Fried Chicken   Another chicken   Big rice bowl   deserts   dsc02240.JPG
On 04.01.2008, my colleagues and I decide to have our lunch there to celebrate 2 other colleague's birthday.

    Food : 6.5/10
    Service : 4/10
    Price : 5/10
Crowd : not many people during lunchtime

The food's pretty alright, but the waitress seems to have problem understanding us. My boss says must be her English very powerful so she didn't understand our simple English.

Because we already have 3 types of "chicken" dishes. (Grilled, fried and the chicken wrapped in the I-forget-what-leaf), we wanted prawns or fish in our curry, she gave us chicken instead. So we end up eating a "chicken-meal".

The tom yum soup is very very diluted. I never liked tom yum because of the strong sour taste and chocking feeling the spices gives me. But their soup was like clear tomato soup! My friends who loved tom yum wasn't very happy with it.

There weren't many people even though it's lunchtime and they made us sat near the door/walkway.

Total cost after discount (American Express Card) was about $100.

The only thing that was good enough would be the deserts, but even then, I don't think we'll enjoy that much if we weren't sharing 3 deserts among the 7 of us.

I've enclosed some photos of the food. :)
    Enjoy :p

PS : I couldn't give 2.5 stars, so I had to decide on either giving it a 2 which is below average or 3 which is average.

Why I gave it a 3, it's because while I'm typing this review, I suddenly miss the chicken wrapped in leaves. hahas. Yes, I am quite "stingy" when it comes to ratings. :P

Sometime back Defector and I were at Far East Plaza (FEP), after hours of shopping, we decided to "re-fuel" at Hans.

    So here goes my review..

Service staff: What service? Pushing/dragging the chairs, gives customers "black face" aka the attitude look. If they were some kids maybe I could understand but they are aunties that looks like they are going to scold us if we were to ask her anything at all.
Service staffs looks very unwilling to serve: 3/10

Food: If they serve food as good as Hans at Bukit Merah, I could try to bare with their "I-hate-you-don't-you-dare-come-near-me" look. But from the menu, I ordered a couple of items, all of them were either "sold out" or they "don't have". (eg congee, mango smoothie, wholemeal bread for my ham sandwich.)

I end up having strawberry smoothie and a plain bread ham sandwich. My food is pretty average to me but Defector seems to enjoy his beef noodle a lot. Maybe I did order the "wrong food".
People has different taste buds, maybe I'm a little more picky. 7/10 since Defector likes his noodle.

Overall: I cannot stand the air-con, I think it's spoilt. One moment it's too cold, the next it's so freaking warm! and the place is so messy and quite poorly lit too.
    Room for improvement. 6/10.

In case you still don't know.. I LOVE TO EAT! I eat a lot and I love good food.

I heard of some places that serves crappy Korean food.
But I really like this place.. The food is nice and it's not too expensive to go there once in a while..

Defector and I had dinner there many times in the past 2 years. We normally order either set A or Set B. (for 2-3 person).

    The food taste great.
The Ginseng Chicken soup is fantastic!
The beef (can choose between a few types of meat) & chicken is nice.
    The side dish rocks.
and I like the rice too!

For a meal like this (Set A), it cost us about $39.60 (including 10% service charge).

    Some super plus points:
Out of all the places I've visited, this place deserves service charge the most! They have nice staffs and they are pretty fast (We don't have to wait too long even when it's peak dinner hour.)

The delicious side dishes or some called it appetizers are refillable. I totally adore those properly cut and piled kimchi (their kimchi are very good), crunchy cucumbers and their super-addictive anchovies!

The chopsticks are flat and made of metal. hahas. I find them really cute and surprisingly easier to use. :)

I've always liked Hans. I've visited quite a few outlets and I like most of them. The food's pretty good, there's Chinese and there's western style. I especially the one at Bukit Merah Central, however this one at Harbour Front, I don't think I'll visit again.

Located at one corner of Harbour Front Centre, it's hardly noticeable.

There weren't many people around so I thought it would be a good place to rest my legs and have a nice quiet lunch.

To my horror, the place's empty, but the tables are not. Most of the tables are not cleared/cleaned properly and you can see files hovering round tables that has "food droppings".

If the place's busy or at some neighbourhood coffee-shop I would have understood. But it's located in a shopping mall and the workers were talking among themselves. Maybe they were super busy before I went in, so let's take it that it's not their fault.

But that's not the worst part, the worst part is when I opened the menu, there is nothing on the menu that is available.

Don't understand me? Check out the photos I've taken.

On the outside of Miss Clarity Cafe   Toilet drawings   In the toilet   Miss Clarity Cafe namecard
When I first heard of, or rather saw Miss Clarity Cafe, it was on TV and I thought to myself wow.. a pink eating place!

I told myself, one day I'll visit there. But as usual, that one day didn't happen, until the nice people at ping.sg decide to have a mini-gathering there. :)

Purvis Street was new and pretty hard to find, the taxi uncle didn't know where it was, so I told him to drop me off at Bugis junction. It's actually pretty near the National Library, and being PINK and all, it really stood out.

The meet up was in the afternoon, and since the members of ping.sg had already booked some tables, I didn't have to wait like what other reviewers said.

The deco is unique but too much bright colours makes me feel a little nausea. So maybe they should tone down a tiny bit.

The menu looks super packed and colourful. Even thought I was hungry, I just sat there, looking at the menu over and over, not knowing what should I order. Wanted to have lunch but when I saw the dry fried chicken on Daphne's plate. I don't think I wanna try it. I don't really fancy dry chicken. End up having a glass of lime juice instead ($1.00).

I like how they have this simple drawing on the wall directing people to the toilet. :) However, the inside of the toilet wasn't really well decorated and they only have 1 cubical.

It's written on their name card that there is free wireless broadband, so it's a plus point if I have a laptop and need Internet.

Unless there are friends who want to gather/have lunch there, if not I don't think I'll visit there on my own.
