I went for a week's holiday in Taiwan during cny. It was a very nice place to visit, but it's very cold during cny period.
The scenery was nice, food was good and shopping was great. Due to wet season, I didn't buy much and was raining everyday, it was very wet and cold and every destination we went to are full of people, local and tourists.
There are alot of night markets, opened even during cny period, be daring, try to eat their local food, which I didn't quite dare to try, smelly tofu, pigs intestines, etc.
Ximending is a great place for the latest in Japanese and western cheapchic. Oh ya, make sure to try a bowl of flour-rice noodles at Ay-Chung's mee stall. I queue for 15mins to try this small bowl of mee suah.
I would consider going again but will choose a good timing, not too cold not too hot, a just nice weather to go shopping.
Btw, think should let all of you know, the goods and food are cheap, not the shopping mall of course.

Went to try out this newly opened, 3week's old spa in Safra Yishun Country Club.
Was quite surprised on a sunny saturday to have slots for walk-in customer. I request for their 60mins Signature Massage - Hut 67 Massage. I have a quick shower and was lead to a room with 6beds, I was showed to a bed and then asked to disrobe myself and lie on the bed, the curtain drawned as the girl leave the area.
Minutes later a therapist came in and start to rub my body with oil. The massage is just ok, the pressure is not constant, was firm and soft at times. And when other customer walk in, the conversation between the customer and therpist was very disturbing. And the massage is very oily, too oily to be a good massage as the therapist can't hold onto the meridian points.
Dont expect very luxurious spa facilities, the toilet and bath area are common used and the room curtained up with 6 beds.
Overall not too bad to kill time while waiting for husband/boyfriend at gym or swiming and provided you dont mind a very oily massage
NOthing comes FREE... I had a call from them sometime back for a couple of FREE sessions. I was asked to go and pick up the coupons. When Im there, a guy ushered me to their lobby and start to look at me from head to toe and to my horror, this is what he says "Miss, you have a tummy and and your arms are flabby, im sure you are not happy, that's y you are here today" ... My god,is this how you talk to your customers, a lady customer somemore. I was v annoyed and tell him that Im here for the free coupons not for his comments on my body.
He kept saying he will sure give me the FREE coupons but he wants to share with me the good of his club.. 'Even how good your club is I dont think I want to join, you are so rude' this is my thought from the moment he say of my body to the time I walk out of the club.
He pull me around and show me the facilities and the products they have and kept telling me their 'heavenly price' is v worthwhile compared to other clubs. To end it all, he says 'paying this price, can get rid of your fats and tone you up, why not, right',,, 'even my gf can't tahan got tummy, im sure you as a lady oso can't'.... this is the last sentence I hear from him coz I m already blacked face.
I tell him i got to go and i dont want his coupons and took my bag, stand up and leave the lobby. As I walk towards the escalator, he run up to me and handed me the coupons saying ' you are here for the FREE coupons, i SURE will give you, here you go' ... Thou I did take the coupons, but i tear it up as I leave the building, telling myself never will I walk up to this place again.
What a sales person??? Should I consider him no manners or no customer service at all. Wonder how he can pursude other ladies into joining his club with this kind of comments.
Maybe coz I go for the FREE, as he kept mentioning throughtout the 30mins. If you are there to buy the membership, mayb you can get better comments from him. I dont know.

When I ring for an appointment for the day itself, I was told v fully booked but 1230pm and 4pm slot available. Weird, dont know how they interpret as fully booked but still got that 2slots and also i was asked if i understand chinese as the counter girl wasn't able to speak english.
After explaining to me the treatments on the coupon, I booked for 3treatments, a half hour back massage with steam bath, a O2 facial and an eye treatment.
When i was there, I was given a form to fill up and was asked to buy all the treatments, I told the girl I want to try out the 3 treatments before I decide to buy the rest anot, a very annoying face was shown to me.
I was given a locker to put my clothes and was changed into a robe, taken to a room to start my massage. The aunty was very rough with her actions, the massage was firm but it's her actions, when she put the massage oil on the bed i could feel the 'bang' virbation and throughout she's just so rough, it's because Im paying $15 only??, that's my thought at that moment. She also ask me to find out if i like to buy their full body massage during the massage. When the massage was done, she lead me to a steam room, she try pushing a few buttons on the panel of the room for 5mintues, nothing happen, then she went out to the corridor and start to look for help, saw a lady walk past and ask her how to operate the machine. The lady replied her in front of me, ' aunty i just start work yesterday lay, today my 2nd day, you asked me how to operate' ohoh... my god, to talk infront of your customers like this... no no :(
Finally when the machine start to operate, which should be around 20mins but i saw the timer already 35mins, and it's not stopping and no1 comes to knock on my door. End up, I stop it myself and take a shower, put on my robe and went to the corridor to find anyone to lead me to my next treatment. This is my 1st time ever have to stop the machine and find staff instead of them waiting to lead me.
During the facial, this young lady was telling me my face was very dry and need more facial and kept telling me to buy their facial package. I told her I will think about it after the facial. Throughout the 1hour facial with eye treatment, the door kept opening and closing behind me, the cream and oil and machine are not in the same room, someone will blend the cream and oil to bring in. I thought all these should be blended while I in the steam room, all these should be prepared in advance. I couldn't sleep or rest at all.
Finally it's over, I know another challenge to come, that's the hard selling part. True, Im being lead to a room, a lady show me all the packages and tell me since Im using the coupon, they give v good rates for customers with this coupon.
I told her honestly, I come because of the $15 treatment, Im not here for the package, she then tell me then I should buy all the treatments at $15each which is applicable on the day itself, after that, not allowed to buy at $15.
I bought 2 other facial at $15 each not the rest, as their treatments mostly done with machine, I prefer handwork. I bet when Im there for the 2facials next 2months, Im sure to have to go through the hardsell again.

Yes, this place is good. Regine who's the Manager will still remb me whenever i ring say 1x a month, even thou im not their member..
I have been there 2x so far. The 1st time i went for a ginger ritual spa. Julie, my therapist, gave me a scrub and wrap me up with carrot bits all over me for half an hour follow with a shower and a firm massage, which I asked for and finally the ginger wrap, bits of ginger was put on me and I was wrap up with 2blankets, I start to feel the heat and was told it will help to get rid of wind and aches, lastly a powder bath was given, I was so relax after a long 3hours of enjoyment.
The 2nd time I ring, I was taken aback when Regine, who pick up my call, recognise me when I tell her my name, that's 1month later, this time i went for just a javanese massage. The massage was just good only as the petite malay girl was not able to give me firm massage which I asked for.
But overall, the experience and atmosphere is still good, will still go again but will ask for Julie instead.
