a lot of chilli before I finally got to the familiar tasty taste. It's kinda more oily than the one in Killiney too.
If you really crave for kolo mee, I suggest you take the trip to Somerset and go to the Killiney branch instead. It will be more worth it.

However all in all, I really like this place! I used to come here with my group of friends, chatting crap endlessly. How I miss those times! Will urge them to come again!

(borrowing Singaporean term) It's really hard to find a good chilli here in Singapore, I tell you. Most of the chilli I find is too sweet or not spicy at all. Bleah. Well, I can understand if genesis ^ can't take the chilli..Singapore's tongue juz can't tolerate hot chilli I guess since there are hardly any spicy chilli here. Hahaha.
I also love their gado-gado! Gado-gado is some kind of salad (since basically they throw in many types of vegetables inside), plus some beancurds and some lontongs (rice) covered with yummy peanut sauce. Oh the glorious peanut sauce. I remember the last time I ate this I was so full I had difficulty to get up from my seat! LOL.
They also serve many interesting beverages. I'm not really keen to drink sweet beverages so usually I only order hot tea. However there's a popular beverage there : Soda Gembira. It literally means "Happy Soda". Hahaha. Won't explain what it is. Just go and try! (and tell me whether you got happy or not =P)
One flaw.. The service staff is sometimes kinda blur and our order sometimes doesn't come out as expected (sometimes food item that's not ours come to our table.. and sometimes food item we ordered doesn't come... -_-). We already tried to explain slowly in Indonesian and English but well.. Blur people.. What to do -_-
However all in all I really like this place! Since Kantin Aneka (a stall in now-closed S21 Food square at Cuppage Road) is now closed, I shall go here for my Indonesian food fix. Homesick, you know!
When my colleagues decided to give Kuishin Bo a try, after reading about it here, we didn't know it was a buffet place. We got excited when we saw the great variety of food on display as we were lead to our table.
The place was packed with hungry customers ogling at the spread of Japanese food at the buffet area. The seats at Kuishin Bo was either trying to create the Japanese dining feel or its purpose is to hurry people to eat and leave, as its not at all comfortable for prolong sitting. It kinda makes it hard to truely enjoy the food. It's also pretty hard to browse and take food from the buffet area as a part of it has only a narrow lane. Not possible for 3 people to past at one time. (Imagine 1 standing to take food, 2 trying to walk in the opposite directions. Not possible.)
As mentioned by the others above, the food to some is good but some feels that its average. For me, I find some of the food not bad. My favorite are the teppanyaki wayu beef and the alaskan crab legs which are hugeeee! The desserts were pretty good too. Especially the chocolate eclair (hidden in a mini fridge near the drink machine).
One thing unique about Kuishin bo is the specials that only first 20/30 diners who queued when the announcement came on will get. The announcement comes after a Kuishin bo jingle that some find irritating while the others find it refreshing and catchy. We managed to get a serving of a special dessert that's wrapped in egg crepe.
Ladies, if you're planning to go, go on a Tuesday as it's ladies night. You get special price for dinner. I'll probably go back again on a Tuesday with my girlfriends for more beef and crabs!

I settled at Cafe Galilee inside Sengkang Library with a book and ordered some food. With my failing memory, I can't recall the name of the drink and food I ordered! But the experience is still fresh in my mind.
The drink ordered was refreshing, especially for a hot day. Its blended fruit juice with wheatgrass. Seems healthy to me. Haha!
I ordered the BBQ sauce chicken chop hoping to fill my tummy. There wasn't any photo to refer to when I ordered at the cashier. But the staff described to me that it'll come with pasta and bread. So I presumed it'll be not bad. When it was served, I was quite disappointed. The piece of chicken was a tad small, and the pasta and bread was kinda sad to look at. (Refer to picture)
The sauce on the chicken was overpowering and the taste of chicken was totally lost in it. The pasta and its sauce was cold when served. The bread seemed to have been left out for awhile, its cold, tough to bite and the cheese was blunt.
Could have been alot better if they'd heated up the pasta sauce and bread before serving.
Don't be fooled by its name. Of course they sell snacks like chicken stick (wings, thigh, etc.), bacon and mushroom on a stick, but they sell nice set meals too! And they're selling so cheaply. I believe if you're nice, you can change items in your set meal with something else too..

I like this place a lot! Selling their food very cheap, but very delicious and tasty! The teriyaki sauce is very very nice. The seaweed adds nice smell to the food. Oh and the rice is also very nice too! And the nicest thing is of course.. It's so cheap! I usually only spend 6 or 7 dollars for a fulfilling meal! Oh yes it's very fulfilling. The bowl might look small, but really, it's very fulfilling.
Another place I always frequent. Cathay has many nice food outlets!
Purpli Design is a relatively new blogstore selling accessories, mainly earrings. (er well actually all they sell is earrings...)
They have nice simple designs and what's better.. The earrings are super cheap! They are all below SGD 10. Even though they are cheap, the materials are good! Swarovski crystals and many other pretty materials are used.
The owner is very friendly and responds to your enquiries very fast. Items are also mailed very fast. In short, transaction with her is really easy and no-fuss!
However I really wish she would take care of her packaging better. My earrings came packed between cartons and it was kinda messy inside the ziploc bag and nearly fell off from the card that's holding them. Bubble wrap will be better, I guess, to keep the shape and reduce damages.
Forget the overrated and overcrowded Starbuck's. Like seriously.
Coffeebean is the less popular, yet not less delicious coffee shop. I always order their ice blended mocha and it's heavenly! The ingredients are just nice! And the taste is just nice. Not very sweet, not very bitter, just nice!
They also have cakes. Delicious cakes! I tried the mudpie once and it was very very good! It was also not expensive, priced for only about $4 a slice.
This branch has 2 computers with internet access if you need it. Well they don't have wi-fi but well... Wireless@SG is still available.
The place is also very cozy! Forget that overcrowded Starbucks! This place is rarely overcrowded so you can move freely as you want. Noise level is also not too high.
They also have nice breakfast sets! Croissants, Eggs, you name it. I used to live at Waterloo Street and everytime I was on my way to school I would pass this Coffeebean and they smelled utterly delicious! Should try their breakfast set sometime...
Spotlight is huge! They sell loads of things, from art and craft needs to curtains and houseware. Whenever I'm supposed to wait for somebody to come to PS and I know that somebody will take quite a long time to arrive, I always go to Spotlight just to browse around.
Remember. Just browsing around.
Yes the place is always in a mess. I once needed to find some jewelry findings (for once I was not just browsing around) and I found that those jewelry findings are stored in different shelves. How annoying. I gotta walk back and forth just to find the ones I want. Worse still, some of the stuff are cracked or damaged. Staff is not helpful either. Well in fact I couldn't find any. Most of them are just sitting on the floor arranging stuff in the shelves.
And I think some items are simply overpriced. I wanted to buy some cross stitch patterns but my eyes popped out when I saw the price. No need to ask whether I finally bought it or not.
Repeating the stuff Bobo said in her review... Come to Spotlight IF you have the patience and time to find what you need.
