Clam Chowder   Philadelphia Fish & Chips   Squid with Paprika   Wild Mushroom Carbonara Spaghetti
I am allergic to raw fish, so I always hesitated to eat Fish & Chips which is my Dear’s Favourite. I afraid that the batter is too thick until the fish is not well done. So…. Fish & Co will not be on my dinning list, but I decided to eat there on last Friday because I was starving (as usual)..

I ordered the safer item - Wild Mushroom Carbonara Spaghetti. It was good. The sauce was thick and creamy.

The Soup of the day, Clam Chowder, is So-so only. Not flavourful enough. But there were a lot of ingredients. I felt like I was eating a Salad more than drinking a soup. ;p

My Dear ordered the Philadelphia Fish & Chips. I dun like the Fish. My Dear finds it ok only. :p

My nightmare is the Squid with Paprika. The servings was too big for my own consumption. My Dear dun eat Ika. :( So I got to “enjoy” it all by myself. After a few pieces, I fell like puking. The squid was too soft, and the taste was a bit salty. Coming to think of it now, I still feel like puking. I think I will not touch Ika for quite some time.

The items that we ordered were exclusive at the Paragon Branch. You can’t find them listed on their webby.

They gave us a mint after the meal. Maybe to prevent us from puking after they saw the leftover of the squid. :p Haaaaaa…..

Besides the food, I find that their service is good. They are prompt even though dinner crowd heavy.

Recently, I went to the Carousel, Royal Plaza on the Scotts with my bosses and colleagues. RP is owned by the Brunei King. So…. The restaurants in the hotel serve Halal food. Carousel serves International Halal Buffet, featuring Mediterranean, Asian, Salad and Japanese Stations with 3 desserts counters and fruit juice station. Wooooo… they have Chocolate Fondue leh!!!

My Appetizer - the Japanese Station. The sushi is fresh. Soba is well cooked, sauce are not too salty. :D I took the Cold Seafood Selection - but they are tasteless. Need to go with the cocktail sauce or tobasco.

The Hot Items Selection has too much for me to choose. They got Wagyu Beef which I dun take. I like their Lamb and Roast Chicken. ;D The seafood soup is so-so. Not flavourful enough.

My Dessert - Vanilla Ice-cream with chocolate drops; Assorted fruits dip in Chocolate Fondue; and Mango Pudding. The Mango Pudding is too soft. Not nice. :p

Fried Mushrooms   Spicy Buffalo Wings   Chicken Chop   Roast Chicken Penne
After a hard day’s work at my Conference, my Dear came over to meet me at Suntec. He insisted on trying New York New York, so we went there for dinner on the Full Moon night (yes, the mid-autumn festival night).

      We were starving.

We ordered the Spicy Buffalo Wings. Crispy, not so spicy. Seasoning is so-so.

We saw the “fried mushroom” on the menu. As mushrooms lovers, we wont miss this dish. They use Golden mushrooms and Shitake. The batter is too thick. The Golden mushrooms are not suitable for frying as they are too tough. If you are not careful, you might be choke by a bunch of the fried Golden mushrooms.

My main dish is the chicken chop. The seasoning is not very appealing to me. The sauce is good though.

I like the penne creamy pasta with roast chicken that my Dear ordered. The sauce is thick, the taste is just like the Pasta de Waraku’s. I dun really like their chicken. Not nice. :p

Maybe they are no good with Chicken.

           Glutton’s Platter   Salad   Chicken Ballotine
My Dear & I decided to try out their branch at Thomson.

We cannot decide which appetizer to order, so we went for the Glutton’s Platter. We like the chipolata, chix wings and the wedges. The rest - onion rings and chix nuggets - CANNOT MAKE IT. Onion rings were too oily and the Chix nuggets too hard. The chipolata are chewy; the chix wings marinate is good - got the old primary school canteen chix wings taste; the wedges are fried just rite. The sauce is a mix of french onions with mayo. Nice!

Their salads are fresh and crunchy (as usual!). :)

I ordered Chicken Ballotine instead of my fren's recommendation of chicken cordon bleu. I like the chicken thigh roll with braised mushroom stuffing.

Dunno why my Dear like to order this Chicken baked rice. It’s not very nice. He said is not as good as the one he had at Purvis Street.

Raku Ninja - Chawanmushi   Raku Ninja - Tea   Raku Ninja - Chicken Wings   Raku Ninja - Tori Fried Rice   Raku Ninja - Sushi
I always wanted to try this restaurant because it looks interesting. So, I went with my Dear there for dinner a couple of weeks ago, and very disappointed with the food quality.

          Firstly, the drinks:
I ordered hot green tea and my Dear ordered English tea. They served the ‘hot’ green tea (which is warm not hot) in a ’soup bowl’ (maybe be interesting to some pple) and my dear’s English tea, they never give him a teaspoon to stir in the sugar. Can’t possibly asked him to use the spoon in the sugar pot rite?

          Secondly, the sushi:
The ingredients are fresh, but the rice are not well made; in the sense that it was not properly shaped. The rice fall apart easily. :(

          Thirdly, the tori karage:
It’s a bit too oily, tough.

          Fourth, the chicken wings:
          Crispy but too salty.

          Fifth, the chawanmushi:
They should not use SPRING ONIONS. Their taste are overpowered. There are nothing much in the chawanmushi. No crabmeat stick, only a traces of fish cake and 2 small bits of shrimp. Not much taste also. It’s a TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT.

Sixth, my Main dish - Shoyu Ramen:
The soup base is fine. Not too salty. The ramen are well cooked. So, what is wrong with this dish? The Char Siu. VERY FATTENING. I can see mostly FATS, no much meat. They are tough. Not those that melt in the mouth kind even though they have so much layer of FATS.

Seventh, my dear’s Main dish - Tori Fried Rice:
The miso soup is ok. The rice was fried with garlic. Dried, but oily. Very oily. Not much taste, the only flavour are the slight garlicky taste and the Fried Tori.

We finished all the dishes, not becoz they are delicious, its becoz we were too HUNGRY.

When we made payment at the counter, then we saw that they, as a Japanese Restaurant, is famous for their claypot Laksa! o.O SURPRISE!!!!!!
