    1491. Lido Cineplex

What's brewing in Lido Cineplex? Nothing actually. One of the earliest cineplexes in Singapore. It has been some time since we walked into Lido for a movie. So when we walked into Lido 7, it felt as though we were transported back to the 1990s. Not a complement :)

The cinema emits a strange smell. We were wondering where the smell came from. When we sat down in our seats, it felt as though the seat was about to drop. The cushion was almost non existent...as though totally worn out. Only then did we realise that the smell could have come from the cushion (it was fabric...soft...too soft...like almost never washed). Good thing the lights were dim and were kept dim even after the show. Just wondered if the cushion was stained with human dna samples from active sweat glands over the years.... the collection of which gave out the arid smell.

Anyway it was the first time also after a long long time that someone's head blocked our view so that we had to watch the show between 2 heads...which seems pretty huge.

Anyway the show saved the day...and we vowed never to step into Lido 7 again...until the place is being renovated and upgraded.

Spacious and clean was our impression when we were here for a movie. Like what the other Yebbers mentioned, there is no need to assume a foetal position when you have to make room for latecomers who try to squeeze their way through to the seat in the middle of the row and in the process decorating the cinema with spilled popcorn.

The only problem was that the back rest was too upright and stiff. The seats do not recline, hence providing a much awkward viewing angle. Imagine seating in an upright position for 2-3 hours watching a movie....try to slouch and you will end up sitting with no back support.

Not our favourite cinema, but still better than Lido 7. That is another story.

I love GV@ Vivo too! But the rest are absolutely right. You definitely need to make bookings to get your tickets. I love GVmax with it's ultra wide screen.

It's always bustling with people so if you want to get popcorn and stuff you'd better be there early. I love the seating with plenty of leg room.

It's never too cold. and the food is always cooked. (i've eaten hotdogs which aren't before and had food poisoning.)

I have one major gripe though. There only one restroom with 3 lousy cubicles. On weekends it can really be hell queuing before a movie. ANNNDD if you are watching at GV max you would have to go in to the other side for the restroom.. come out again to enter into GVmax on the other side. URGH... Why can't they have more loos! Can you imagine if you had to go in the middle of a movie.

Oh yes one more gripe.. one of the cinema exits.. lets us out into unfamiliar place... and I got really lost trying to look for our car. haiz.

Was at Compasspoint last week and I was trying to find this place. Then I realised they've changed their name and price! I remembered paying less than $30 for an hour session of full body massage, but now its $40 ! Talking about GST hike!

Well, with the price increased, I'll rather go for a spa and massage package at some spa boutiques...

Btw, they are known as Refresh bodyworksnow.

Whenever I have time on my own, I like to go to Plaza Singapura. And out of 5 times, 3 of these days you'll find me at Secret Recipe having a piece of cheese cake.

From the first day I tasted their cheese cake, I feel head over heels with it! (But now I am having a fling with the White Choc Cake w/Macademias! *winks*)

First let me talk about the cheese cake... yes, it's small in size, but the size doesn't matter for this. If you can't have enough of it, order another one! This cheese cake is not too soft and not hard too. The texture is just nice for me. And the cheese taste is just right. Unlike some of the cheese cakes I had elsewhere, they tasted kinda sour. My favorite part of having Secret Recipe cheesecake is the crust below the cheese cake. It's kinda like biscuit. This cake is best eaten bit by bit. Slowly enjoying the melting of the cheese in your mouth... heavenly!

Now a little about my new fling. Their White Choc Cake w/mac nuts! I'm a white choc die-hard-fan! This is one cake that you cannot miss! My friend who doesn't like sweet stuff enjoyed this cake too! It's sponge is fluffy and the chocolate layered in between is great! This one is about 2.5 times the size of their cheese cake. So its advisable to share it with another friend.

I went there on a friday night with my mummy... Knowing that the queue will be very long... I went to take my number even before my mum arrive... (when I took the number, mum was still at home)....

So when my mum arrive (around 30 mins later), our table was ready... So for me... no time wasted...

I agreed the pasta was superb... But... Too Bad... My mum feels that the food is not hot enough... The soup was cold... The pasta was cold too... I guess bcos of the crowd... They pre-cooked most of the stuff...

    =(

I love the steak at hogs breath! And it's not expensive! I love the ambience there too...

If you feel like eating more... U can opt for the bigger portion at a very reasonable price...

Personally I will recommend this place for special occassion... e.g. anniversary, birthday....

If I didn't remember wrongly... There's 20% for early birds... (reach the resturant b4 7pm)

I have mixed feeling abt GV @ Vivo...

My first experince there was an unpleasent one... I had a middle row seat... But maybe bcos of the huge screen... I feel so near to screen and I have a hard time... =(

Since then, I never watch there... Till...

My friends has tix for gold class.... Why not right?

Anyway gold class was superb even I was at the first row.... The seats were so nice and cosy... U know those massage chair kind... u can 'sleep' too! They offer blankets tooo...

So the 2 experinces I had at GV @ vivo was very extreme!

*Please look at my reveiw on Browhaus (raffles city)*

I was around the area with my girlfriend... And it's abt 2 weeks since my last eyebrow threading... Hence I went to the Wheelock Branch...

As comapred to Raffles City, this is a much smaller branch... The whole place is not as spacious as Raffles City Branch... But the people here are more friendly...

As it was a very very last minute decision... I juz walked in... They were almost fully booked... But they tried their best to sqeeuze in for me... While waiting, i was served hot ginger tea... That was so nice of them...

Normally only spa/beauty saloons offer their customer giner tea... So... It's really the extra efforts their touches customers heart!

I went there for a gathering... One of my girlfriend recomented this place... Knowing the place will be full and there were 10 of us , we made a reservation 1 week ago....

The decor is nice... very pink and I like...

But for food wise... Most of us, find it so-so only... Nothing fanastic...

And the place is superb crowded therefore superb nosiy... definately not a place for gathering... And the waiting for the food arrive was abt 30 mins?

We finished our food quickly and change to a near by cafe where it is quieter...
