    What's gd
I like their crispy thin pizza which taste like crispy biscuits saddled with bonito flakes. Its important to choose the right flavor because certain food simply do not blend together in a pizza setting. I personally like the mentaiko asparagus flavour because the mentaiko is not too fishy and melts harmoniously with the cheese and bonito flakes to create a simple & fresh ( probably brought out by the asparagus).

    What's not
The curry potato pizza is something that I will refrain from trying again.. simply because it taste like our familiar old chang kee curry puff without the buttery crust.

Ramen being an important japanese cusine, was a kind of let down at Shokudo because the texture of the ramen was too hard and rubbery, and the soup was too salty for my palate.

    Tip
Strangely, I suspect the owners are trying to create some kind of cold climate similar to Japan because the air con is pretty cold. Hence, the egg omelette that you've painfully queued for the past 15 mins may cool down soon by the time you reach your seats. Hence, try and gulp your food fast. Eat first, then talk.

       pork set
Am a ardent fan of this Korean Food since my schooling days. Last time, this Korean Stall is located at the now defunct Orchard Point Shopping Centre. I have also heard rumours that they may move to another location as Le Meridian will be closing off this food court, anyone can confirm this?

The popularity of this Korean Food stall are probably due to the freshness of the ingredients / generous portion ( compare the portion they serve here to other nearby Korean Food Stalls and you will know what I mean) / authentic selection of Korean food on its menu ( like the potato pancakes) and of course the motherly Korean Owner.......

My personal favourite is the bbq pork set whereby they cooked their tender sliced pork ( with bits of fat) in their chili mixture. The end product is not oily ( the owners claims they cooked their meat with water) and you definitely feel less sinful as you down your spicy grilled pork in the chewy bowl of rice. Sliced cabbages will be placed underneath the pork but do not mistaken the cabbages for garnishes because the cabbage have absorbed the juices from the cooked meat and tastes heavenly!

Tip: If you are ordering the bbq sets, be wary of the spluttering and sizzling of your hotplates as you bring your food back to seat.

       Debal’s curry
This place was highly recommend by my friend who works nearby the place and the location is nicely tugged in a quaint little shop space at seah street, near to the grand raffles hotel and the busy bras brasah road. Once you set food into the little shop front, you get a feeling you're invited into a simple little eating place where all the tables are covered with flowery plastic table covers and a mini vase with 1 stalk of flower [ i think the flower is plastic too] to adorn the table setting.

Being a curry lover, my main purpose was to tryout the Debal's Curry [ sounds like Devil's curry] to see if the Eurasian version indeed lives up to its name. The star of the menu - Debal Curry turn out to be a pretty peppery experience whereby the texture of the curry is a bit grainy (think is the mustard seeds) and is slighter thicker than our traditional curry (don't think they have added any coconut milk though). If you like your curries peppery and thick, you can probably try this Debal's curry.

As for me, I think I still prefer creamy coconut milk in my curries....... ^ ^

Famebakers is an online bakery and dessert store which I happened to come across in Friendster. It's a good thing that I chanced upon such a sincere and talented baker.

During the festive season around CNY, I ordered some traditional Chinese goodies such as pineapple tarts, kueh bolu, cornflake cookies etc. I ordered pretty late, almost near to CNY itself and she politely informed me that some items was not available.

She also met up with me to pass the goodies and guess what? she threw in an additional free 2 sets of red packets with cute pictures on them. I was touched...

But the real deal was in the pineapple tarts. They were huge! and costs so much lower than market price. Most importantly, they were delicious too.

I say, sometimes you have to try out something unfamiliar which gives us a chance to find some rare gems.

           grilled fish   miso soup
Am also a fan of this no-frills grilled fish outlet ( though I can't remember their name). The outlet is near to the fried pork cutlet eating place and has limited seats.

        Price
Due to budget constraints, I usually ordered their set meal that are below $10... The set meal comes with a grilled fish, a hearty bowl of miso soup, rice , salad and a cup of hot green tea. In this period of inflation, their saba set is a pretty good deal and you do not need pay any GST or service charges and yet the service is pretty decent.

        Food
Loved their miso soup which comes with huge chunks of salmon and white raddish. The light taste of the soup blends well with the grilled fish.

The portion of the grilled fish is pretty generous and you can literally viewed the fish being cooked in front of you via the open kitchen concept. The fish taste pretty fresh and I like the fact that its a simple dish which one can almost eat everyday ( I wish! )

        Tip
Due to limited space, its quite hard to get seats during peak hours & its literally a touch & go concept ( seats not conducive for long conversations) & not suitable for big group.
