    love it (:

the wedges with dip are a must-try. esp the dip! mildly spicy, goes perfectly with the piping hot wedges. arnd $4 i think.

the interesting thing is that you can order a pizza with two flavors! we had a creamy one, and a spicy tomato somehting one. both were really good, generous toppings including lots of olives which i love. the crust goes very well with the wedges-dip. although the pizza base is a bit chewy, at $32 for a large (4 people couldnt finish), its really quite worth it.

its self-service, but i actually prefer that cos i think service charge is usually unjustified.

went for the student's buffet, paid $56 for 3 people (:

some hits and misses, mostly hits! i'll just share some things that i enjoyed.

      1. salmon sashimi. ok this was obviously frozen before it arrived, but came in thick slabs and once it thawed properly, was yummy (:

      2. takoyaki. i love the batter for this!

      3. tempura squid. i usually dont like squid, but this is really good.

      4. ebi fry. this is slightly above average. feel like im eating a fishcake-prawn mix rather than just prawn.

      5. grilled shisamo! dip into wasabi-soy sauce and its heavenly!

      6. fried salmon skin (conveyer belt), super crispy and great with mayo!

      7. potato croquette, cant go wrong!

      8. chuka hotate (seasoned scallop) and seasoned jellyfish. came with shredded cucumber which makes for a great appetizer. they forgot our seasoned seaweed though ):

      9. grilled mushrooms. juicy shitake mushrooms with teriyaki sauce squirting out with each bite!!

came with dessert (ice cream) and drinks (wide variety!), i enjoyed this buffet v much, except that the waiters kept on forgetting our orders. and they didnt have prawn sashimi ):

a great great experience, sorry no pics..

oh dont get the fried tofu, absolutely tasteless.

incredibly simple and homely fair (: great for a light lunch!

for weekday porridge buffet, 6.90 for adult and 5.90 for child. 8.10 after gst.

Choice of sweet potato porridge and white rice for carbs.

Simple dishes such as ikan bilis, peanuts, cabbage (2 types), very very good curry chicken, three layer fatty pork (not sure what its called in english, its sam cam bak), mui choy (preserved veggie), salted egg, szechuan veg, braised egg/peanut/tofu, chinese sausage, v fragrant battered fried fish..

Dessert: sliced oranges. Cannot get more simple than this.

Overall food quality is only alright. Great service though! I like the chilli sauce (:

located in golden landmark hotel, which is beside raffles hospital.

service was good, waiters cleared the plates once we were done. maybe its cos we were one of the..i think four families there. when we entered the place at 7pm, we were the only ones there for quite a while.

their indian buffet ($15 ) is quite nice. simple but pristinely done north indian fare. the best part about indian food, i find, is that it goes straight to your stomach and stops you from over-eating.

vegetable soup: a simply, slightly creamy (potatoes?) soup with meltingly soft diced veggies. a nice start to the meal and washes down the spices well.

lamb rendang: tender meat in a tangy sauce.

sweet & sour fish: regular. fish meat is a bit tough and gets a bit dry.

spicy red chicken..thing: YUMMY! again the chicken is very tender and moist, full of flavor without being too spicy.

tandoori chicken: LOVE IT. each bite is evenly flavored, chicken is tender enough (in between soft and tough). went back for seconds (:

stir-fried veggie..thing: spiced cauliflower and potatoes. at least i got my veggies..

poppadums were free flow, and so were oily naans and saffron rice. their poppadums rock. had many servings of it.

desserts were some rice pudding, some orange colored sugary thing and this brown ball drenched in syrup. oh i shall rave about the brown syrupy ball thing. it tastes like maple-syruped balled up hotcakes! oishii!!

all in all, its a good place to bring friends..lovely indian food thats not tongue-scorchingly spicy.

Loads of friendly foreign staff who actually say the correct Japanese greetings, ie irrashaimase instead of masemase and arigatou gozaimasu instead of..gozaimasu. which has no actual meaning.

Ordered the salmon miso ramen ($8.90). The salmon was really good. Generous chunks were in the soup, well marinated, soft and no fishy pong at all! I was quite impressed with the fish. Soup was tasty (no msg) and noodles were springy without being tough. Homely and if you're looking for a light meal, this is it.

My friend had the waffle with vanilla ice cream and hot fudge ($5.90) . Stingy servings, I must say. Despite her requesting for extra hot fudge, the drizzle of sauce was rather miserly. Waffles were PUNY. smaller than a size of a CD case.

Overall..ramen is good but desserts are sad. Good for a tea-break (:
